Up for auction is a 1972 Nova SS 396 Clone. The paint is recent and although it may look like a show car in pics, its a 15 footer. Whoever prepped the car for paint fell short of quality control in my opinion. The car turns heads everywhere and gets "thumbs up" wherever I drive it. Once again the car is driver quality so keep that in mind before bidding. It has a crate LS6 454 engine with an Edelbrock  Intake and Quick Fuel 750 carb, deep sump oil pan, headers and dual exhaust into Flowmasters. It has a Turbo 350 with a shift kit and a B&M shifter. The rear is a 10 bolt 410 non posi. The drivetrain is solid and the car pulls hard. It has new multi leafs and shocks in the rear and new BB springs and new shocks in the front. The car has a March serpentine belt system and vintage air (that works) installed. The interior was recently redone by the previous owner and I can tell that it was a bench seat car that was converted to low back buckets. It has manual steering, radio delete and a fiberglass cowl induction hood. It has correct 14 inch SS wheels with BF Goodrich radial tires. Front disc Brakes and new GM repop chrome valve covers and air cleaner. MSD ignition and distributor. New rocker trim and wheel well moldings, parking light lenses and Nova emblems. This Nova is a turn key driver that is fun to drive and makes plenty of power, I have a new vinyl top and headliner and sail panels that will go with the car. I don't have the time or room to continue with the car due to other projects. This car is not perfect and still needs some work but is mechanically sound. Small things like the dash lights do not work (circuit board) and other little odds and ends. Please ask questions before bidding. I suggest having a third party come and view the car if you are unavailable to. This car sold from Volo Auto Museum a couple of years ago for over 20k I still have the title from Volo. Good Luck Bidding.

On Aug-21-14 at 06:40:59 PDT, seller added the following information:

A prospective buyer came over last night to test drive the vehicle and said that I may have been a little harsh on my judging of the car's exterior. I stated "15 footer" in the description. The person who came to inspect it and I agreed that it is a "5 footer" if that makes any difference lol. I am picky and I measured this car against my 68 Z/28 rotisserie nut and bolt restoration from a nationally known restoration shop. Have a good day.

Pure Vision Design TT Camaro has 1,400 reasons to want it

Wed, 06 Nov 2013

We've talked about Pure Vision Design before, a California-based company that made waves at last year's SEMA show with its Martini-liveried, Indy-car-powered Ford Mustang. That same car later starred in a Petrolicious video we showed you just a few weeks back. The company's latest creation is a menacing car it calls the Pure Vision Design TT Camaro. Based on a 1972 model, this car shares the Martini Mustang's clean styling and obsession with details.
Unlike the Mustang, which draws its power from a mid-60s Lotus-Ford Indycar engine, the "TT" in this Camaro's name implies something far more potent. The Nelson Racing Engines 427-cubic-inch V8 has been fitted with a pair of turbochargers, with a claimed output of 1,400 horsepower. That's almost 1,000 more than the Martini Mustang.
A six-speed Magnum transmission dispatches that power to the ground, while Pirelli PZero tires are tasked with (somehow) trying to grip the road. Baer brakes hide behind those HRE rims, while JRI coilovers and HyperTech springs bless the Camaro with some degree of competency in the bends.

Chevrolet planning low-cost Corvette under Stingray?

Wed, 27 Feb 2013

If you're burnt out on musings about the Chevrolet Corvette, you'll want to go ahead and skip this post. Motor Trend reports General Motors is hard at work on a low-cost version of the seventh-generation sports car for 2015. Rumored to be called the Corvette Coupe, the car will forgo the Stingray and skip the 450-horsepower 6.2-liter V8 engine in favor of a 5.3-liter V8 with under 400 ponies. If you're keeping track, that's a shade of the same engine found behind the headlights of the 2014 Chevrolet Silverado and GMC Sierra.
The report also suggests the Coupe will receive a number of aesthetic tweaks to separate it from the Stingray, including different front and rear fascias as well as new front fenders and a rear diffuser. Motor Trend says the point of all this is to cut the car's price tag, which means we may see a Corvette on showroom floors for less than $50,000 if this car comes to fruition.

The story of the 2014 Chevrolet SS: "Luxury, power, refinement, handling"

Thu, 07 Mar 2013

Not including the women and men who built it, the 2014 Chevrolet SS has only been seen in person by a piddling number of people - fewer humans than would fill the gymnasium at a high school volleyball game. Not including the men and women who built it, no one has driven it. Even so, it is already saddled with two controversies: the way it looks and the way it shifts.
First to that shifting. Did we love the last Americanized Holden, the awesomely sportsome Pontiac G8 GXP, and its six-speed manual? Of course. Do we wish the SS came with a six-speed manual? Of course. But we'd like a toboggan to come with a manual transmission. We'd put a manual transmission on a weasel if we could because we're just wired that way; if it moves, it should come with a stick and a clutch. Or at least the option.
Let's climb down off the ledge, though. We haven't driven the SS and we have no idea how good (or not) the automatic is. And the Hobson's Choice in transmissions when it comes to sport sedans like the BMW M5, Mercedes-Benz E63 AMG and Jaguar XFR-S and, oh yeah, cars-that-really-should-have-manuals like the Audi R8 and Nissan GT-R and Porsche 918 and every single Lamborghini and Ferrari, for instance, hasn't stopped us from enjoying what is clearly the gruesome, dual-clutched demise of Western automotive civilization. Because in spite of our ululations at the dying of the six-speed light, we understand.
