Up for auction is my 1972 Chevy Nova. This car is in great shape and I found it in original condition with only 61K original miles!! It has its original sheet metal (with exception of the 2" steel cowl induction hood which was added a few years back). Including the original floor & trunk pans which are rust free. The factory color on the Nova is Gold and approximately 15 years ago was painted Citrus Green and is in great shape! This car would make the perfect candidate for a Yenko Deuce Clone or C.O.P.O. Clone. It has the original interior including rubber mat, dash pad, and the rare radio delete plate. The front seat was re-covered in the late 1990's. The headliner, door panels and rear package tray are all original. This car came from the factory with a 6 cylinder engine with a power glide transmission. I have since replaced these items with a new 383 stroked small block and a turbo 350 transmission. Both with less than 1,000 miles. The car has an 8.5 10 bolt rear end with a 3.42 posi traction that is sturdy and quiet. The engine has an eagle forged rotating assembly, ported and polished heads with 2.02 valves, Howards solid lift camshaft (which sounds awesome), Edelbrock Victor Jr intake, Heddman ceramic coated headers, MSD distributor and ignition, Holley 750 mechanical carb, sheet metal valve covers and aluminum radiator. Painted to match factory steel wheels with dog dish caps. The factory drum brakes were replaced with a new power disc brake unit with 2" drop spindles with Moroso springs. The car runs, drives and stops better than new! All headlights, brake lights & turn signals work. The horn does not work. The heater works great but the heater core is starting to drip ($25 fix). The car is for sale locally so I do reserve the right to end the auction early. If you have any questions, please feel free to call my cell at 828.702.3473. Mike

Survey says $25k barrier is a problem for EVs
Sun, 01 Dec 2013
The majority of consumers are more or less priced out of the market.
Electric cars are gaining popularity with the general public, but are they still too expensive? According to a survey 1,084 consumers by Navigant Research, a consulting firm located in Boulder, CO, 71 percent want their next car to cost under $25,000, while 41 percent won't go a cent above $20K. Looks like people are even thriftier than we'd originally thought.
GM applies for LT5, LTX trademarks... are new small block variants coming?
Mon, 29 Apr 2013Recently discovered General Motors trademark applications for LT4, LT5, LT88 and LTX have observers wondering what kind of high-performance offerings could be on their way. A new LT4 would mark a return of the engine designation first used on the Corvette Grand Sport, SLP Pontiac Firehawk and SLP Chevrolet Camaro SS from 1996 and 1997. Supposition at Corvette Forum - which provided advance intel on the C7 like these leaked images - believes a new LT4 could go into the high-performance trim of the next-gen, 2015 Camaro that would be more powerful than the 580-horsepower Camaro ZL1.
Seeing an LT5 again would also be déjà vu - in its former life it was a 5.7-liter V8 for the C4 Corvette ZR-1 from 1990-1994 designed by Lotus, producing from 370 hp to 405 hp. A mix of rumor and hope is that the new LT5 will be a supercharged evolution of the 6.2-liter LT1 (pictured) placed in the new C7 Corvette, and that it will go into the C7 version of the ZR1 pumping out something like 700 hp.
The LTX trademark is, as with that last letter, a complete mystery. If the "X" isn't a generic way to denote the whole LT family, it's wondered if it LTX could refer to a crate motor offering like the LSX.
Buick Velite is a not-so-Volt-like plug-in hybrid concept for China
Mon, Nov 7 2016Is the Buick Velite a Volt by any other name? That's a question worth asking after General Motors said that the Buick Velite concept vehicle will make its global debut at the Guangzhou Auto Show later this month. GM says the car "will provide a template for upcoming models being launched under the Buick Blue new energy vehicle strategy." Whether that means the Velite is a variant of the second-generation of the Chevrolet Volt extended-range plug-in is open to interpretation. Some automotive publications, including Autoweek, are saying that's the case, but GM China doesn't mention the Volt in its press release, only saying that the car is a "high-performance" plug-in hybrid vehicle. As we know, GM doesn't use the "PHEV" descriptor for the Volt, which makes us thing the Velite's powertrain is more like the Cadillac CT6 PHEV. Either way, the concept was developed by the Pan Asia Technical Automotive Center (PATAC), which is a joint venture between GM and Shanghai-based SAIC. As far as the name, GM has been shopping the Velite moniker around for a while now. The automaker first used Buick Velite for the convertible concept vehicle it showed off at the 2004 New York Auto Show. More recently, GM in 2014 filed to use the name for the US variant of its Opel Cascada four-seat convertible model, which debuted in 2013. As for the second-generation version of the Volt, that model appears to be gaining favor in the US. Domestic sales of the Volt through October have surged 64 percent from a year earlier to more than 18,500 units. The new version boosted its all-electric range by 40 percent to 53 miles while increasing its power output by 20 percent.
