This auction is for a 1971 Chevrolet Nova SS featuring a built 396(none numbers matching) coupled to a built 700R4 automatic trans and a 12 bolt posi w/ 3.76 gears. This car was completely rebuilt in 1985 and has been lightly driven since (weekend warrior) and has less than 10,000 miles on engine. Trans upgrade was done 1000 miles ago.The engine is a 1968 396 ,bored .030" has cast iron heads and a very lumpy camshaft. The motor was built by Russ Barfield in Hollywood Fl.The complete fuel system has been replaced in the last year , the ignition system was just replaced last week. This is a very strong running big block Nova!

The brake system was gone through last year, as was the suspension. The car has power disc brakes up front. It also has power steering.

This car has been babied since new, the current owner bought it from the son of the original owner while it was being refurbished back in the 80s.It is not clear whether or not this is a true SS although it is believed to be.What is known is that it started life out with a 350 under the hood.We have not found the build sheet which unfortunately is the only way to know for sure.

The undercar is very clean, looks to be original floor pans, don't see any soft spots or rust. The trunk is immaculate. The only issues noted on the body are some rust spots in the lower doors,it does not look like any prior repairs were done in thase spots, and what looks like a "paint booger"near the RR taillight. . The quarters ,doors and fenders are all original sheetmetal.Other than the door issues the car is laser straight. It also has a fiberglass cowl hood on it. The paint job was done back in the 80s, still looks awesome but could use a good claying and polish.

The interior could use a redo as it was done in typical 80s fashion. It is in good condition just not to everyones taste!

I am representing the current owner in this sale , car is being sold due to health issues. It is being sold "as is" with no warranty. I suggest that if you are interested in the car to either come and check it out yourself or send an inspector. The car is as solid as can be, it has always been in good hands and any work done was by pros... this ain't no junk! If you have any questions I can be reached either thru email or call daytime at 954-782-2263 or evenings 954-401-3480 ask for Bob

GM to restore legendary Corvette damaged in sinkhole accident

Fri, Dec 5 2014

Car lover's hearts' sank when they saw images of bent and destroyed classic Corvettes at the bottom of a sinkhole last February after the floor of the National Corvette Museum gave way. General Motors announced Wednesday it would restore the one millionth Corvette ever produced to its former glory. The 1992 convertible was heavily damaged when a 40-foot deep sinkhole opened beneath a bevy of rare cars at the National Corvette Museum in Bowling Green, Kentucky. Since then, GM has been slowly restoring the classic cars, though five of the eight that caught in the sinkhole were determined to be too damaged to repair. This November, the 2009 Corvette ZR1 Blue Devil was the first car to be returned in mint condition to the Museum, according to Autoblog. It suffered significant damage but was still drivable after being pulled out of the debris. The one millionth Corvette is still in bad shape. The automaker is estimating six months worth of work to restore the car, which sustained paint scratches, rear-suspension damage and a mangled front fender. Sunday Drive: A tale of old favorites and upcoming challengers

Sun, Oct 8 2017

Sedans and crossovers dominated the attention of our readers last week, led by the completely redesigned 2018 Honda Accord. It's the Japanese automaker's flagship, and people are seriously interested in finding out how good the latest Accord is. So interested, in fact, that no other single story came close to the brand-new Accord in Autoblog reader interest. Moving down the list we find the equally new 2018 Buick Enclave. The three-row crossover has a lot to offer a family, especially one looking for a nice, quiet ride. If you're looking for the exact opposite of nice and quiet, but still want enough room for you and your significant others, the Subaru WRX that we tested last week may be the perfect ride for you. Or, if you just want to drive fast and aren't at all worried about space, there's the Camaro SS. See? We offer something for everybody. From there, we look to the future. Who isn't interested in seeing the first fully electric vehicle from Porsche? And who isn't intrigued to see the Mission E testing alongside a gaggle of Teslas? A brand-new Jeep is always a big deal, especially when it's the revival of a classic nameplate like the Grand Wagoneer. And finally, we have something completely different: the Rezvani Tank. As always, tune in to Autoblog next week for a front-row seat to all the happenings worth following in the automotive industry. 2018 Honda Accord First Drive | Feels like home again 2018 Buick Enclave First Drive Review | Fortress of quietude 2018 Subaru WRX Drivers' Notes | Turbo traditionalist 2018 Chevy Camaro SS Drivers' Notes | Demonstrative power, middling interior Porsche Mission E caught testing against Teslas Jeep three-row SUV caught on public roads — Grand Wagoneer, perhaps? Steve McQueen's last movie car, now Pawn Stars-owned, up for auction [w/video]

Sun, 03 Feb 2013

The last car Steve McQueen ever drove in a movie is officially up for auction. The 1951 Chevrolet Styline DeLuxe Convertible you see above is now owned by none other than Rick Harrison of Pawn Stars fame, but once ferried McQueen around the set of his last film, 1980's The Hunter. That flick saw the Bullit star play a bumbling bounty hunter and didn't exactly set the box office on fire. McQueen bought the car after production wrapped, and four years later it sold at his estate sale at the Imperial Palace in Las Vegas.
Flash forward to 2003, and the convertible received a full restoration back to near-stock specifications. Hagerty Insurance estimates the car to be worth around $45,000 without the significant providence. Given its ties to one of film's most popular gearheads, the old Chevrolet could fetch up to 10 times that when it goes under the gavel in Ft Luaderdale, Florida on March 22. You can head over to the Auctions America site for more information. You can also check out the trailer for The Hunter below.
