FOR AUCTION IS A REAL 1966 CHEVROLET NOVA SS COUPE. THIS CAR WAS A SHOW CAR THAT WAS INVOLVED IN A SEVERE FIRE. THIS CAR IS BEING SOLD AS IS WHERE IS, SHOULD BE A PARTS CAR. THE VIN NUMBER IS INTACT ON THE DOOR POST, THE HIDDEN NUMBERS ON THE FIREWALL ARE THERE, THE TRIM TAG IS NOT(MELTED). THIS CAR HAS A CLEAN NY REGISTRATION. THE MOTOR HAS NOT BEEN TESTED BUT APPEARS GOOD, THE TRANSMISSION TAIL END IS MELTED. THE FIRE STARTED IN THE TRUNK FROM THE TRUNK MOUNTED BATTERY. THE CAR WAS A SHOW CAR, IT HAS ALL FRAME CONNECTORS, AFTERMARKET FRONT END, DISC BRAKE 10 BOLT REAR END. THE MOTOR HAS ALUMINUM HEADS. I DO NOT KNOW IF THE MOTOR IS THE ORIGINAL, AS I COULD NOT FIND VIN STAMP. THE CAR IS ON JACK STANDS, WHEN IT IS OFF JACK STANDS IT IS FLAT ON GROUND, AS THE SUSPENSION HAS FLATTENED OUT IN THE REAR AND THE TIRES ALL GONE. IT WILL NEED TO BE FLAT BEDDED. I KNOW WHEN CARS ARE INVOLVED IN FIRES THE METAL FATIGUES, BUT THE UNBOLTABLE FRONT FRAME AND SHOCK TOWERS ARE VERY SOLID. INSPECTION IS ENCOURAGED. Chevy monitors drivers' biometrics while experiencing new Corvette Stingray

We tell you about what a car is like to drive every day, remarking on throttle response, steering weight and feedback, squat, dive, brake fade and a dozen or more other factors of performance. What we can't tell you, though, is what the car does to us - how its performance impacts us, physically. That's what makes this video series from Chevrolet so darn cool.
The Bow-Tie brand rented out Spring Mountain Motorsports Ranch, got several (very) different individuals together, strapped a bunch of sensors to their bodies to record biometric data ranging from heart rate to respiration to brain activity, and then handed them keys to the new Chevrolet Corvette Stingray. The results are explained in a series of videos, devoted to each driver, showing how different people react to the Corvette's performance.
If, like your author, you're a nerd for medical science, this is going to be a fascinating set of videos. If not, it's still pretty cool to see how the body of someone with racing experience, like Gran Turismo creator Kazunori Yamauchi, reacts to tracking a car like the Corvette Stingray compared to the owner of legendary Detroit barbecue joint, Slows BBQ. GM admits goal of 500,000 EVs by 2017 won't be met

After a little over four years of Chevy Volt sales, General Motors has a better handle on how many people it expects will buy cars with plugs. And it's less than the company thought back in 2012, when then-senior vice president of global product development, Mary Barra, said that GM expected to sell 500,000 "vehicles with electrification" by 2017. In a sustainability report released this week, GM says that half-million vehicle target will not be met but that it still, "believes the future is electric." In the report, GM says that, "For our commitment to electrification, our forecasted outlook currently projects us, along with the broader automotive industry, falling short of expectations for 2017. ... We continue to aspire to our stated goal." GM's electric lineup includes the Volt, the recently popular Spark EV, the slow-selling Cadillac ELR and upcoming Malibu Hybrid, CT6 plug-in hybrid and eAssist technology in the Buick LaCrosse and Regal. GM says it has 180,834 electrified vehicles on the road in the US today. In 2013, it had 153,034; 95,578 in 2012, and 39,843 in 2011. The company's next big plug-in vehicle will be the second-gen Chevy Volt, which is coming to market later this year, followed by the 200-mile Bolt EV coming, we think, in 2017. 2016 Chevy Colorado and GMC Canyon recalled for opening console lids

The Basics: General Motors is recalling 9,200 examples of the 2016 Chevrolet Colorado with build dates between August 25, 2015 and September 24, 2015, and the 2016 GMC Canyon manufactured from August 28, 2015 to September 24, 2015. In total, 8,763 of these pickups are in the US, and the rest are in Canada or Mexico. The Problem: The console compartment lid could open in a crash, and the items inside the storage compartment might hit occupants during the accident. This fault puts the pickups out of compliance with the Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard. Injuries/Deaths: None reported. The fix: Dealers will replace the console compartment door latch assembly with an improved part. If you own one: GM has not yet told NHTSA when the repairs for these pickups begin. The affected vehicles have a console compartment lid latch assembly that may fail to keep the compartment door closed in the event of a crash. As such, these vehicles fail to comply with the requirements of the Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard (FMVSS) number 201, "Occupant Protection in Interior Impact." CONSEQUENCE: If the console compartment door does not remain closed in a crash, the contents stored in the console may strike the vehicle occupants, increasing their risk of injury. REMEDY: GM will notify owners, and dealers will replace the console compartment door latch assembly, free of charge. The manufacturer has not yet provided a notification schedule.
