1966 Chevy pro touring Nova, Let me start by saying I’m listing this car for a friend and don’t have any more to do with this car other than listing it. It is a very nice car and I sold it to him this car 3 years ago and he babied it. He did many things to the car over the three years. He changed the motor, transmission and rear end. This is a 116 vin and has been a ground up restoration. The Black paint on this car is incredible it looks wet and deep as you can see in the pictures. The body is very straight and no body panels have been replaced. There have been floor patches done over the period of years up front on the driver’s side and passenger side. The rear window doses have scratches on it but that doesn’t affect the way this car looks but I had to mention it. If you wanted it perfect you could replace the rear window if you choose to but it’s not necessary. All the other windows are very nice. The car is very fast and let me tell you what is in this professionally built motor. The motor has approx. 1,000 miles on it so its been tried and true. It is a 388 stroker motor with forged internals, aluminum heads with roller rockers, a cam, long tube Hooker headers, Air Gap intake, Holly carb, MSD coil, MSD Billet distributor, MSD control box, 6000 rev limiter, 9 quart Milodon oil pan, Aluminum radiator, heavy duty electric fan. The transmission is a built T-10 4 speed with a Hurst comp shifter, it has a Center force clutch and the car shifts very smooth. The rear end is a 10 bolt Richmond posi with 373 gears. The car has 3’’ H pipe exhaust that run to the rear of the car and the great sound comes from the series 40 Flow Master mufflers. The car gets its great stance because of the front and rear Air ride by Air Ride Technologies. The air tank and on board air compressor is mounted neatly in the nice clean trunk. The car stops very well because it has power disc brakes up front and the 17’’ and 18’’ chrome Rocket wheels really look great on the car. The interior is in really nice condition and the black on black is a killer combination. This car is a real attention getter with the great sound and the near flawless paint when it goes to any car event and is a show winner many times. The car is sold as is and I do require a 1,000 dollar deposit at the end of the auction and the balance within 5 days. My first choice is to sell the car but I will consider a trade but no motor cycles or projects. If you have a trade to offer please send pictures to dadofcars@yahoo.com and call 330-353-0959 if you have any questions. I do reserve the right to end the auction at any time as the car is for sale locally. The car can be viewed for inspection by appointment only and if shipping is needed I have a great shipper I can connect you with and he will ship anywhere in the US and Canada but shipping cost is your responsibility. Please call 330-353-0959

2023 Chicago Auto Show Mega Photo Gallery: See all the new cars from the show

Thu, Feb 16 2023

The 2023 Chicago Auto Show played host to a number of reveals this year, and we were there to capture all of them. In traditional auto show fashion, that means you’re getting a mega gallery of galleries to flip through and see all the vehicles on the show floor. Our EditorsÂ’ Picks from the show are already out — spoiler alert, the 2024 Toyota Grand Highlander took home the prize. That said, there were other important reveals like the 2024 Volkswagen Atlas and Atlas Cross Sport and the 2024 Subaru Crosstrek. We also learned some interesting tidbits, such as the fact that VW is considering a pickup, and Jeep owners really are plugging in. To see the photos, scroll on down and start flipping through those galleries.   2024 Toyota Grand Highlander 2024 Toyota Grand Highlander View 7 Photos 2024 Volkswagen Atlas 2024 Volkswagen Atlas View 14 Photos 2024 Volkswagen Atlas Cross Sport 2024 Volkswagen Atlas Cross Sport View 7 Photos 2024 Ford Mustang Dark Horse with its carbon fiber wheels 2024 Ford Mustang Dark Horse with carbon fiber wheels View 7 Photos 2024 Chevrolet Corvette E-Ray 2024 Chevrolet Corvette E-Ray View 10 Photos Jeep Wrangler Anniversary Editions Jeep Wrangler Anniversary Editions View 3 Photos 2023 BMW XM 2023 BMW XM View 6 Photos Ram Revolution Concept Ram Revolution Concept View 6 Photos NASCAR Chicago Street Race Pace Car — Toyota Camry NASCAR Chicago Street Race Pace Car ? GM already raising prices on 2014 Silverado and Sierra pickups

Mon, 14 Oct 2013

General Motors must be pretty pleased with sales of its two newest pickups, the GMC Sierra and Chevrolet Silverado, as it's announced price hikes for both models, as part of a planned price tweak.
Prices will be bumped by as much as $1,500, although weirdly, they'll be offset by as much as $1,500 in cash-back offers through the end of October. Fox Business reports that GM spokesman Jim Cain said of the price hike, "With the sell down of the '13 models nearly complete, this price adjustment was planned and is a normal part of business."
The move, as Fox is quick to point out, is an interesting one, as sales of the twin pickups struggled last month relative to the Ford F-Series, while both of GM's crosstown competitors have been aggressively undercutting Silverado and Sierra prices. The F-150 starts at $24,070 and the Ram 1500 comes in at $23,600, not counting any cash on the hood. A base Silverado, meanwhile, retails at $25,575.

The USPS needs 180,000 new delivery vehicles, automakers gearing up to bid

Wed, Feb 18 2015

Winning the New York City Taxi of Tomorrow tender was a huge prize for Nissan, even though the company is still working through the process of claiming its prize. The United States Postal Service has begun the process to take bids for a new delivery vehicle to replace the all-too-familiar Grumman Long Life Vehicle, and that will be a much larger plum for the automaker who wins it, perhaps worth more than six billion dollars. The Grumman LLV is an aluminum body covering a Chevrolet S-10 pickup chassis and General Motors' Iron Duke four-cylinder engine. The USPS bought them from 1987 to 1994, and the 163,000 of them still in service are a monumental drain on postal resources: they get roughly ten miles to the gallon instead of the quoted 16 mpg, drink up more than $530 million in fuel each year, and their constant repair needs like the balky sliding door and leaky windshields have led the service to increase the annual maintenance budget from $100 million to $500 million. A seat belt is about as modern as it gets for safety technology, and the USPS says that assuming things stay the same, it can't afford to run them beyond 2017. Last year it put out two triage requests for proposals seeking 10,000 new chassis and drivetrains for the Grumman and 10,000 new vehicles. The LLV is also too small for the modern mail system in which package delivery is growing and letter delivery is declining. The service says it doesn't have a fixed idea of the ideal "next-generation delivery vehicles," but it listed a number of requirements in its initial request and is open to any proposal. Carriers have some suggestions, though, saying they want better cupholders, sun visors that they can stuff letters behind, a driver's compartment free of slits that can swallow mail, and a backup camera. The request for information sent to automakers pegs the tender at 180,000 vehicles that would cost between $25,000 and $35,000 apiece, and it will hold a conference on February 18 to answer questions about the contract. GM is the only domestic maker to avow an interest, while Ford and Fiat-Chrysler have remained cagey. Yet with a possible $6.3 billion up for grabs and some new vans for sale that would be advertised on every block in the country, we have a feeling everyone will be listening closely come February 18. We also have a feeling the LeMons series is going to be flooded with Grummans come 2017. News Source: Wall Street Journal, Automotive News - sub.
