I am listing this car for a friend, who is not interested in dealing with people, or having anything to do with computers.

This is a beautiful 66 Chevy Nova hard top, no dents, dings, chipped paint, or scratches.  The car has a new crate 350 motor and a rebuilt Muncie close ratio 4 speed trans. The car has a 10 bolt rear end , not sure what the gear ratio is. This car is a well kept and garaged car, that has never been abused. This is an original miles car, with the Nova SS interior trim and console. This car looks like a sleeper, but don't let that fool you. When  you place the key in the ignition and turn it on, she fires on the first turn and sounds just a little on the wicked side, even though the exhaust isn't loud, just sounds bad to the bone. This little Nova hasn't been beat to death most of it's life, like a lot of these cars have been, she does have the power and punch to run with the best of the old muscle cars, even with the ones with the big block motors. This car runs, drives and rides like a Nova  you would have driven back in 1966, a very tight riding and driving car.  The doors close easy and they close tight, the windshield and back glass are new with new seals, the door and trunk seals are new, no water leaks. All the chrome and bright work on this car is beautiful. The brakes stop great, no pulling to one side, or the other, anything and everything on this car works correct. This car needs nothing, its ready to drive, or show, anywhere,  at any time. This car is mechanically sound throughout the whole drive train.( Interior, new with SS trim. ) (Tires, new.) ( Exhaust, new.) (Braking system, new). ( Drive line new) (Clutch & pressure plate, new.) (Electrical system is new.) Starter is new, Carb. is new, everything on and in this car is crisp and clean, very tasteful. This car is not an SS car and he is not looking for the price of a Nova SS. This is a very tight and solid car, professionally done with a very nicely done finish with the best Dupont, base coat / clear coat paint , that Dupont has to offer. Why is he selling the Nova? Well, he is a die-hard Pontiac man from back in his youth, the Nova doesn't fit in his collection. Just in case, you happen to have a old Pontiac to his liking, he might make a swap?

Thank you very much  for your time checking out the old Nova. Any 0 feedback bidders, please contact me before you place your bids, Any bidders with negative feedback, please contact me before you place any bids.  Remember to ask any and all your questions while the auction is live.

GM says hybrid Corvette no laughing matter [w/poll]

Fri, 30 Aug 2013

When Mark Reuss was in LA recently, he sat down to have a few words with the scribes at the Los Angeles Times. When the issue of a hybrid Corvette came up, Reuss answered with "Don't laugh." The General Motors president is a complete fan of the possibility, calling it "attractive" and "really fun," believing it would improve GM expertise and that "people would love it."
Naturally, the president being supportive of an idea doesn't give indication that a hybrid Corvette is on the way. However, with supercars like the Porsche 918 Spyder and Ferrari LaFerrari giving hybrid tech a solid, if remote, place in the performance car world, the inexorable trickle-down of technology means we shouldn't be surprised if and when it does happen.
And now that we have that non-negative half-answer to a speculative question, it would be irresponsible for us not to commence rumormilling for the C8 Corvette. Taking Reuss at his word, the C8 will obviously be a hybrid with all-wheel-drive - the left side wheels driven with electric motors, the right side with the mid-mounted, four-cylinder diesel engine. With coefficient of drag of just .16, figure on a 0-to-60 mile-per-hour time of under 2 seconds and an all-electric range of something like 30 miles at top speed. Don't forget, folks, you read it here first.

GM files to trademark name Badlands

Mon, Feb 23 2015

If you've been hoping for General Motors to come out swinging at the Ford F-150 Raptor, we've had some tantalizing news for you of late. Last month we brought you a report that indicated GM has trademarked the name "Z71 Trail Boss," suggesting a potential hardcore off-roader. Now it seems the General has filed for a potentially even better name. That name, as our friends over at GM Authority have discovered, is "Badlands." The application, filed on February 16, indicates that it's for a truck, but of course it doesn't specify just what form it would take... or for that matter, under which division it would fall. So we could, in theory, be looking at the nameplate for a Raptor rival from Chevy or GMC (like the 2011 Sierra All Terrain HD concept pictured here), or for some other trim level, a concept truck, a special edition... just about anything. Heck, it could be for a Vauxhall, Opel or Holden for all we know at this point. Or GM could choose not to use it on anything at all, but here's hoping it'll emerge as something awesome in US showrooms sometime soon. First 2015 Chevy Corvette Z06 engine blows up at just 891 miles

Thu, Jan 1 2015

You've waited and watched and waited some more for the arrival of your 650-horsepower, $78,000 Chevrolet Corvette Z06. Finally, that joyous day arrives and you eagerly, but gingerly, begin to break-in the 6.2-liter supercharged V8 monster under your hood. Then 900-odd miles after delivery, your excitement grinds, quite literally, to a halt. That's what the owner of one 2015 Z06 claimed happened to him when a simple break-in drive resulted in a lunched engine. The owner, known as Lawdogg149 on Corvette Forum, says he was out breaking-in his car ahead of a January track event when it happened. "While making a pull from 35 miles per hour, I accelerated and shifted short of redline, and boom - the car began knocking. I pulled over and popped the hood. I could hear a loud knock coming from the No. 6 cylinder area along with a serious, grinding, metal-on-metal sound coming from the supercharger area," Lawdogg wrote. A subsequent trip to the dealer confirmed his concerns, with the service facility telling Lawdogg that the No. 6 valvetrain had failed. The dealer couldn't research the issue further, though, as General Motors requested the engine be returned for a more thorough evaluation. The good news for the Z06's unlucky owner, at least, is that GM will be covering the engine replacement under warranty, an expense that Corvette Forum estimates is a nearly $24,000 procedure. At this point, the two leading theories behind the engine's detonation involve a manufacturing defect – which could be why GM is so keen to tear the blown powerplant down – or a mistake on the part of Lawdogg. As Motor Authority points out, such an error could be something as simple as the Z06's owner accidentally shifting to first rather than third during his 35-mph pull. If, however, there's a deeper manufacturing problem with the Z06's engine, this might not be the only case we end up hearing about.
