1966 Chevy Ii Nova Pro Touring Project on 2040-cars
Minerva, Ohio, United States
1966 Chevy Nova two door sedan. I started making a pro touring car. It has a Flaming River rack and pinion, tubular upper and lower a arms ( from TRZ Motorsports ), coil over springs, and wildwood disc brakes on the front. The rear suspension is a pro touring kit from Total Cost Involved that is the torsion bar style with rear coil overs. I used the factory 10 bolt rear end. I have stripped the car down to metal. There is one small rust spot on drivers side front fender down were it meets the rocker. Not rusted thru about the size of a quarter. It has all the original sheet metal and the floor pans, trunk pans, door jambs, cowl area, and back window are A-1. All the places these cars are known for going bad are in excellent shape. The engine compartment and the front wheel wells have been sanded down and shot back in primer ready for paint. The underside of the car just needs sanded down and painted hardly any undercoating. Back wheel wells have under coating in them but is thin. The dash has been sanded down to metal and shot back in primer ready for paint. I have all the side glass but do not have a windshield or back window. I have a factory back seat but do not have a front seat. I have a new Flaming River steering column and the knuckles to hook it up. I have a 6.0 liter motor out of a 2004 Chevrolet Silverado with 70,000 miles on it. I do have all the motor mounts and plates to put it in the car. I have a set of stainless steel headers for a nova with an LS motor. I also have the 4 speed bell housing. I have already had the motor in the car and everything fits nicely. If you would like more information feel free to email me or call/text at 330-205-2811. Thanks for looking Brandon. I do have the car for sale locally so I do reserve the right to end the auction early

Mark Reuss: GM can't afford product 'misses,' has 'thought about' CT6 V-Series
Thu, Apr 9 2015Mark Reuss is a busy man. He oversees General Motors' global product portfolio, an all-encompassing task for a company that sold more than 9.9 million cars and trucks last year. When GM launches a well-received product, like the road-going rocket ship that is the Chevrolet Corvette Z06 – he gets credit. When the company stumbles with the slow-selling Chevy Malibu or grapples with fallout from the decade-old Saturn Ion and its flawed ignition switch, he gets blamed. GM owners, the press and sometimes the federal government, demand answers. Bob Lutz famously held the job before Reuss. So did Mary Barra, who's now GM's chief executive. There's a New GM, but the lineage is connected to a long history. When he's not thinking product, Reuss, an executive vice president, also runs the purchasing and supply chain for the company, which is still one of the largest industrial empires in the world. We caught up with Reuss on the floor of the New York Auto Show, where GM had just rolled out two crucial new products: the 2016 Cadillac CT6 and the 2016 Chevrolet Malibu. Speaking with a small group of reporters, Reuss delved into a variety of subjects, including the new Malibu, Cadillac's future (he thinks the ATS-V is going to "flame the M3 and M4"), and other topics. On fixing the Malibu: "We can't miss. We can't have those kinds of misses [like the previous generation] on our cars and crossovers and trucks. We can't do that. If we do that, we give a reason for someone to go buy something else. It's that simple. "On a car like the Malibu we have a chance to really fix all of that, which we have, and then lead. Then you've got a real opportunity there. So that's what we've really been focused on here – to fix those things." He later added: "We need that car here to transform Chevrolet desperately because it's the heart of the market. And when you think of Chevrolet, people will come back and think about what we did with the [new] Malibu and the Cruze... It's hugely important to us." On Cadillac: "If we go out and try and out-German the Germans, it's probably not going to work. We've got an opportunity here generationally where there's a lot of people younger than me that have parents that drove BMWs and Mercedes, and I think there's an opportunity there for those people to drive something different than what their parents did, and I think that's always been an opportunity in the auto industry if you look at the history of it.

Body shop manager stole over $500,000 worth of government trucks and parts
Fri, Jan 27 2017The US Department of Justice announced yesterday that the manager of a collision and restoration business in Virginia admitted he helped misappropriate and sell vehicles and parts from the State Department. Specifically, he sold 12 Chevrolet Suburbans, a Hummer, and $7,500 worth of tires and wheels. He pled guilty to charges to commit theft of government property and wire fraud. He will likely see 18 to 20 months in prison, a fine of $4,000 to $40,000, and has already agreed to pay restitution of $416,020 and asset forfeiture of the same amount. According to the Department of Justice, the body shop manager, James Ratcliffe, worked with the owner of the business and a State Department official, both unnamed, to obtain the property. It started with the wheels and tires, which were delivered and sold on two occasions, one in 2011 and another in 2012. The trucks came later, and were sold throughout 2011 and 2013. Ratcliffe and the shop owner kept most of the profits, and shared some of the leftovers with the government official. In addition to the vehicles that were sold, the government official also gave Ratcliffe a pair of Suburbans for his own personal use. The Department of Justice estimated the total value of the SUVs at $96,400. In total, the group misappropriated $512,420 worth of property. Related Video:
