I am listing a 1966 Chevy II Nova for sale for a friend. The copper metallic paint is shiny however not new paint and has a few blemishes here and there, age of the paint is unknown. The car has most of the original trim including the rocker moldings, grille and chrome front and rear bumpers. Windows have been tinted. The car has a short style cowl induction hood. The black interior consists of bucket seats with vinyl and cloth inserts and the rear seat was stitched to match the front. Interior has center console and a Sony cd/mp3/am/fm player in dash stereo. There are also a set of aftermarket gauges under the dash and a column mounted tachometer. Inside the truck is a very nice spatter finish and a reproduction trunk mat for a clean look. The rear quarters were replaced prior to paint and the car shows no signs of rust as the car was purchased from the south. The engine is a Walden built 383 with a hydraulic roller cam, Edelbrock high rise intake, aluminum heads, Holley carburetor and ceramic coated headers that flow into Flowmaster exhaust. The engine is cooled by an aluminum radiator. There is just the right combination of aluminum and chrome under the hood to set it off. The transmission is a built TH350 with stall converter. The 3 speed automatic is on the floor with a Cheetah Turbo Action shifter. The rear end is a 12 bolt with an Eaton carrier 3.42 posi. The wheels are Billet Specialites with 185/65/15 radials up front and 235/60/15 Mickey Thompson Drag radials in the rear and the tires are near new all the way around. Disc brake conversion on the front. The car is very snappy, fun to drive and handles well. The car looks great and drives like it should and was built to run and cruise at the same time. GM recalls full-size truck, SUVs and vans over faulty shifter mechanism
Mon, 07 Jan 2013Twelve different General Motors vehicles from the 2013 model year, up to 54,686 units in total, are being recalled over two potential issues with their steering columns. The models in question, all full-size trucks, SUVs or vans, are the: Cadillac Escalade, Escalade ESV, Escalade EXT, Chevrolet Avalanche, Express, Silverado, Suburban, Tahoe, and GMC Savana, Sierra, Yukon and Yukon XL.
The affected vehicles were built with a fractured parking lock cable or "a malformed steering column lock actuator gear in the lock module assembly." As a consequence, they could shift out of park without the brake pedal being applied or with the key removed or in the off position.
A bulletin from the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration indicates that the recall should begin on January 17. GM will notify owners, at which time they can take their vehicles to their dealers for repair free of charge. Have a look at the bulletin below for more information.

Thu, 07 Feb 2013For a concept car built to promote an animated movie about a snail that wants to go racing, this thing ain't half bad. The outsized monster you see before you started life as a Chevrolet Camaro ZL1, and then went through a big-time Hollywood makeover before being positioned on the Chevrolet stand here in Chicago.
This 2013 "Turbo" Camaro Coupe is getting the promotion machine ratcheted up for a new DreamWorks tale by the name of, you guessed it, Turbo. Coming this summer, the movie will follow one snail's quest to become a race driver worthy of making the cut at the Indy 500. Like many DreamWorks vehicles before it, we're guessing that the petrolhead snail will star in a movie that adults (especially racing fans) with have no trouble watching with their kids. Check out the trailer below to see if you agree.
As for the car, we're told that it is "instrumental" in transforming Turbo from snail into racer. Helping the beastly pony car in this mighty task, is an ankle-cracking front splitter matched by a ungodly huge rear wing out back, a COPO hood and a supercharged (yes, supercharged) V8 engine making more than 700 horsepower. 24-inch wheels all the way around - 10-inches wide in front and 15-inches wide in back - should allow the "Turbo" Camaro to hook up with ease, as well.

Fri, 24 Aug 2012It happens every year. We bid adieu to some cars and trucks that will be missed, and say good riddance to others wondering how they stayed around so long. Whether they're being killed off for slow sales or due to a new product coming along to replace them, the list of vehicles being discontinued after 2012 is surprisingly long and diverse.
CNN Money has compiled a list of departing vehicles, to which we've added a few more of our own. In the slow sales column, cars like the Lexus HS 250h, Mercedes-Benz R-Class and the full Maybach lineup appear, while the Ford Escape Hybrid, Mazda CX-7 and Hyundai Veracruz are all having their gaps filled with more modern and more fuel-efficient alternatives. Obvious exceptions to the rule include models that still sell in decent numbers like the Jeep Liberty and the Chrysler Town & Country (which will eventually be replaced by a crossover-like vehicle).
