This 1965 Chevy II has been owned by the same man for 30 years. It is believed to be a very old SS clone transformation done with all used GM parts. The mileage shows 22,119 I'm sure its rolled over and is 122,119.  It has been in storage since 2000.  We drained the old gas, cleaned and sealed the tank, refueled it and it started right up.  Runs and stops great.  It is an easy project car to make this a sweet and valuable collectible.  Or drive it like it is.  As far as we know, all of the parts are original.  The car has very little rust and the undercarriage is very solid with only minor surface rust .Once again this is a very solid car with only a few small rust holes ,no rot, tight pinch welds Ect.. As a auto body man of over 30 years  I can assure this is a dream restoration if that's the path you take . The driver's seat is torn, both the top and bottom sections.  In the photo, you'll note the radio and glove box are missing. They are in the trunk. The air conditioning does not work, left rear brake is not hooked up .   Real nice original wire-spoke hubcaps with the spinner centers.  There are two engines available for sale that the owner also has (he was a Chevy II collector and expert) one is a straight 6 and the other is the same 283 V8, a package deal could be arranged.  There are also more parts and a full set of Eagle SS raised letter radial tires. This would not take much to put on the road.some brake work and seat covers door panels i think you would be good to go, with a paint job in good time! We will be happy to answer any questions to the best of our knowledge. That being said, this car is pushing 50 years old and is being sold AS IS.

800k car names trademarked globally, suddenly alphanumerics seem reasonable

Tue, 01 Oct 2013

What's in a name? This cliched phrase probably gets tossed out at every marketing meeting that happens when a new car gets its nomenclature. We know the answer, though: everything. The name of a car has all the potential to make or break it with fickle customers that are more conscious than ever about what their purchases say about them.
That's giving headaches to marketing folks across the automotive industry. "It's tough. In 1985 there were about 75,000 names trademarked in the automotive space. Today there are 800,000," Chevrolet's head of marketing, Russ Clark, told Automotive News. Infiniti's president, Johan de Nysschen, echoed Clark's sentiment, saying, "The truth of the matter is, across the world, there is hardly a name or a letter that hasn't already been claimed by one car manufacturer or another. You can go through the alphabet - A, B, C and so forth - and you will quickly see that almost all available letters are taken."
What has that left automakers to do? Get creative. In the case of Infiniti, it made the controversial move to bring all of its cars' names into a new scheme, classifying them as Q#0 for cars and QX#0 for SUVs and crossovers. So the Infiniti G, which was available as the G25 and G37, is now the Q50. The FX37 and FX50 are now the QX70.
