Here I have a near all original 63 chevy II no post car. It has front disc brake conversion with 5 lug pattern and 5 lug rear axles installed. It has Crager rims. It has the original 194ci straight six in it and original powerglide trans. Car was on the road last year. It runs and drives great. Original interior needs to be redone, it just has a couple tears. I drove it how it is. Body is in great shape but does need a paint job.
For extra parts I have the following: original power assist steering setup saginaw 3 speed with shifter two original 3 speed trans from a 62 and a 64 i believe.(for column shift) I also have a 3 on the tree column and I should have all the linkage. New rear window seal spare 250ci straight six engine I have many more pics of the car, just message me to see them. Thank you. and if a reasonable price is agreed upon I have a 88 C4 front clip that I was going to put under it that I can throw in. Watch how Corvette Racing's new collision-avoidance radar system works
Fri, 22 Mar 2013When it comes to technology used in racecars, we generally expect it to trickle down to production cars, not the other way around. Well, Pratt & Miller has developed a new rear-facing radar that operates in a similar fashion to what we're used to in modern blind spot detection systems, only it is also capable of tracking cars as they approach and relaying vital information to the driver via a large display screen.
The innovative radar system debuted at last weekend's 12 Hours of Sebring for Corvette Racing, and this system makes perfect sense for endurance races like this since the cars sometimes have to drive through the night and in poor weather conditions.
The radar can detect cars even with poor visibility, and uses easy-to-distinguish symbols for the driver to identify.

Vert-A-Pac train cars kept your Chevy Vega's price in check
Fri, 01 Mar 2013Our apologies to those who've seen this before, but for the rest of the class, how awesome are these pictures of the Vert-A-Pac shipping system General Motors came up with to ship the Chevrolet Vega back in the 1970s? Developed along with Southern Pacific Railroad, GM was able to double the amount of Vega models it could ship by packing them into the unique storage cars vertically.
At the time, rail cars could fit 15 vehicles each, but Chevrolet was able to lower shipping costs by making it possible to ship 30 Vegas per rail car, in turn allowing the price of the Vega to remain as low as possible. Each rail car had 30 doors that would fold down so that a Vega could be strapped on, and then a forklift would come along and lift the door into place. All the cars were positioned nose down, and since they were shipped with all of their required fluids, certain aspects had to be designed specifically for this type of shipping, including an oil baffle in the engine, a special battery and even a repositioned windshield washer reservoir.
