Two owner car, first my mother, then myself. I actually ordered this car for her when I worked at a chevy dealership as a mechanic. She had the car until 2002 when she pasted away and I have had it ever since. The car has been well maintained by me. ( I am a mechanic of 30 yrs) There was about a 5 year period when she lived in florida where I could not see the car. The car is all original except for the radio that stopped working.(I still have it) The trans was rebuilt at about 50k. Some of the 200-4R transmissions had front pump problems and this was one of them. Other than that, no other mechanical issues. Replaced the rear main oil seal 3k ago, no other major leaks. The engine runs very well. No smoke on start up. The trans has been fine ever since the rebuild. Body wise it is in good shape. It is pretty much a rust free car. There are a few dime size rust spots coming thru the paint but, no rust holes. In 96, the roof got dented from the carport falling on it.(From 3 feet of snow on it) No other accidents than that. The left outside door handel needs to be replaced and a couple of plastic strips on the rear bumper needs to be replaced. It has the 60-40 bench seat instead of bucket seats. (Sorry, that's what mom wanted) Not sure how many came that way, it could make it more rare. The interior is in great shape. The dash has a couple of cracks but, the seats, carpet and headliner all look great. This is a great chance the get one of these that is unmolested. It is all there. Happy bidding!!

China's rise, global restructuring wither GM's Korea division
Wed, Jan 7 2015An article in the Daily Kanban suggests the sun is setting on GM Korea, and it could already be well into dusk. GM Korea came about when General Motors, along with co-investors SAIC and Suzuki, bought Daewoo Motors from parent company Daewoo Group in 2001; it had a previous tie-up with GM, a joint venture that ended in 1992, although Daewoo cars were based on GM cars until 1996. Over the decade following the purchase, it became such an important part of operations that it was renamed GM Korea in 2011, "to reflect its heightened status in [the] global operations of GM." Just two years later, the printed rumors were that the subsidiary responsible for a fifth of Chevrolet's global production could be shutting down. The division's sales were down almost 21 percent through November of last year, counting domestic South Korean sales, exports, and CKD – Complete Knock Down – products. That makes the labor strife, already an issue for four years, even more acute, reports say the subsidiary will lose $36 million a year if it can't get the job and wage cuts it wants, and government concessions can't make up for the losses. And it gets worse, so head over to Daily Kanban to read the rest of the story.
Train derailment leaves Jeep, GMC, Chevy pickups damaged in Nevada
Thu, Jul 11 2019An unfortunate train derailment is causing some inevitable delays for pickup truck customers west of Nevada. Yesterday morning, 33 train cars derailed in Lincoln County, and the cargo that was being transported consisted of new Jeep Gladiators and Wranglers along with Chevrolet Silverados and GMC Sierras, judging from the photos released by the Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office. The train derailment also caused the adjacent road to be closed, and local law enforcement recommends the area is to be avoided as long as it takes to clean it all up. In the photos, damaged Jeeps and other trucks sit either on their wheels or shiny-side-down as the incident is being assessed. Available information says there were thankfully no personal injuries, but itÂ’s not likely any of these trucks will end up in customer hands, even with a significant discount. Pre-registration transport damage, significant or not, has often resulted in scrapping complete vehicles so that manufacturers can steer clear of liability issues. Hooniverse.com, which also reported on the incident, notes a couple of interesting things. Firstly, the upended Gladiator seems to have a pretty sturdy support structure for its glasshouse, thanks to its new rollbars. Another matter is that the GM trucks, also pictured, wear discreet and temporary transport steel wheels instead of fancier items, perhaps to deter thieves eager to grab a shiny set from trucks on their way to the dealer. Still, itÂ’s a shame these vehicles could never fulfill their hauling purposes in the hands of new owners. Perhaps the manufacturers can at least use the damage for data-gathering purposes.
