today I am listing my 1977 monte carlo landau coupe for sale this car had been stored for many years prior to me purchasing the car I bought this car to give to my girl friend as a gift I have done lots of work to the car prior to us breaking up and I have no interest in finishing the car even though it is so close to being done started with a very solid body almost rust free the undercarriage and trunk are very solid the florida sun deteriorated the paint and vynal top I just had the car proffesionally painted the original black the paint has been 1200 wet block sanded then it was 3000 wet sanded and buffed to a deep shine the pic of my watch shows how deep the shine actually is that is the reflection you are seeing I then had a new vynal top installed on the car by a professional shop I also had them install a new headliner and new molded carpet the rear seat has been reapholstered and the 2 front swivel buckets will need to be recovered but I do have new covers for the front seats and will need to be dyed as I could only find the new ones in blue and is easy to do as I did the rear seat already and looks great this car has many options such as swivel buckets console shift pwr windows tilt wheel ac the trunk lighr and under hood light still work on the car I think the pass window will need to be looked at it was working the car has dual exhaust the motor and trans functions properly I had spacers put under the springs to lift it I wanted to put some 8inch rallys with 275 60s all around that would really set this car off the tires are dry rotted and will need to be changed this will make someone a nice classic with minimal work my buy it now is way less then I have in invested but my loss is your gaine you could not buy a project and get it to this condition for what I am selling it for car is sold as is deposits none refundable all questions will be answered promptly thanks for looking

Indian tuner turns Chevy Optra into Mustang 'Eleanor' replica
Fri, 03 Aug 2012If you are a big fan of automotive oddities, this may come as a little treat. If you are a Shelby or Mustang diehard, prepare to have your sensibilities violated.
The master fabricators at BigDaddyCustoms are the minds behind what you see above. At first, it appears to be a slightly misshapen custom Mustang, modeled after "Eleanor" from Gone In 60 Seconds, but upon further examination, something appears to be amiss. In fact, the custom shop, based in India, has created an Eleanor replica grafted upon a lowly Chevrolet Optra. While it may take a second for the Optra to ring a bell, you should recognize its badge-engineered sibling, the Daewoo Lacetti, used on Top Gear.
We don't know what star would opt for the Reasonably Priced Car in Shelby's clothing, but it's clearly someone more concerned with the aesthetic than the performance credentials of this automotive mash-up.
GM puts 3 million miles on hydrogen fuel cell test fleet
Mon, May 12 2014Have General Motors' hydrogen fuel-cell vehicles emitted enough water vapor over the past six-plus years to equal the steam coming out of Old Faithful? Not exactly, but GM has released a few figures related to the Project Driveway initiative it began in 2007. The numbers are impressive, if not quite of the geyser-spouting variety. In all, the General converted 119 Chevrolet Equinox SUVs to run on hydrogen, and those vehicles have just collectively surpassed the 3 million mile mark. And if you were waiting for us to tell you that the distance equals a half-dozen round trips between the earth and the moon, well, there you go. The better news is that the SUVs have combined to save almost 158,000 gallons worth of gas, and some of the vehicles have more than 120,000 miles on them. More than 5,000 drivers have participated in the project. GM reached that landmark about 10 months after it announced that it was working with Honda to accelerate the development of hydrogen fuel-cell powertrain technology. The two companies estimated last summer that it may have something to sell to the public as soon as 2020. For now, you can check out General Motors' press release below. GM Fuel Cell Fleet Tops 3 Million Miles Chevrolet Equinox fuel cell vehicles driven in real world reach milestone DETROIT – General Motors' fleet of fuel cell vehicles recently passed 3 million miles of hydrogen-powered, real-world driving. Some individual vehicles have accumulated more than 120,000 miles. By GM's estimate, using hydrogen to power these vehicles, the fleet has avoided 157,894 gallons of gasoline consumption. This specially equipped fleet of Chevrolet Equinox Fuel Cell vehicles are part of GM's 119-vehicle Project Driveway program, which launched in 2007. Since then, more than 5,000 drivers have provided feedback on the functionality and drivability of fuel cell technology. "Hydrogen fuel cell technology is an important part of GM's advanced propulsion portfolio and we continue to make substantial progress in furthering this technology," said Charlie Freese, executive director of GM's global fuel cell engineering activities. "These vehicles have operated through seven full winters and a wide range of environmental conditions, proving that fuel cells can meet the demands of real-world drivers." Chevy Chaparral 2X Vision Gran Turismo concept blends the past and the future
Wed, 19 Nov 2014The Chevrolet Chaparral 2X Vision Gran Turismo is the rare concept car that salutes a seminal moment in history, yet also borders on science fiction.
Revealed Wednesday at the Los Angeles Auto Show, the concept uses the name of one of Chevy's historic racing partnerships, with Chaparral Racing, which dates to the 1960s. Chaparrals raced successfully at a range of levels, including IndyCar, Trans-Am and SCCA competition.
But the history ends there, as the concept's main purpose is as a racecar in a downloadable update for the PlayStation 3 game Gran Turismo 6.
