Super clean 1972 Monte Carlo 350 Engine, edlebrock intake and carb. Long tube headers with 3" Magnaflow exhaust with X-pipe. Car is not loud, just a slight rumble. Fresh rebuilt TH350 transmission. New shocks and springs. Very clean and solid. Inside door seams are perfect. All original sheet metal. Trunk and floors all perfect. Needs no rust repair and non has ever been done. Very slight buble on left side from under vinyl roof. See pic. Interior is very nice, carpet has some wear but new carpet in the box in the correct saddle color comes with the car. Left front seat will need repair to vinyl to be perfect. see pic. This car dives down the road perfect. I would drive it anywhere. Original a/c car but condenser and compressor were removed at some point but nothing else was cut. Radio was removed from dash, dash was not cut, wiring is there and also stock front speakers, car has no rears and never did. Factory bucket seats and console with horse shoe shifter. Next Corvette ZR1 to get 700 horsepower?
Tue, 19 Feb 2013Word has it General Motors may offer as much as 700 horsepower in the C7 Corvette ZR1. Motor Trend reports the next Corvette Z06 will continue to rely on its naturally aspirated 7.0-liter V8 engine for thrust, but the lump will deliver substantially more power. How much more? MT says the engine could deliver up to 600 ponies. That's a jump of 95 horsepower over the current Z06, though no figures have been finalized as of yet. Right now, GM is reportedly waiting to see what sort of grunt it can glean from the next ZR1.
The automaker has already made it clear it will resurrect the LT5 name for the new supercharged V8, and if GM is already pulling 600 from the Z06, the big dog ZR1 would theoretically offer 700 horsepower. Either way, the range-topping Corvette will be suitably insulated from its less potent siblings. Stay tuned. We aren't likely to see the Z06 for at least a year, with the ZR1 trailing along at some point there after.
2014 Chevrolet Malibu gets more torque, more room and inspiration from the Impala
Fri, 31 May 2013The 2014 Chevrolet Malibu, having stared at the Impala across the showroom floor for a year, gets nips and tucks all over inspired by its larger brother. The 2.5-liter four-cylinder in the base car will get a stop-start system and 23 city miles per gallon, 35 highway, each number representing a one-mpg improvement over the 2013 car. Output is 196 horsepower and 186 pound-feet of torque.
Opt for the 2.0-liter turbo and, while power holds steady at 259 hp, torque goes up by 14 percent to a striking 295 lb-ft (a figure Chevy calls best in the class). The final details include newly programmed transmission shift points and faster shifts, for better engaging and enjoying the added power.
Looks-wise, the grille's been reshaped to be more in line with the new Chevrolet look, a narrower upper grille hovering over a larger lower grille.
