1971 Monte Carlo on 2040-cars

Year:1971 Mileage:123
Location:

Queen Creek, Arizona, United States

This is a 1971 Monte Carlo Base Model with a "STRONG" 350 4 Barrel with a 350 Transmission.....Connected to a pair of Old School (Walker Blue Streak Allied Mufflers).......It initially was a Oregon car that I found in Arizona with 123xxxx miles on it with an (A Tittle).  I've only owned the car for a little over 1 month, since then I have put a few hundred dollars into it to bring it to my likings.....The car has been repainted I don't know when it was repainted but it was repainted the same color with very light ghost flames on the doors & hood.  The car has a few tiny rust bubbles & one that's the size of a 50? piece under the paint near the vinyl top (See Pic's) About 4 or 5 minor, minor, minor dings/chips as an Old Car might have......The interior is in AWESOME shape!  No Holes, Rips, Frey's or Cracks! Chrome trim & Glass is in Awesome Shape!
As you can see I've had the car on a few lift's fixing little things here & there since owning it.....I don't like leaks on my garage floor!  But unfortunately It has a small one that needs to be tracked down.
....

New Motor Mounts, New Battery & Alternator, Hoses, Belts, Exhaust Pipes/Tips, All Weather Stripping is New & some other cosmetic items.  New Stereo & Speaker & Wiring...(6x9's) not hooked up because the stereo place said I would need to run a amp..?  AC WORKS from low to full blast!!!!!  I drove the car for recreational from QC Arizona to Tolleson many of times & have had NO problems with anything!!!!!  SOLID!
Items that may need some attention or you can leave as is......The passenger side door handle is tricky when pushing the handle in to open it...(You have to push it slow to open it, but from the inside it works great.)  The shift cable....P-R-N-D-L2-L1...sticks. The Hood Hinges are worn & will not hold up the hood. (I have new Hood Hinges on order & will be in the trunk of the car.) Besides that the car is well worth the dollar amount.  I see people with MC's in the same year era looking for top dollar!  I just want to sale it & work on my other car, no sob story here.  Now being a 70's car it still may need some work done to the suspension, Air shocks look worn & the front & back springs might need to be replaced. It's up to you?  I'm not selling you a dream, I'm selling A CLEAN HARD 8.5 OUT of 10 1971 Monte Carlo!!!!!!!  & it's as clean as the pic's!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!  No reserve if it sales for $1.00 more then that's what it will sale for....Good Luck & always as questions.

Recharge Wrap-up: Chevy Volt CarPlay video, Tesla Supercharger importance

Fri, Feb 5 2016

A video demonstrates Apple CarPlay on the touch display in the next-generation Chevrolet Volt. The Volt's eight-inch (bigger than an iPad Mini) capacitive display is capable of putting Siri and your iPhone apps and right at your fingertips. It's "the best CarPlay display I've seen," says the user in the video. In case you're not in the market for a new Volt, 9to5Mac offers some of its favorite aftermarket CarPlay screens. See the video above, and read more at 9to5Mac. A single Supercharger can make a big difference in the life of a Tesla owner. Teslarati's Electric Jen talks about purchasing a Model S, being assured by both Tesla employees and the map of planned Supercharger sites that one would be built along an important route for her. With the construction being pushed back, it made visiting family tricky. "As if owning such a grand car isn't embarrassing enough, asking for a ride to drop off and pick up said car because you can't make it home without charging really made me feel awkward," she says. "You see, one single charging location can mean the world to some people," Jen adds. Read the whole article at Teslarati. Tesla once had considered creating mobile range extender trailers for the Model S. Elon Musk touched upon the abandoned idea during his visit to Paris. While Tesla ultimately dismissed the concept, Nomadic Power has taken the opportunity to hitch their product onto the Tesla brand. "We are delighted, that Tesla Motors' CEO Elon Musk is thinking about a concept like ours for even more extending the range of the Tesla models," says Nomadic Power's CEO Manfred Baumgaertner. He adds, "This confirms our approach to build a long distance mobility provider for all electric vehicles on the market." If you say so, Baumgaertner. When the batteries have degraded to the point that they're no longer suitable for use on the road, they still have a significant capacity that can be used for other purposes. Still useful for stationary storage, they can be used to support charging sites in order to allow for faster charging. The stationary batteries can charge slowly at the site, but then offer up the juice in a hurry when it's needed for a vehicle. Read more from Renault.

Next-gen GM SUVs caught wearing new boxy bodies [w/video]

Wed, 15 May 2013

We recently drove the brand-new 2014 Chevrolet Silverado and found it to be vastly improved compared to the outgoing model. And now that The General's pickup trucks have been squared away, it's time to focus our attention onto their passenger-friendly companions, the Chevrolet Tahoe and GMC Yukon (above).
Our spy photographers have passed along a huge smattering of photos (and a video), showing the new SUVs out testing. Both the short- and long-wheelbase models were spied, and while the overall shape of the vehicles hasn't changed all that much, we expect the updates to be substantial. In addition to new powertrain options, like GM's new small-block V8, we expect the interiors of both SUVs to get massive makeovers, providing better materials throughout their cabins and quieter, more refined environments. We even hear that some trick new suspension developments may be in store for upper-end models.
Visually, these spy shots allow us to see a couple of new details on the SUVs' front and rear fascias, including LED running lamps on the Yukon and some interesting LED taillamp treatments. Of course, the obvious third party missing from this set of photos is the Cadillac Escalade, but as we reported earlier, GM is working to further differentiate the 'Slade from the rest of the fullsize SUV lineup, and is working to make the new model "much less ostentatious."

LG Chem's troubled Chevy Volt battery plant hiring once again

Thu, Sep 25 2014

The Michigan battery plant known for paying its workers to do nothing has turned things around and is now hiring more workers, specifically to do something. South Korea-based LG Chem, which runs the factory to supply the Chevrolet Volt extended-range plug-in vehicle with its lithium-ion batteries, held a job fair recently to bring on 40 new employees in order to meet higher battery demand, according to WZZM, the ABC affiliate for Grand Rapids, MI. The LG Chem factory is in Holland, MI, about 30 miles west of Grand Rapids, and it made its first batteries last year. Prior to that, though, the factory gained notoriety after a US Department of Energy (DOE) probe found that workers there were getting paid to do, well, nothing. That's because demand for the battery packs was so low that it cost less for the plant to sit idle. The DOE was conducting the probe because of its financial grant to LG Chem. But that was then and today is today. LG Chem is looking to ramp up production in advance of the second-generation Volt. That 2016 model-year version is said to have a longer all-electric range and better performance and will ride on a new chassis, but few official details have surfaced. We will know more when we get our first look at the car at the Detroit Auto Show in January.
