1969 Chevrolet Chevelle Convertible 396  4 Speed  12 bolt posi    Not matching numbers. Figure the car to be a clone. We don’t have anything for paperwork to prove otherwise.

Please be sure ALL your questions have been answered BEFORE bidding !  thanks  This is a real SHARP looking and  nice driving ragtop we recently acquired.  We are a  small  dealer and  occassionally we stumble on something interesting that we feel is worth throwing on the internet.  The last owner  had this vehicle for about 17 years. We were told the car had a complete paint back maybe 20 years or so.  This is an unrestored car that still shows nice. Not a 75,000.00 dollar museum piece but just a real pretty driver.  The  top was recently replaced with a brand New convertible top along with new pads. It has a glass rear window. also new bumpers. It has nice looking paint but again not perfect. It does show some normal chips , scratches + wear etc. from age but not all that many.  I see the rear left 1/4 glass has scratches.  The underside  looks clean. The tin cross brace under the front seat has been changed. The trunk is  solid. The spare and jack are also there.    Please do any inspections BEFORE BIDDING  not AFTER BIDDING.   As far as the mechanics goes  it has a Beautiful Sounding  Big Block were told is a 396 “High Perf” 325 HP with a “Muncie”  4 speed transmission  with a 12 bolt posi rear. The clutch has alittle chatter leaving first gear but shifts easily with no slipping. Numbers I found on the front of the engine block are T0110JQ for those who are numbers guys.  It has “GM” exhaust manifolds with 2 1/2 inch aluminized dual exhaust. It also has a 650 CFM spread bore carb with mechanical secondaries.  A “Hurst” 4 speed shifter along with an HEI ignition and a Edelbrock  performer  2.0 intake.  It has Power steering, Power front disc brakes and a Power convertible top.  Most everything looks to work like the heater, wipers, outside lights, emergency brake, power top, stereo + horn.  I see the dash gauges and tachometer work with the exception of the amp gauge.  The factory clock even works.  The car must be in "reverse" gear to remove the key from the ignition as it has the reverse lock out. What I see is,  the engine compartment  could use some cleaning up or detailing.  All the windows seem to go up + down fine, could use alittle adjusting like most do but  operate fine.  We also have a folder full of receipts to go with the car. Please  Feel free to come check and verify any information within.  This listing is mearly my opinion + subjective. Satisfy yourself before bidding. We strive for happy educated customers. I also believe ebay offers an affordable inspection service .

All in all a great investment to have fun with or restore to perfection.

As with any vintage vehicle it is being sold as is cond.  Any out of state buyer will pay No sales tax to Connecticut.  A Connecticut resident will pay a 6.35% sales tax.   A 250. paypal deposit is due  at the conclusion of the auction.  The balance is due within 3 days in either cash in person, a bank to bank wire or a certified check.  Please be aware ANY check will take a minimum of 5 business days to clear. Vehicle and title to be held until any check clears, that includes bank checks. Thanks

Best and Worst GM Cars

Thu, Apr 7 2022

Oh yes, because we just love receiving angry letters from devoted Pontiac Grand Am enthusiasts, we have decided to go there. Based on a heated group Slack conversation, the topic came up about the best and worst GM cars. First of all time, and then those currently on sale, and then just mostly a rambling discussion of Oldsmobiles our parents and grandparents owned (or engineered). Eventually, three of us made the video above. Like it? Maybe we can make more. Many awesome GM cars are definitely going unmentioned here, so please let us know your bests and worsts in the comments below. Mostly, it's important to note that this post largely exists as a vehicle for delivering the above video that dives far deeper into GM's greatest hits and biggest flops, specifically those from the 1980s and 1990s. What you'll find below is a collection of our editors identifying a best current and best-of-all-time choice, plus a worst current and worst-of-all-time choice. Comprehensive it is not, but again, comments. -Senior Editor James Riswick Best Current GM Vehicle Chevrolet Corvette We were flying by the seats of our pants a bit in this first outing and my notes were similarly extemporaneous. When it came time to tie it all together on camera, I failed spectacularly. Thank the maker for text, because this gives me the opportunity to perhaps slightly better explain my convoluted reasoning. I chose the C8 Corvette because it's simply overwhelmingly good, and it's merely the baseline from which this generation of Corvette will be expanded.  While the Cadillac CT5-V Blackwing (more on that in a minute) is an amazing snapshot of GM's current performance standing and its little sibling so enraptured me that I went out and bought one, their existence is fleeting. Corvette will live on; forced-induction Cadillac sport sedans, not so much. So while all three are amazing machines when viewed in a vacuum, the Corvette stands above them as both a reflection of GM's current performance credentials and a signpost of what is to come. So, given the choice between the C8 and the 5V-Blackwing right now, I'd choose the C8. In 10 years, when the Blackwing is no longer in production and Corvette is in its 9th generation? Well, that might be a different story. Now, just pretend I said something even remotely that coherent when we get to the part of the video where I try to make an argument for the 5-V Blackwing as best GM car I've ever driven. Or just laugh at me while I ramble incoherently.

GM's European Opel division may eventually go all-electric

Wed, Feb 15 2017

General Motors' Opel division in Europe may transform itself into an all-electric vehicle maker by 2030. Granted, a lot can happen between now and then, including a potential buyout by French automaker PSA Group. Regardless, Opel appears to view its electric future beyond the Ampera-e, which is the sister vehicle to the Chevrolet Bolt, and more like Tesla. Opel CEO Karl-Thomas Neumann indicated that focusing on electric drivetrains would be a superior strategy to expanding its EV technology while pushing forward with conventional drivetrains, says Automotive News Europe, citing comments Neumann made to German publication Manager Magazin. General Motors could make the decision to move towards an all-electric vehicle line for Opel as soon as May. Of course, that depends on whether Opel is bought out by PSA, the parent country to Peugeot and Citroen. PSA is in talks to buy General Motors' Opel and Vauxhall divisions, though government and labor representatives in Germany have expressed concerns over potential job losses from the proposed buyout, Reuters says. Regardless, GM has hinted at expanding its electric-vehicle line far beyond the Bolt, which has a 238-mile single-charge range and debuted late last year. Mary Barra, in an interview with CNET, said the Bolt's all-electric platform could be applied to a "huge range of vehicles," though wasn't specific about additional EV models. Opel first showed off its Ampera-e at the Paris Motor Show last fall. The name of the model raised some eyebrows because the Ampera badge had been previously used by Opel for the sister version of the Chevrolet Volt extended-range plug-in. Either way, Opel is looking to take on Renault for electric-vehicle sales supremacy across the Pond. Related Video:

GM recalling 316k vehicles due to headlamp faults

Mon, Dec 1 2014

General Motors has announced a recall covering 316,357 vehicles globally, due to the possibility of sporadic or permanent failure of the low-beam headlamps. 273,182 of these vehicles are in the United States, while the remaining affected units are in Canada, Mexico, and elsewhere. This recall includes the 2006-09 Buick LaCrosse (pictured above), 2006-07 Chevy TrailBlazer and TrailBlazer EXT, 2006-07 GMC Envoy and 2006 GMC Envoy XL, 2006-07 Buick Rainier, 2006-08 Saab 9-7X, and 2006-08 Isuzu Ascender. In an email sent to Autoblog, General Motors explains that if the headlamp driver modules are not functioning correctly, "the low-beam headlamps and daytime running lamps could intermittently or permanently fail to illuminate." GM states that this problem does not affect things like high-beams, turn signals, marker lamps, or foglamps. As of this writing, GM states it "has not been able to confirm whether the HDMs in these vehicles caused any vehicle accidents." The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration has been notified, but the recall has not yet posted to the government agency's website. Scroll down to read the full details in GM's email. General Motors is recalling 273,182 Buick LaCrosse sedans and Chevrolet, GMC, Buick, Saab and Isuzu midsize SUVs in the U.S. for possible intermittent or permanent loss of low beam headlamps. Affected models are: 2006-2009 Buick LaCrosse sedans; 2006-2007 Chevrolet TrailBlazer and 2006 TrailBlazer EXT; 2006-2007 GMC Envoy and 2006 Envoy XL; 2006-2007 Buick Rainier; 2006-2008 Saab 9-7X and 2006-2008 Isuzu Ascender midsize SUVs. If the headlamp driver modules is not operating correctly, the low-beam headlamps and daytime running lamps could intermittently or permanently fail to illuminate. This condition does not affect the high-beam headlamps, marker lamps, turn signals, or fog lamps. GM has not been able to confirm whether the HDMs in these vehicles caused any vehicle accidents. The total population, including the U.S., Canada, Mexico and exports from North America is 316,357. The NHTSA was sent the Part 573 information for this recall on November 25. It has not yet posted to the NHTSA website.
