1981 Chevy Malibu
We, at Finish Line Auto Restorations, specialize in the procurement and restorations of American Muscle Cars.
This Malibu is owned by a customer of ours who asked us to sell for him as he does not have storage space for it any more and he is not very computer literate.
The car has been sitting for about a year but fired up and ran fine after some tinkering. There is old gas in it and the tank should be drained and new fuel put in.
I drove the car about 20 miles and it runs and drives fine.
The car is fairly solid and the paint is decent. There are a couple of small spots where the clear coat faded and a couple of small bubbles.
The trunk is pretty solid.
There is a turbo 350 tranny with a shift kit in the car that chirps second gear and works fine.
The motor is a NOM Chevy small block that runs well. No smoke or funny noises and plenty of power.
The car needs an exhaust system, it's fairly loud and the pipes are hanging a little low.
The tires are radial T/A's all around with decent tread.
Interior needs some work or a nice seat cover.
There is a remote locking system for the doors and a popper for the trunk.
Fiberglass hood with pins.
Power Steering and Brakes.
Please ask all questions or come and inspect the car before you bid. After you win the auction is not the time to decide if you want the car or not. These auctions cost money and time and I am doing this as a favor for a customer.
I will have someone available to assist in case you want to send a shipper for the car once you have won.
This is a no reserve auction so, if someone does not offer me a ridiculously large amount of money, the high bidder will own it.
Good luck.

The Fate of the Furious music video shows how much Demons love donuts
Fri, Mar 3 2017The new Dodge Demon is leaking into everything related to The Fate of the Furious in the lead-up to both the car and the film's debut in just over a month. The latest teaser involves Demons doing donuts and burnouts in the Get Off music video, with copious amounts of both tire smoke and hip hop to accompany the tire-shredding shenanigans. It also gives us a look at some of the film's other cars. Get Off is a song by Travis Scott, Quavo, and Lil Uzi that's featured on The Fate of the Furious soundtrack, which is out now. The teaser for the music video features a pack of Dodge Challengers - both Demon and non-Demon spec - along with a line of non-SRT related products. From what we can see, the movie will have a Scion FR-S/Toyota 86, a highly modified C2 generation Chevrolet Corvette, and a Mercedes-AMG GT S. In typical over-the-top fashion, the final shot shows a submarine bursting through ice in pursuit of several cars, including a Subaru WRX. We can't see much else as the full music video hasn't been released, but expect a few more teasers once it does. The Fate of the Furious debuts Friday, April 14, just days after the Dodge Demon's debut at the New York Auto Show. There's an impending shortage of new trucks in America's heartland
Thu, May 21 2020URBANDALE, Iowa — Jerry Bill is worried the novel coronavirus could hurt business at the Des Moines auto dealership he runs, but not because of a shortage of buyers for the big Ram pickups on his lot. "Our biggest issue will be if we don't get more inventory," said Bill, general sales manager of Stew Hansen Chrysler Dodge Jeep Ram, which sells around 2,700 new vehicles a year in Urbandale, a suburb of Iowa's capital Des Moines. After a drop in sales in April when consumers stayed home, Bill expects pickup truck sales to end May similar to where they were a year earlier. And if demand remains strong, Bill said he will run out of popular models in June. Fiat Chrysler began slowly restarting Ram truck assembly lines on Monday after a two-month shutdown. The U.S. economy contracted in the first quarter at its sharpest pace since the Great Recession of 2007-2009 because of lockdown measures aimed at slowing the spread of the coronavirus. Economists warn the second quarter will be much worse. Still, far from the lockdowns of states like New York, Michigan or Ohio, dealerships like Stew Hansen have provided FCA and Detroit rivals General Motors and Ford a rare bright spot: strong sales of pickup trucks in America's heartland. Overall U.S. sales of cars and light trucks crashed to the weakest pace in 50 years last month. But sales of big Detroit brand pickups, particularly in southern and western states less affected by the outbreak, significantly outperformed the market, industry executives and analysts said. Pickup trucks are one of the most profitable automotive segments in the world. They account for a huge portion of the Detroit automakers' profits and formed a huge lure for Peugeot, which expects to merge with FCA by early 2021. The pressure is now on to boost pickup truck production and send vehicles to dealers in parts of the country with dwindling supplies. That is particularly true for GM, which is running short of certain truck models after losing 40 days of production to a strike last fall. "If you don't have what someone wants, they can choose to go to another brand," said Cox Automotive analyst Michelle Krebs. 'Easiest swap ever' Detroit automakers in March rolled out large discounts — such as interest-free loans for seven years — to keep vehicles rolling off dealer lots.
