You are bidding on a 1973 Chevy Malibu. The car is in overall good condition with minor nicks and dings in the paint, and a few cracks in the paint on the hood, but the car looks good! We have owned it since 2007 and have put only 12,000 miles on the car. The car was used by my son when he was going to high school, but has been stored in a warehouse since he started college (he is in his junior this year). At the time we bought the car it had only 20K miles on a new GM Targetmaster 350 engine, and a newly rebuilt Turbo 400 transmission with shift kit and 2500 stall corvette converter, and new 3.42 ring and pinon and new bearings, new Hurst quarter stick, new dual exhaust, new brakes, and new upolstery and carpet, and new truck and door seals. Runs good and strong! Looks good but may need some paint work on the hood. This is an as-is bid. I am not aware of any mechanical issues with the car, but you should check it out for yourself or have a mechanic check it out. The sale is final and there are no refunds. Use this PowerPoint when convincing your spouse to let you buy a Corvette
Thu, 14 Feb 2013When you are not the one in charge of the purse strings, creativity is a must when trying to get the string-holder to bankroll that next shiny object you just can't live without.
When I was a kid, I decided that life wasn't worth living if it weren't in pursuit of owning a GMC Typhoon. My 12-year-old self crafted a fiscal strategy that, when combined with my offer of a 49-percent share of ownership in the car in return for my parents' contribution of 80-percent of the purchase price, would see me behind the wheel of a Typhoon by the time I hit college. They walked away from the negotiating table and, the economic climate of the 8th grade being what it was at the time, another partner wasn't found before the Typhoon was discontinued.
Roy El-Rayes, however, has succeeded where 12-year-old me failed, and he did it by using the sort of professionalism that only a PowerPoint presentation can provide, along with some humor and bold-faced flattery.

Yeah, we saw the new Ram 1500, Chevy Silverado and Ford Ranger, but that's just scratching the surface. Chevrolet planning low-cost Corvette under Stingray?
Wed, 27 Feb 2013If you're burnt out on musings about the Chevrolet Corvette, you'll want to go ahead and skip this post. Motor Trend reports General Motors is hard at work on a low-cost version of the seventh-generation sports car for 2015. Rumored to be called the Corvette Coupe, the car will forgo the Stingray and skip the 450-horsepower 6.2-liter V8 engine in favor of a 5.3-liter V8 with under 400 ponies. If you're keeping track, that's a shade of the same engine found behind the headlights of the 2014 Chevrolet Silverado and GMC Sierra.
The report also suggests the Coupe will receive a number of aesthetic tweaks to separate it from the Stingray, including different front and rear fascias as well as new front fenders and a rear diffuser. Motor Trend says the point of all this is to cut the car's price tag, which means we may see a Corvette on showroom floors for less than $50,000 if this car comes to fruition.
