Hamburg, Pennsylvania, United States

Selling this 1970 Chevelle Malibu for a friend of mine. He purchased this car a few months ago with intentions of modifying this car and turning into a daily driver. He had some things come up and now does not have the time or space to do needed work and would like to see this car go to a new home.

This car as far as he knows was not an original SS. Information he has on car is from previous owner and he did not go over thoroughly or tear into anything since he has had the car. There is some receipts and paperwork that were included with the car. The motor is a 406 Chevy small block with a 750 demon carburetor. Transmission is believed to be 350 auto TH trans. Rear is 10 bolt unknown gear ratio. Car was modified quite a bit. Shifter was installed on floor. It appears it would have been on the column from the factory. Unknown mileage on the current motor/trans. MSD ignition installed. Steel cowl induction hood installed. Interior appears to be original. Driver seat has tears in it. Refer to photos. Wiring is a bit of mess. Headliner needs to be replaced. has working headlights and turn signals. Both driver side and passenger side windows roll up and down. The rear windows will need work as they do not roll up and down. Radio installed and speakers but does not work. It has drum brakes all around. Has no gas tank. Fuel cell was installed w/electric fuel pump. NOS tank also installed but hadn't been hooked up. Battery is in trunk. Refer to photo. No wipers or wiper motor. Rust is in usual spots for this car around trunk deck, edges of windows, door sills, etc. Believe panel skins were added to the rear quarters there is rust on lower quarters. Body is straight, doors line up and open and close no problem. Chrome is in decent shape some pitting on front and rear bumper. Trunk, floor, fenders feel pretty solid. It appears car was coated with undercoating at some point in its life. Frame seems to be ok. Dual exhaust installed but turn down at front of rear axle. Wheels are 15" rally wheels with center caps and beauty rings. Front tires ok, rear ones could use replacement. Car has a few scrapes and dents. Front driver fender has a small dent. Passenger fender and door have dent and scrape. Refer to photo. Passenger rear chrome over wheel well is scraped. Cowl hood has some chips on driver side back corner. Decent quality paint job. Glass windows all ok. Has brand new lowering springs which will be included with the car. Some suspension work was done to the car (refer to photos) but not sure what was all changed/replaced.

This car has not been driven since purchase and has been garaged. It is believed the freeze out plugs in motor are leaking. Antifreeze has been leaking out onto the floor. Not 100% confirmed but this appears to be culprit. I am no mechanic and am not portraying to be. Please feel free to come out and take a look at the car before bidding. Car is in 19526 area code (Hamburg, PA). Email me

This is a decent car overall, seems solid and I believe has some good potential. I just want to be as honest as possible and explain as much as is believed to be known about the car. Don't want to waste anyone's time nor mine.

He has clean title for the car in hand!!

Please refer to photos for any additional information on the car which I might have forgot to mention. Feel free to contact me with questions and I will try answer them as best as I can, but please do not bombard me with questions.

Sorry no trades!!!

CAR IS BEING SOLD AS IS!!! NO WARRANTY! Please do not bid unless you plan on buying! This car will need to be picked up by trailer or will work with shipper of buyers choice.

New Corvette Feature Keeps An Eye On Valets

Wed, Aug 20 2014

Face it. If you own a luxury or sports car, whenever you hand the keys to a valet, you imagine the car going on a high-speed joyride like the Ferrari in the 1980s cult movie "Ferris Bueller's Day Off." Now, General Motors has an option on the 2015 Chevrolet Corvette that takes those worries away. The latest version of the sports car, due out in September, has a feature that records where the car goes with a camera mounted in the windshield trim. It also captures audio in the cabin as well as speed, engine revolutions per minute, gear position and G-force. That all helps the car tattle on any valet who doesn't take a slow, direct route to a parking space. GM says it's the most extensive attempt by an automaker to thwart valet joyriders, although it's not the first. The automotive website Edmunds.com says Hyundai and Mercedes offer "geofencing," a feature that sets a perimeter and then notifies the owner's smart phone if a car goes beyond it. Chrysler has a valet mode that caps engine speed and horsepower, while Audi lets owners limit engine speed for valets. With the Corvette, once the owner activates the feature with a four-digit code, the touch screen tells the driver it's in Valet Mode. But it doesn't warn the valet that he's being recorded. The feature also locks the glove box and a storage compartment in the dashboard and shuts down the infotainment system. Valet Mode started off as a performance data recorder for those who take their Corvettes on the racetrack. GM engineers quickly figured out that it had more uses. "Think of it as a baby monitor for your car," Corvette Product Manager Harlan Charles said in a statement. "Anyone who has felt apprehension about handing over their keys will appreciate the peace of mind of knowing exactly what happened while their baby was out of sight." Data and video from the valet mode can be viewed instantly by the owner on the car's 8-inch color screen when the car is parked, or it can be downloaded to a computer. The system could go into more mainstream models if feedback is good on the Corvette, GM spokesman Monte Doran said. The feature is paired with a navigation system and costs $1,795. A 2015 Corvette starts at just under $54,000. Chevrolet Technology Gadgets

Recharge Wrap-up: Volt makes up third of Quebec Chevy dealerships sales, Tesla seeks Aussie talent

Wed, Nov 5 2014

A Chevrolet dealership in Quebec has had the Volt make up 35 percent of its sales so far this year. Bourgeois Chevrolet in Rawdon, Quebec received recognition for the feat at the 2014 Electric Vehicle Conference, where it won the award for Leading Plug-in Hybrid Electric Vehicle Dealership. To sell that many, Bourgeois Chevrolet had to import used Volts from the US, and keeps about 50 units on the lot in various configurations. The conference also saw Park Avenue Nissan of Brossard, Quebec win the Leading Battery Electric Vehicle Dealership Award, and Loch Lomond Mitsubishi of Saint John, New Brunswick receive the award for Electric Vehicle Dealership Inspiration. Ford, General Motors and Toyota have announced that they will shut down their Australian factories, leaving behind a lot of unused talent. Tesla recently held a "Recruiting Open House" in Melbourne for engineers to fill positions at its plant in Fremont, CA, where they will be paired with other Aussie engineers already on staff. Valeo recently showed an electric turbo it plans to supply to an unnamed automaker at a fuel economy showcase event at the EPA's National Vehicle Emissions and Fuel Lab. Electric turbochargers have the advantage of greatly reduced lag when compared to exhaust-driven turbos. They also work well when paired with cylinder deactivation, providing a much-needed boost when driving on a grade, which can help reduce the need for cylinders to reactivate. Independence from the exhaust system also makes it easier to package the turbocharger wherever there is room. Read more from Navigant Research. Helicopter crashes on Top Gear Korea set while chasing Corvette ZR1

Mon, 11 Feb 2013

The formula of Top Gear Korea is seemingly about the same as it is everywhere else in the world, including the flagship British original: involve interesting cars in fantastical situations with charismatic hosts. That prescription has proved to be pretty reliable over the years, and has lead to some truly memorable and exciting pieces of television.
Something like that was undoubtedly what the Korean producers were after when they lined up this segment - a drag race between a Chevrolet Corvette ZR1 and an AH1 Cobra military helicopter. The planners almost certainly did not expect the filming of the segment to go quite as wrong as it actually did, with the helicopter actually crashing into the dirt after the "drag race" had been completed. Thankfully, we're told that no one was seriously injured in the crash, but the footage, in the video below, is pretty damn chilling to watch, nevertheless.
