1968 Chevelle Malibu Convertible on 2040-cars
Freeport, Maine, United States
I have a 68 Malibu Convertible for sale that comes with a clean Massachusetts Title in hand along with the original owners manual with the vin # stamped on each page along with the protecto plate. The car was purchased on May 10th at a dealership in Holden Mass and the title I have in hand comes from an owner in Holden Mass. That dealership sticker is still on the rear bumper. Motor is the original matching 307 with the matching 2 speed power glide which was totally rebuilt last summer. New dual exhaust. Upgraded intake, carb, valve covers and HEI ignition but all of the original equipment is in storage to bring back to 100% factory. solid frame, floor boards, doors, rockers, Top is fine and goes up and down perfectly. 15" rallys, Motor runs great. I drive it daily. Front seat bottom should be replaced. New front door panels installed. Factor AM radio still in dash. Stereo radio C/D player in glove box with multi CD changer in trunk. Car has some dings and very small dents (maybe 3 or 4 total), Needs a paint job, Steering wheel has some cracks but I have a new old stock replacement that goes with it. This is a really good piece to restore to perfection with all matching #'s. Not a show quality car. Looks great going down the road and I drive it everywhere in the summer. Drive it as is or restore.

Steve McQueen's last movie car, now Pawn Stars-owned, up for auction [w/video]
Sun, 03 Feb 2013The last car Steve McQueen ever drove in a movie is officially up for auction. The 1951 Chevrolet Styline DeLuxe Convertible you see above is now owned by none other than Rick Harrison of Pawn Stars fame, but once ferried McQueen around the set of his last film, 1980's The Hunter. That flick saw the Bullit star play a bumbling bounty hunter and didn't exactly set the box office on fire. McQueen bought the car after production wrapped, and four years later it sold at his estate sale at the Imperial Palace in Las Vegas.
Flash forward to 2003, and the convertible received a full restoration back to near-stock specifications. Hagerty Insurance estimates the car to be worth around $45,000 without the significant providence. Given its ties to one of film's most popular gearheads, the old Chevrolet could fetch up to 10 times that when it goes under the gavel in Ft Luaderdale, Florida on March 22. You can head over to the Auctions America site for more information. You can also check out the trailer for The Hunter below.
First 2014 Chevy Corvette Stingray spotted crashed in the wild
Tue, 12 Feb 2013This restyled blue 2014 Chevrolet Corvette Stingray is wearing manufacturer plates, and it appears to be the same one seen around the internet in various pictures lately. This crash is likely not part of the Chevrolet testing regimen, however. Digital Corvettes forum member gpetry posted the shot with a note: "got this picture e-mailed from a friend in Arizona last week..." No circumstances are given, other than the incident occurred in the thick of a set of curvy roads, and the coupe ping-ponged off a guardrail and into the rock wall. Hopefully everyone involved in the incident walked away.
It may not be a pretty thing to see, a crashed sports car that's not even available for sale yet, but rest easy. Many pre-production cars are used for development and then unceremoniously crushed and scrapped, anyway. If that's the case here, that makes this wrecked 'Vette less of a tragedy and more of a case of exceptional efficiency.
