1967 Chevrolet Chevelle Malibu Wagon on 2040-cars
Newhall, California, United States
1967 Chevrolet Chevelle Malibu Wagon For sale is my 1967 Chevrolet wagon. This is a correct Vin and Cowl tag Malibu 8 cylinder wagon built the 4th week of January, 1967 in Fremont, CA plant. The vehicle has current Black CA plates and believed to be a original CA car but can't be verified. Current CA title and registered. The original paint code is "SS" for Fawn exterior paint and interior code 783 for Gold trim. The vehicle and interior has been repainted to Marina Blue with Blue interior. I have owned the vehicle for about a 2 months and was planning on turning into a Pro Touring Chevelle wagon but have too many projects. This is the perfect wagon to restomod or Pro tour. A solid vehicle, floor and panels appear to be original, decent repaint but needs all new suspension, bushings, and some mechanical work. Runs decent, just needs some TLC. Exterior: Vehicle appears to recently have been repainted in Marina Blue with a decent, presentable quality but not high quality. Body panels are very straight and don't see a lot of ripples in panels.Could use a buffing out. Bumpers, window mouldings, trim, grille and chrome all in good condition. Has a roof rack in good condition and rear window deflector. I personally wouldn't spend the money to repaint and put money towards suspension and other upgrades. Interior: Has been redone and changed to Blue. Carpet, seat covers, headliner, rear trim has been replaced or repainted. Very good condition. Comes with Bench seat w/fold down arm rest and headrests. Interior condition is a 7 of 10. Very presentable as has been done. Comes with clock (not working), aftermarket radio w/IPOD auxiliary connection and rear speakers. Aftermarket oil pressure and temp gauge. Working heater, this is a not a original A/C car. Engine/Drivetrain: Has a rebuilt 327 cu, V8, unknown how many miles but runs good. The stampings on block ID are missing so cant verify is original block. Has newer Edelbrock intake and carburetor, HEI distributor and ignition w/Petronix plug wires just added. Stock style exhaust manifolds, Chevy bowtie valve covers & air cleaner, Harrison radiator which I just had tanked and cleaned, runs a 185-190 degrees, new hoses and t-stat. Turbo 350 automatic transmission, shifts fine, slight vibration at hwy speed. 10 bolt rear end , gear ratio unknown. Overall runs solid, good oil pressure, starts up every time, slight vibration in driveline. Engine bay is very clean, good condition and with some minor touch up can be very presentable. Brakes/Suspension: Power drum brakes front & rear with dual master cylinder. Stops nicely, surprised how well it stops without disc brakes. Front and rear suspension components, bushings, shocks, body bushings need replacing. Vehicle wanders on the road and body creaks when turning. Basically, needs all suspension. It does has power steering and works fine. I was going to get a complete suspension kit, 2" drop spindles, convert to power front disc brakes. Has newer 15x7 SS style wheels with BF Goodrich 245/60-15 tires. Has rear sway bar. Misc: Tailgate lowers and raised with no issues. Outside crank handle works but tailgate wont lock from outside. All exterior glass including tailgate glass in good shape. Fuel gauge works seems accurate, speedo working, turn signal works but wont cancel-needs replacement. Headlights, turn signals, brakes, interior & dash lights all work. Heater working. Clock not working. Missing shift indicator on column. Undercarriage: Appears very sound, needs a good steam cleaning. Doesn't appear that any panels cut. Could use a new gas tank ,suspension tired. With some good scrubbing and detailing looks like will clean up nice. This is the perfect Chevrolet wagon for someone looking for a solid vehicle, needing some TLC . Someone looking for a restomod or Pro tour project this is the perfect vehicle for you. If it doesn't sell I will spend the $5-$10k to make this a awesome pro tour wagon or if you want to do something different this is a great vehicle to do it on. The vehicle is sold AS-IS. I have a reasonable "Buy it Now" price and reserve. I am not in desperation to sell . I am not interested in Trades. Please don't bid if you think this is a $5K or $12K car. Car is currently registered, clean CA title. The vehicle can be viewed locally by appt. If out of state buyer I will hold vehicle for a reasonable time period for transport. |

Nissan Leaf sets another monthly sales record, Chevy Volt remains steady
Mon, Nov 3 2014Here we go again. Another month in the books and another month of record sales by the Nissan Leaf in the US. For October, the world's best-selling pure EV sold 2,589 units, which is 29.3 percent more than October 2013. That makes it 20 times in a row that Nissan can say that last month sales were better than the same month a year before. All told, Nissan has sold 24,411 Leafs in the US this year, a new record, reflecting an overall Leaf sales rate that is up 35 percent, year-to-date. Nissan isn't stopping, either. A new TV ad, one that, "encourages consumers to kick gas" by saving money on fuel will start airing today in major markets, according to Toby Perry, director of Nissan's EV marketing. You can watch it below. As for the Chevy Volt, things remained steady last month in the face of a new model that's coming in the second half of 2015. Chevy sold 1,439 Volts last month, which is about the same as September (1,394) but down 28.8 percent from the October 2013 despite GM having its best overall US October sales this year since 2007. So far, 2014 Volt year-to-date sales are down 14.9 percent through the end of October compared to 2013. And that wraps up the flash report on monthly sales for these two long-standing plug-in vehicles in the US market. As always, we'll have our in-depth write-up of US green car sales available soon. For now, we await your comments, below. This content is hosted by a third party. To view it, please update your privacy preferences. Manage Settings.
GM slashes prices in China as sales falter
Thu, May 14 2015Buying a vehicle from General Motors' stable of brands might be a lot cheaper in the near future – at least for customers in China. The effort comes as GM hopes to keep sales there growing, and the decision alludes to yet another sign that the Asian country no longer has the booming auto market of past years. GM and its Chinese joint venture partner SAIC are slashing prices by as much as the equivalent to $8,700 on 40 models from Buick, Chevrolet, and Cadillac, according to The Detroit News. Across all of automaker's nameplates, the overall sales dipped in China in April by 0.4 percent to 258,484 vehicles. Among the drops, Buick was down 8.5 percent, and Chevy shrunk 5.6 percent. Caddy's numbers increased 4.6 percent for the month, though. Buick remains a popular brand in the minds of Chinese consumers, but according to The Detroit News domestic automakers there are starting to eat into the dominance of foreign companies in the market. The country remains important for GM, though. Late last year, it outlined a future strategy that included China as a major pillar, including a $14 billion investment to build five new factories and boost sales. Common Dodge Ram 1500 vs. Chevrolet Silverado breakdowns
Wed, May 4 2016These two trucks are famous for their ability to get the job done. Still, even the toughest vehicle can have mechanical problems at some time. What if we match the Dodge Ram 1500 and Chevrolet Silverado head to head? Let's find out more about common repairs for each model. Also, learn some tricks to pay for car repairs. Clunky Steering Both Dodge and the Chevy owners sometimes notice bumping and clunking when steering. This might be more noticeable when driving over bumps. The cause is usually different in each truck though. In the Dodge Ram, clunky steering is more likely due to a defective lower ball joint. Replacement costs around $300 - $400, parts and labor. Clunky Chevy Silverado steering is probably a steering rack failure. This problem appears more often in trucks with over 90,000 miles. Silverado steering rack repair will run you up to $1,000 or more. Starting Woes For the Chevy Silverado with over 130,000 miles, you might notice trouble starting. This problem may appear occasionally at first, but it typically gets worse. Excluding a weak battery, the culprit is usually the starter. Replacement will cost you around $330 - $500. Of the total cost, $90 is for labor only. Now the Dodge Ram might make a ticking sound when starting, especially on models with over 94,500 miles. The noise often disappears after the engine warms up. These symptoms may indicate a broken exhaust manifold. Repair costs range from $800 - $900. Burning Oil & Gas Gauge On The Blink Sometimes, the Dodge Ram burns oil much faster than normal. In models with over 125,000 miles, this often points towards a leaky intake manifold gasket. A knocking sound may also appear with acceleration along with possible engine misfire. The cost to repair is around $200 - $300. The Chevy Silverado has its own surprises, especially when you've filled the gas tank but the gauge still reads low. Or the needle fluctuates widely from low to full while driving. In trucks with over 120,000 miles, it's likely due to a faulty fuel sensor. You might need a full fuel pump replacement, which can cost you up to $820, parts and labor. Water Inside And Poor Heat The Ram 1500 rear window has been known to leak. You might notice the back seat and floor wet after a rainstorm. This is more common in trucks with over 65,000 miles. Resealing the Ram 1500 rear window costs around $150 - $250.
