1967 Chevrolet Chevelle Malibu 2dr Ht-rolling Project-fact 4sp W/docs & Pop on 2040-cars
Lehigh Acres, Florida, United States
GENERAL DISCRIPTION This listing is for a 1967 Chevelle Malibu Sport Coupe (2 dr ht) and is a "NON" running or driving Project. This was a factory V8 4 speed, bench seat car when new, and I have the documents to prove it, but now it has "NO" Motor or Trans or Brakes !! Otherwise the car still retains most of it's original parts and is about a 90% complete rolling project. The car will roll and steer to be put on a trailer but has no brakes. The car will need a serious restoration, however it is far from being junk and is as good or better than most project Chevelle's. The body has rust and will need panel replacement, however it is structurally sound and has a solid foundation in all the necessary places, and in the proper hands, this car will prove to be an excellent (and even easy) restoration canidate, that will result in a High End - High Dollar Collector item !! For those still interested I will describe in detail all the good and bad issues with the car. I want you to know exactly what you are buying and getting into. The car has a more than fair reserve (don't ask), and is priced to sell. The parts alone on this car are worth more than my reserve. I run honest - no bull - auctions, so if you are truly interested in the car, be on top at the end, (and be serious), because I do "NOT" drive up my own bids or use friends bids !! All bids you see will be honest and legit bidders. TITLE & DOC'S I do have a clear /open Florida Title in my name and will be turned over to the new owner after funds have been received and bank cleared. I have original documents on the car including the original dealer delivery window sticker invoice that shows prices and options, and also the original owners warranty book and metal Protect-O- Plate info. VEHICLE CONDITION This is a Goodcar - Badcar situation, and the pro builder will say "no problem" and the amateur will say "no way". With that said, I'll describe all the Good-Bad-Ugly issues and you can decide wether it's right for you. Overall this car is a great builder, but you will need to judge it from the inside out and not on the overall appearance. First of all lets look at the good aspects. This car was undercoated when new, so it helped save most of the undercarrage. The frame is in excellent condition with only the normal surface rust and has not been bent nor damaged. The inner and outer rocker area is rock solid, as is all of the support areas and bracing. The trunk drops are excellent as are the inner wells - trunk hump - rear floor - and under rear seat. The front floors are rotted through in places, but not all the way to the rockers, and have plenty of good metal left to work with. The trunk floor has been fiberglassed over by previous owner and is hard to tell how solid it actually is. Looks ok, but I would count on replacing the complete trunk floor. The window channels are very solid for this kind of car. The back channel looks good as does the package tray area and should not need any repair. The front channel is good except the strip on the bottom at the dash and the corners. Top of dash is in great condition, so a simple repair panel for the front window channel is all that's needed. The roof is nasty to look at, and mostly covered in surface rust, but is solid and with no rot or weak spots, except for a small area on the sail panel (shown). The fire wall needs a small simple patch around the heater core area outlet, but otherwise this and the cowl area is very solid. The door posts at the bottom corners will need small patchs, but not serious. Just want you to know all !! The front fenders can be saved and repaired with a few small patchs, and the rad support and inner wells are all solid. Both doors are good. The r/s door is excellent and the l/s door is ok from the outside, but will need some attention on the bottom inside. The trunk lid is very solid only having minor rust, and is solid on the inside lip and edges. Now for the bad news - Both 1/4 panels and the rear light panel, along with a complete trunk floor should be replaced. 1/4 s can be repaired with alot of time and patience, but would be much faster and easer just to replace. The worst area for rust on the car is the weatherstrip channel inside the trunk, and with new -"FULL" - 1/4 s, and a rear light panel, this problem will take care of itself, as the full panel will include the weatherstrip channel's and the sail panel area. The good news to all this is these panels are readily available and fairly cheep, and with a solid foundation to weld to, this should be a simple repair job. The only other thing worth mentioning about rust is the metal removable dash panel that houses the instruments was rusted badly and was removed, but I have another panel that is in pristeen condition.and goes with the sale. The old one still has the braces and cluster in it and you can use this to make a good one. The un-removable part of the dash is excellent, so when finished, all of the metal dash parts will be good. The only ugly news is the hood is pure junk !! It is included, but will need to be replaced. INCLUDED The factory original 4 Speed column - The brake/clutch pedal setup - All Glass is in great condition (no windshield) - Most all trim is with car and in fairly good used condition - Front & Rear seats are usable with no rips or tears - Good 10 bolt rear end - Has a fairly good and very usable exhaust system and a set of headers for a small block - All suspension parts are present and with no damage All heater parts MISSING FROM VEHICLE Motor - Trans - Driveshaft - Radiator - Windshield - Rear door panels - Headliner - Some misc small items & some of the wiring I think I have covered just about everything you you would need to know about the condition of the car, and have provided good pics of the rusted areas. If you need aditional info or pics of a specific area, please contact me through ebay. I will provide you with 30 days of free outside storage from the time of purchase. After 30 days, there will be a $10. a day storage fee in place untill picked up !!! If you purchase it and do not pick it up yourself - "PLEASE" - let the transporter know that the car does not run and has no brakes. Please read the payment rules and abide by them !! A $200 deposit is due within 48 hrs of close of auction This deposit is "NON" refundable, and if not paid by the required time, the car will be offered to the next and backup bidder !!!! And please contact me with your intentions on payment and pickup times. |

These are the five most ridiculous attacks on the Chevy Volt [w/videos]
Thu, Aug 7 2014It's been a long, strange trip for the Chevy Volt from the time when the now-odd-looking concept version (above) was introduced at the 2007 Detroit Auto Show to today. And now, General Motors announced that the second-generation Chevy Volt will make an appearance at the 2015 Detroit show in January. This debut represents a victory for GM with what has easily become the most politicized car of the 21st Century. There are plenty of reasons for someone to criticize the Volt, but what's amazing is just how much anti-Volt energy has been spent not on things like the styling or how the EREV setup is not as efficient as a pure-EV powertrain. As we wait for more official information on the new Volt, we thought it would be fun to go back and look at some of the most wildly incorrect reporting and strangest attacks on the Volt from the archives. There is so much good stuff out there, it was hard to pare the list down, but these are our five favorites. Amazingly, they're not all clips from Fox News. Check 'em out below. 5. GM Is Going To Stop Making The Chevy Volt In The US Do you remember when GM was about to move Volt production to China? Well, yeah, this was reported back in early 2012 when a GM executive mentioned that the automaker would get benefits of building the Volt in the places where it sells them. This was spun into a story of GM taking Obama bailout money and then running to China. The Blaze was not happy: "Given the fact that Federal government helped itself to millions and millions of taxpayer dollars under the pretense that it was going to combat high unemployment by creating 'green jobs,' it would seem that moving research and development (and possibly manufacturing) overseas is slightly, well, counterproductive." Well, of course, that never happened. There's no way to say that GM will never build a version of the Volt in China, but the news we hear rumors of these days is that GM is going to move production of more Volt parts (specifically, the motors) to Michigan from overseas. 4. The Chevy Volt Is A Fire Trap There has never been a Volt that just spontaneously lit up while driving down the road. Yes, there were Volts that caught on fire. Yes, that's a scary thing. But there has never been a Volt that just spontaneously lit up while driving down the road. These were crashed test vehicles with destroyed batteries and plugged-in vehicles that were not the cause.
Experimental mid-engine XP-819 Corvette going up for auction
Sun, 17 Feb 2013It seems to be commonplace that when a new Corvette is in development, rumors swirl about a possible mid-engine layout. As is the case of Chevy's most recent C7 Corvette, these rumors never pan out.
In any case, the idea for a 'Vette with an engine mounted behind the driver can probably all be traced back to a single car, the 1964 XP-819 prototype. Built as an "engineering exercise" back in 1964, the prototype was designed with a rear-mounted engine. History tells us that the idea of a rear-engine Corvette fizzled, and the XP-819 was eventually cut up into pieces and stored at a shop in Daytona Beach, FL.
After sitting for untold years, a restoration project started on the car, and while it isn't yet fully completed, the current owner of the car, Mid America Motorworks, will have the car on display at the 2013 Amelia Island Concours d'Elegance as a "driveable chassis" with hopes of having a fully completed car ready to bring to next year's show.
Weekly Recap: Racing legend Jim Hall explains Chevy's futuristic Chaparral concept
Sat, Nov 22 2014"I said our cars are built to be winners." – Jim Hall Racing legend Jim Hall never thought he'd be a video game consultant, but when Chevrolet asked for his advice to create a futuristic Chaparral for the Vision Gran Turismo series, he was eager to help. He reviewed early sketches and suggested some changes that made it onto the concept, including the addition of a camera that's mounted onto a mast over the cabin to aid the driver. The Chevy Chaparral 2X Vision Gran Turismo concept was revealed this week at the Los Angeles Auto Show and will be part of a downloadable update for PlayStation 3's Gran Turismo 6 in December. Theoretically, at least, it uses a laser-beam propulsion system and an air-powered generator to produce 900 horsepower in the video game. It's capable of sprinting to 60 miles per hour in 1.5 seconds en route to a top speed of 240 mph. Those gaudy performance specs – even in the virtual world – came at Hall's urging. "I said our cars are built to be winners," Hall told Autoblog on the floor of the Los Angeles show. The 79-year-old drove Lotus racecars in Formula One before launching the successful Chaparral Cars in the 1960s. Like his innovative Can-Am racers, the Vision Gran Turismo project has an eye toward the future. It also introduces the iconic Chaparral name to a new generation of fans, and hopefully, Hall says, gets them excited about engineering and design. "It emulates what we did in the '60s," he said. And what they did back then still resonates. Chaparral Racing and Chevy partnered more than 45 years ago for development work on the composite monocoque chassis, lightweight alloy powertrains, automatic gearboxes and active aerodynamics. "He [Hall] walked right back into this and was able to apply thinkings and learnings," said Clay Dean, General Motors executive director of advanced design. The Chevy Chaparral 2X Vision Gran Turismo concept was created at GM's North Hollywood advanced design studio, and it will be on display at the show through November. Other News and Views Sebastian Vettel joins Ferrari team in 2015 Ferrari confirmed that four-time Formula One World Champion Sebastian Vettel will join the Scuderia for the 2015 season, jettisoning Ferrari's current ace, two-time champ Fernando Alonso. Vettel has been F1's most successful driver since Michael Schumacher, though he's struggled to match his previous accomplishments in 2014.
