1964 Chevrolet Chevelle Malibu 2 Door Hardtop Sport Coupe Description: This is a beautiful 2DR Malibu sport coupe. 350 V8/350 Automatic Trans. Bucket seat car that's ready to go anywhere. The body on this car is very straight and the interior is excellent. Nice set of wheels and tires puts the power to the ground. All the glass is good. This car is ready for the cruise-ins or could be a daily driver. A very nice car inside and out. Trunk and engine compartment are clean, no rust to body panels or floor boards. Newer dual exhaust system from headers back with chrome tips. Paint work was done by previous owner about 12-14 years ago and is not perfect but I get thumbs up all the time when driving it and lots of people stop me to talk about how nice the car looks. There are a few paint dings and spots that show some slight surface rust (some I have sanded and primed). The interior is very nice, see pictures, good headliner and inner door panels, no rips or tears or heavy wear on the upholstery which is two-tone blue and silver blue. The window crank handles are new but the door latch handles are showing some pitting. This is not a show car but it gets plenty of looks comments and attention. The 2 Door Sport Coupe has no post between the front and rear windows and has a very cool look when the windows are all down. Features: Bucket seats, front disc brakes. upgraded 15 inch chrome wheels, extra gauges, oil pressure & temperature, B&M floor shifter, racing grip steering wheel, floormats, carpet in trunk, electric cooling fan for radiator, Kenwood stereo FM radio & CD player. New chrome bumpers front and rear, new front chrome grill, headlight bezels. Recent work includes replacing the rear end axel seals and rear brake shoes, oil & filter change. Car has no A/C although it appears that it had it as an original option, heater works well. Not sure of actual mileage, speedometer works but odometer does not. Last owner installed the 350 V8 and 350 transmission which runs tight and strong. This is a fast car and rides smooth, with modern air shocks and front and rear stabilizer bars. Former owner was into drag cars and fixed this one up right, you can tell when you see it someone did a lot of work to get it to be in this kind of condition, not perfect, but very nice. It appears it has been a southern car with little weather induced rust over time and well cared for considering it is almost 50 years old! The vin# indicates that it was originally a V8 2 Dr Hardtop Sport Coupe, and original color was 916 Daytona Blue.

2014 Chevrolet Corvette Stingray Convertible gives us a couple of looks

Sat, 02 Mar 2013

Put away your pixel paintbrushes, kids. Pack up your Photoshop. This is the real-deal 2014 Chevrolet Corvette Stingray Convertible in its first official images. The droptop Chevrolet will roll into the bright lights of the Palexpo exhibition at next week's Geneva Motor Show, a four-wheeled statement of intent that General Motors is serious about taking its Corvette franchise global.
Chevy isn't providing anything in the way of further details with these two shots, but we've learned at least a couple of things about the car shown here. First off, the example seen in these images is fitted with the optional Z51 Performance Package - something that isn't immediately evident because there's no sign of the coupe model's prominent ductwork on its rear haunches. In order to accommodate the power folding hard tonneau cover, the vents that feed the transmission and differential coolers have been relocated to the underside of the car. The dark paint color on this example also does a good job of muting the contrasting black front fender vents and hood opening - Z51-spec design details that have proven to be somewhat controversial.
One other thing to note: These two shots also display the Stingray wearing different alloy wheels than the split five-spoke design shown at the hardtop's Detroit Auto Show unveiling in January. The simpler, thin five-spoke wheels should do a good job of showing off the Z51's upgraded brakes, and they'll be optional on the coupe as well.

Star Wars Car Drives To The Dark Side Of Comic Con

Tue, Jul 22 2014

When it comes to designing coveted collectible toys for sale at Comic-Con, the annual celebration of pop culture lifting off Thursday in San Diego, the sky's the limit for the designers at Mattel. Fittingly, the building where Mattel's dreamers conceive of their limited-edition playthings is just down the street from the Los Angeles International Airport. Inside the colorful design center - a Hot Wheels-themed shuttle bus transports employees from Mattel's parking garage - the designers have spent the past year working on 10 toys created especially for the Comic-Con crowd, including a replica of the Batmobile from the upcoming game "Batman: Arkham Knight" and a 9-inch-tall action figure of Superman killer Doomsday. "We don't have to worry about retail. We don't have to worry about margins," said Doug Wadleigh, Mattel's senior vice president of global brand marketing for boys and entertainment. "We don't have to worry about operational efficiencies. We only have to worry about creating the coolest toys for our fans. Period." It also offers some escape from Mattel's reality these days. Like other toy makers struggling in this digital, video-centric age, the company is trying to remain relevant in the retail world. Core brands like Barbie have seen less of a demand, with a 14 percent drop in sales in the first quarter of this year. Mattel had a net loss for the first three months ending March 31 that totaled $11.2 million. But things will at least seem rosier at Comic-Con, where eager buyers for the toys await (the only other place they will be sold is on the Mattel collector's site). Mattel's exclusives this year run between $20 and $85, but elite toys can fetch much more when they're put up for auction. The crown jewel for Wadleigh and his team this year is a Darth Vader die-cast car, the first official collaboration from Hot Wheels and the "Star Wars" franchise. The car - imagine if a Chevrolet Corvette C5 and the villainous Sith lord's helmet had a baby - comes in a sleek black box and encased in a replica of Vader's lightsaber, complete with a swooshing sound effect. "We've been trying to partner with Lucasfilm and Disney on this property for a long time," said Wadleigh. A full-size working replica of the Vadermobile will be on display at Mattel's booth at the massive San Diego Convention Center.

Check out the official 2013 Trans Am Hurst Edition commercial

Sat, 16 Mar 2013

The Poncho is dead. Long live the Poncho. Like certain other reoccurring personal maladies, the aftermarket community simply can't let the Trans Am go without another flare up. The guys at Trans Am Depot have worked up a quick commercial for their newest creation: The 2013 Trans Am Hurst Edition, and it watches pretty much like you'd expect it to. The footage is comprised of just about every TA male fantasy you can conceive of, from Daisy Dukes and white tank tops to tramp stamps, bikinis and ice cream cones. There simply aren't words for what you'll see below.
Of course, we like our T-Tops as much as the next guy. If you like what you see in the videos, you can pick up your very own TA by heading over to the Trans Am Depot site. The guys even have Chevrolet Camaro-based versions of the Pontiac GTO if the '77 TA treatment is too much for your tastes. Enjoy, but don't say we didn't warn you.
