· 2005 Pontiac G6, one owner, low miles, will turn over 77,000 soon. I am the original owner, purchased October 2004 so it will be 10 years old soon. It was the first one off the truck when the G6 was introduced. Which means nothing but I’ve owned a couple of Pontiacs in my life and always like them! · Clean NV title, no salvage or rebuild. · Its one of the GM cars that have been recalled this year. I have 3 recall notices and I checked last week with a GM Dealer. They have the parts for 2 of the recalls and it takes all day for the work to be done. · The car is in good condition, good paint and body, and has a small ding in driver’s door and one on right rear wheel arch. · I was rear-ended by a guy with no insurance in May 2013, total
repairs came to about $3800.00. It was repaired locally by a great body
shop, no damage to the unibody pieces. · There are no cracks in the windshield, but it has 10 years of use
and some pitting. · It has a sliding sunroof which works, and it has a sunroof deflector. · The Air Conditioning works and blows cold. Heater and defrost work well. One of the center vents in the dashboard is broken but can still be used. · It has cruise control which works. The steering wheel button that turns on the cruise sticks when you push it is but eventually comes out. Power windows, all of which still work. There’s power driver’s seat, although I haven’t used it much at all. · I have 2 ignition keys, and one remote keyfob to lock and unlock the door and trunk. I just bought the new fob last week. · It has a 6CD player which doesn't work. My granddaughter put a
burned CD in it once and it won't come out. It doesn't have any MP3 or
any other connections. When I first bought it, I was into Satellite Radio
and had a mount attached to the back of the radio to hold the satellite thing.
I gave up satellite and the mount is still there. · The interior is in clean condition and in decent shape but shows
some wear in the driver’s seat. I've been in this car alone about 99 percent of
the time. I have a set of heavy duty floor mats. The carpets in the front could
use a shampoo job, I think, but there’s no big stains or holes in it. |

Indian tuner turns Chevy Optra into Mustang 'Eleanor' replica
Fri, 03 Aug 2012If you are a big fan of automotive oddities, this may come as a little treat. If you are a Shelby or Mustang diehard, prepare to have your sensibilities violated.
The master fabricators at BigDaddyCustoms are the minds behind what you see above. At first, it appears to be a slightly misshapen custom Mustang, modeled after "Eleanor" from Gone In 60 Seconds, but upon further examination, something appears to be amiss. In fact, the custom shop, based in India, has created an Eleanor replica grafted upon a lowly Chevrolet Optra. While it may take a second for the Optra to ring a bell, you should recognize its badge-engineered sibling, the Daewoo Lacetti, used on Top Gear.
We don't know what star would opt for the Reasonably Priced Car in Shelby's clothing, but it's clearly someone more concerned with the aesthetic than the performance credentials of this automotive mash-up.
Europeans ask Chevy to bring Volt back to Europe
Fri, Aug 14 2015A group of French fans is asking for a jolt of support from General Motors to get the 2016 Chevrolet Volt across the pond. The Association Amperistes et Amis des Vehicules Rechargeables is running a Change.org petition that currently has 383 signatures out of a goal of 500. While the attempt is admirable, it's probably going to take a lot more than several hundred people for the model to make a return to the continent after the poor showing of the Opel Ampera – first-gen Volt's European cousin. The group's major argument for bringing a version of the second-gen Volt to Europe is that consumers need "an intermediate choice between expensive or range-limited pure electric cars and plug-in hybrids with a miserable electric range." Furthermore, such a vehicle would prod the competition to produce similarly efficient electrified models. They also lavish praise on the abilities of the Ampera for its long EV driving range. The supporters aren't entirely kind to GM in the petition, though, and claim the company excluded the original car from marketing efforts there. The Ampera actually enjoyed a strong European launch with more orders than initially expected and briefly topped the best-sellers list among EVs there. It was even named 2012 European Car of the Year. Those halcyon days didn't last long, and by 2014 sales fell off to a trickle. The waning reception caused GM's decision not to introduce a version of the new 2016 Volt there or in Australia. Related Video:
Weekly Recap: Tesla loses money, still dominates the news
Sat, Aug 8 2015Some people get an inordinate amount of attention. In politics, it's Donald Trump. In football, it's Jim Harbaugh. And in the auto world, it's Elon Musk and his always-fascinating electric car company, Tesla Motors. General Motors is spending $877 million to upgrade a factory. So what! US auto sales are up. Who cares? Tesla has a metal snake that will recharge your car! So was the week in Tesla – er, the industry. Snarkiness aside, Tesla did dominate the news cycle, led by the announcement the company lost $184 million in the second quarter. Tesla also said it expects to deliver between 50,000 and 55,000 vehicles this year, and is preparing for a full launch of the Model X crossover in September. Musk also made news during the earnings call by simply not answering a question about ride sharing, leading to speculation Tesla could be considering its own operation. While the financials were the arguably the most important company news, reports of a Model S cyber hacking were more compelling fodder for Tesla followers. Researchers were able to attack the sedan and bring it to a stop, though they required access to the car first. Tesla says it already has deployed a remedy for the situation. On a lighter note, Tesla published a video of its metal charger prototype that autonomously uncoils like a snake to power up the company's vehicles, provoking plenty of humorous comments and comparisons. Watch it and decide for yourself. While some of this might seem trivial, much of Tesla's recent attention has been warranted. It's the first startup US automaker in decades to launch from nothing and actually gain traction in the market. Sure, Musk is a lightning rod and Tesla always seems to be in the spotlight. But amid all of the publicity, it easy to lose sight of the new reality: Tesla is a force. OTHER NEWS & NOTES 2016 Chevy Volt lights up 106 MPGe The Chevy Volt's vitals are looking healthier for 2016. The second-generation plug-in hybrid racks up a gaudy 106 miles per gallon equivalent, which is an increase of eight MPGe from the 2015 model. The new Volt can travel 53 miles on electricity, a significant jump from the 2015 Volt's 38-mile range. The new car also has a 420-mile total range when factoring in the capability of the gasoline engine, which is 40 miles greater than the current car offers.
