It drives well. It is close to being considered in "good" condition."

Light silvery blue 1997 Chevy Lumina LS sedan, good condition, automatic tramsmission, mpg: city 20/hwy 26, 4 doors, fwd drive, midsize, seats 6, engine: v6, 3.1 liter, power windows, power door locks, cruise control, automatic daytime running lights, dual air bags, am/fm stereo and cassette (which I never used), heat, air conditioning (see further notes), instruction manual, electric rear defogger, power trunk opener, carpeted floor mats (somewhat stained, but have been cleaned), large trunk space, back seats fold forward for more room, trunk has cargo net and spare tire, (cannot open trunk while the car is running), visor vanity mirrors, tilt wheel adjustable, manual shoulder safety belts, anti lock (see notes), rear door child security locks, dual twin remote electric sport mirrors, 142873 miles, the shifter is on the wheel. Overdrive available (though I've not used it much).

Notes:
-The air conditioning doesn't work, needs repaired. The heat does work however and works very well.
-The car will occasionally be a little slow about slipping into the lower gears, but it doesn't happen a lot. Usually will resolve itself if you take your feet of the gas pedal, then put it back on. This has been a recent development, but the car still drives great despite this.
-I have never used the cassette player. I just use the radio.
-I have a walmart lifetime replacement tire deal on the car's tires. If they need repaired or have less than 25% tread, then the tires should be replaced for free.
-The passenger side has a small bit of dentage from years ago, but it doesn't affect the car at all. You can see it in the picture.
-When I purchased this from the dealer, it didn't have a working remote lock and trunk opener for a keychain, so I bought one. It still works and will be yours for your convenience. It does not remote start the car, just opens/locks the locks and opens the trunk.
-I have the service records for the vehicle since I got it. 7 years worth. I have almost always taken this car to Custom Dyno for oil changes and repairs. The only exception is the tires.
-Trunk has lots of space for groceries and bags. I've loved the trunk space!
-Seat space is spacious and very comfortable.
-Great car for a family of 1-2 kids or someone who needs decent back seat space.
-It had a cup holder on the central arm between the seats, but no longer does. It still have the convenient cup holder right below the radio (in the pic)
-The cigarette lighter, though not pictured, is intact and working. I am a non-smoker and so the car has not been smoked in for 7 years.
-The anti-lock light will come on and off periodically. I have had this checked out and it is fine. It still functions very well.
-I absolutely have LOVED driving this car for the last 7 years, but I need something new at this point. This would make a great starter vehicle. My driving patterns have had me doing the occasional out of town trips (without issues), but have mostly been occasional in town driving.

Audi S4 drivers are the most accident-prone, insurance report says

Sun, Jun 25 2023

Culling data from more than 4.6 million automobile insurance applications, researchers at the Insurify insurance comparison marketplace picked a winner — or more to the point, a loser — in its determination of the car model with the most accidents so far in 2023: the Audi S4. Why does the sporty, luxury-class German sedan rank so high (or so low)? The organization found that S4 drivers, piloting a car with almost 350 horsepower, are among those who collect the most speeding tickets, and that they get into accidents at a rate 54 percent higher than the national average. If the S4 isnÂ’t a surprise with an at-fault accident rate of 11.7 percent, consider the “family friendly” brand that appears three times on the Insurity list: Subaru. It is represented by three models, including the turbocharged WRX and XV Crosstrek, and at the better-performing bottom of the list, the Subaru Impreza, with an accident rate of 10.3 percent.  In 2023, 7.6 percent of U.S. drivers were involved in at least one at-fault accident in the prior seven years. For drivers of cars on this list, the average at-fault accident rate was 10.5 percent, meaning these drivers are 1.4 times as likely to have an at-fault accident on record. According to its statement, the Insurity data science team explored key safety features, driver behavior, and Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS) evaluations to pinpoint possible reasons behind these carsÂ’ high accident rates. Following is the list, counting down to the models with most reported accidents: 10. Subaru Impreza (percentage of drivers with a prior at-fault accident on record: 10.3 percent; MSRP base model): $19,795) 9. Kia Niro (percentage of drivers with a prior at-fault accident on record: 10.4 percent; MSRP base model): $26,590) 8. Chevrolet Silverado LD (percentage of drivers with a prior at-fault accident on record: 10.4%, MSRP base model): $34,500) 7. Subaru XV Crosstrek (percentage of drivers with a prior at-fault accident on record: 10.5 percent, MSRP 6. Subaru WRX.(percentage of drivers with a prior at-fault accident on record: 10.7% MSRP base model): $29,605) 5. Toyota GR86 (percentage of drivers with a prior at-fault accident on record: 10.8 percent MSRP base model): $29,900) 4. Hyundai Veloster N (percentage of drivers with a prior at-fault accident on record: 10.9 percent; MSRP base model): $32,500) 3.

Chevy admits there's confusion over Bolt and Volt names

Fri, Feb 20 2015

Offering the possibility of 200 miles of driving range and the potential for a price of about $30,000, the Chevrolet Bolt is an incredibly enticing vehicle, and it has an opportunity to be a big player in the EV world. However, the hatchback has been plagued by one problem since the moment it debuted – the name. Bolt sounds very similar to Volt, Chevy's extended-range plug-in, and they can be easy to confuse in a conversation. That's not the best quality to have when trying to get a new vehicle's name out there among customers, and General Motors North America president Alan Batey told the Detroit Free Press that the company is aware of the problem. While the EV is definitely going into production, the model might be wearing a different moniker when it hits showrooms. "We're still in the decision phase. It could go either way," Batey said to the Free Press. He indicated the automaker still has about a year before a final decision is necessary. The Bolt will be built at GM's Orion Assembly plant in Michigan and will likely go on sale around 2017. That will put the Chevy on the market at roughly the same time as the 200-mile Tesla Model 3. Batey didn't seem too concerned, though. "Unlike Tesla, we can spread the cost over a whole lineup," he said to the Free Press. The future doesn't look quite so bright for the Spark EV, though. Batey suggested that it might not last once the longer-range Bolt fills that niche in the lineup. Related Video:

Best and Worst GM Cars

Thu, Apr 7 2022

Oh yes, because we just love receiving angry letters from devoted Pontiac Grand Am enthusiasts, we have decided to go there. Based on a heated group Slack conversation, the topic came up about the best and worst GM cars. First of all time, and then those currently on sale, and then just mostly a rambling discussion of Oldsmobiles our parents and grandparents owned (or engineered). Eventually, three of us made the video above. Like it? Maybe we can make more. Many awesome GM cars are definitely going unmentioned here, so please let us know your bests and worsts in the comments below. Mostly, it's important to note that this post largely exists as a vehicle for delivering the above video that dives far deeper into GM's greatest hits and biggest flops, specifically those from the 1980s and 1990s. What you'll find below is a collection of our editors identifying a best current and best-of-all-time choice, plus a worst current and worst-of-all-time choice. Comprehensive it is not, but again, comments. -Senior Editor James Riswick Best Current GM Vehicle Chevrolet Corvette We were flying by the seats of our pants a bit in this first outing and my notes were similarly extemporaneous. When it came time to tie it all together on camera, I failed spectacularly. Thank the maker for text, because this gives me the opportunity to perhaps slightly better explain my convoluted reasoning. I chose the C8 Corvette because it's simply overwhelmingly good, and it's merely the baseline from which this generation of Corvette will be expanded.  While the Cadillac CT5-V Blackwing (more on that in a minute) is an amazing snapshot of GM's current performance standing and its little sibling so enraptured me that I went out and bought one, their existence is fleeting. Corvette will live on; forced-induction Cadillac sport sedans, not so much. So while all three are amazing machines when viewed in a vacuum, the Corvette stands above them as both a reflection of GM's current performance credentials and a signpost of what is to come. So, given the choice between the C8 and the 5V-Blackwing right now, I'd choose the C8. In 10 years, when the Blackwing is no longer in production and Corvette is in its 9th generation? Well, that might be a different story. Now, just pretend I said something even remotely that coherent when we get to the part of the video where I try to make an argument for the 5-V Blackwing as best GM car I've ever driven. Or just laugh at me while I ramble incoherently.
