1997 Chevrolet Lumina Auto Green Great Mechanical Condition 128k on 2040-cars
Kite, Georgia, United States
Hello, up for auction is a 1997 Chevrolet Lumina with 126,700 miles. This vehicle is an automatic sedan with overdrive. I am selling this for my family, my father in law drove this and recently passed away. I drove this car for around 50 miles to check everything out, and went through every control and feature that the car has. I am very impressed with the car's handling and overall solid condition. I have checked with the family and this car has never been in an accident (other than a low speed backup that sideswiped a wooden post), nor have any of the airbags been deployed. No warranty with the vehicle, vehicle sold as-is where-is.
The car was always driven weekly up till last month. This vehicle was used to go to and from work. The car is in great condition mechanically, with no issues that prevent it from being driven across the state or cross country. Oil was changed every 5,000 miles. The brakes work perfectly, transmission shifts smoothly, vehicle does not shake or vibrate at any speed, and starts easily. Tires are at 85%-90% tread and match, radio works and all switches and controls work as well. Cruise control works, automatic door locks work, and all power windows work as intended except as noted below. Here are the only issues with the Lumina:
The vehicle is for sale locally, so I reserve the right to end auction at any time. In addition, vehicle can be inspected between now and Wednesday if arranged, please email me to set up a time and for directions and details. Vehicle is in Emanuel County Georgia near Kite. The successful bidder will need to pick the vehicle up by this Wednesday March 12th, 2014. If pickup must be made after March 12th, 2014, arrangements will need to be made for a Saturday or Sunday pickup only. Cash only. $100 deposit via email due 24 hours after auction ends (if vehicle is picked up within 24 hours of auction ending then deposit not required). Clear title is in hand. |

Chevy Sonic shreds like a skateboard
Tue, 19 Mar 2013Despite the fact that the 2013 Chevy Sonic is a fun, plucky little thing - especially in ever-so-slightly hotter RS guise - it is not, in fact, a skateboard. But don't tell that to rapper Theophilus London.
In General Motors' latest spot for the Chevrolet compact, London needs to make a quick run to the store for some milk. And even though, once again, the Sonic is not a skateboard, it ollies, pops and gets air because, you know, it's just so much fun to throw around.
If this video looks familiar to you, it's because this is the full ad that we first got a preview of in Chevy's longer, full-line spot, where the brand's "Find New Roads" tagline was introduced. Scroll down to see this dedicated Sonic spot, along with the older ad, and remember, the Sonic is still - still - not a skateboard.

There once was a time when Daewoo was one of the biggest companies in South Korea. It was larger than both LG and Samsung, and second only to Hyundai. But these days the name is all but gone.
GM won't pay owners of recalled cars for lost value
Thu, 12 Jun 2014Kenneth Feinberg, the man in charge of the General Motors compensation fund dealing with the its widespread ignition switch woes, has issued an informal, two-letter response to the plaintiffs in more than 70 lawsuits seeking redress for lost resale value of their Cobalts: "No." The cases were recently combined into one, but Feinberg told The Detroit News that the fund will deal "only with death and physical injury claims," and that "perceived diminished value" will get no consideration.
ALG, the firm specializing in establishing residual values, determined that Cobalt owners had lost $300 compared to the segment competition and doesn't envision any long-term effects from the recall situation. Feinberg's statement comes in advance of public details on how the compensation fund will work and adheres to GM's long-held position on the matter. The company has already asked a judge to throw out such suits using the pre-bankruptcy defense, even as it stopped using that defense in cases of injury and death.
With plenty of potential gain from the GM suit, however, don't expect the plaintiffs to give up yet. When Toyota was sued for the same reason during the unintended acceleration debacle, it eventually settled the case for between $1 billion and $1.4 billion just to get it over with. Since the 85 law firms involved in the Toyota litigation took home more than $250 million of that total, we shouldn't expect the attorneys to give up on a GM payout, either.
