Our auction had so much interest in it, but I think my listing was confusing. My son has decided to sell the car, and pass it onto someone who can take care of it and restore it the way it should be done. We have added a reserve on the car, so that my son can hopefully recoup some of his money. I am leaving the original auction wording on here, BUT THIS CAR IS NOW FOR SALE, NOT JUST HELP RESTORE. Please understand, my son and husband have started taking this car apart, it has the quarter panels off, trunk and hood lids are both removed. Please email if you have any questions. Thanks!
RESTORE MY SONS 1964 AND ADD YOUR COMPANY LOGO TO BE SEEN BY THOUSANDS. My son spent almost everything in his savings account to buy this 1964 Impala. He has been tearing it down to restore it with his father. His goal with this car, was to get it restored and give his grandfather a ride in it before he passes. His grandfathers health is getting worse and my sons bank account is getting slim. We came up with the idea if a company wants to restore it and have their company logo added, its advertisement for them, whether its a garage or a large company. Just think, a small company who works on cars could restore this and put their name on their work for thousands and thousands to see what kind of work they can do. Think of the business you could make for yourself. This is a almost 15 year old, so the advertisement would have to be clean please. What a way to advertise your company! We all know teenagers drive EVERYWHERE, and who doesn't stop to check out a classic car like a '64 IMPALA! YOUR COMPANY COULD BE THE NEXT FAST AND LOUD!!! We do have the title, and as soon as I get it out of the safe deposit box, I will put in the correct VIN number, and I didn't enter the mileage because its in the outside garage and the wind is blowing 40 miles an hour right now! I will update it as soon as I get it. Please email us with any questions, no rude comments please, this is a 14 year old with creative ideas on getting his car finished. Thanks! |

GM won't pay owners of recalled cars for lost value
Thu, 12 Jun 2014Kenneth Feinberg, the man in charge of the General Motors compensation fund dealing with the its widespread ignition switch woes, has issued an informal, two-letter response to the plaintiffs in more than 70 lawsuits seeking redress for lost resale value of their Cobalts: "No." The cases were recently combined into one, but Feinberg told The Detroit News that the fund will deal "only with death and physical injury claims," and that "perceived diminished value" will get no consideration.
ALG, the firm specializing in establishing residual values, determined that Cobalt owners had lost $300 compared to the segment competition and doesn't envision any long-term effects from the recall situation. Feinberg's statement comes in advance of public details on how the compensation fund will work and adheres to GM's long-held position on the matter. The company has already asked a judge to throw out such suits using the pre-bankruptcy defense, even as it stopped using that defense in cases of injury and death.
With plenty of potential gain from the GM suit, however, don't expect the plaintiffs to give up yet. When Toyota was sued for the same reason during the unintended acceleration debacle, it eventually settled the case for between $1 billion and $1.4 billion just to get it over with. Since the 85 law firms involved in the Toyota litigation took home more than $250 million of that total, we shouldn't expect the attorneys to give up on a GM payout, either.
GM will stop reporting monthly U.S. vehicle sales
Tue, Apr 3 2018DETROIT — General Motors said on Tuesday it will stop reporting monthly U.S. vehicle sales, saying the 30-day snapshot does not accurately reflect the market, and will instead issue quarterly sales. GM will also no longer report monthly sales in China, its largest market, and Brazil. GM will provide monthly data to the U.S. Federal Reserve, industry associations and government agencies across the globe, but that data is not made public. Analysts and investors rely on monthly U.S. vehicle sales not just to track the performance of individual automakers, but as a barometer of the health of the world's second-largest auto market and as an indicator of consumer confidence in the U.S. economy overall. GM and its Detroit rivals Ford and Fiat Chrysler have relied heavily on sales of high-margin pickup truck and SUV sales to boost profits. GM's total U.S. sales, its second-largest market, are down 3.2 percent for the first two months of 2018, reflecting a 6.8 percent drop in retail sales to individual customers, the company reported last month. GM executives have expressed frustration that comparisons of monthly U.S. sales results among rival automakers are distorted by short-term discount programs, and by differences in strategy for selling vehicles in bulk to rental car fleets. "Thirty days is not enough time to separate real sales trends from short-term fluctuations in a very dynamic, highly competitive market," Kurt McNeil, U.S. vice president for sales operations said in a statement. GM's actions could prompt other automakers to also switch to quarterly U.S. sales reports. Major automakers will report March U.S. new vehicle sales on Tuesday. Until the early 1990s, most U.S. automakers released sales results every 10 days. The former Chrysler Corp. stopped reporting sales on a 10-day basis in 1990, and rivals followed suit over the next three years. GM executives are betting that investors will quickly adapt to receiving U.S. sales data every three months, as investors in other retail sectors already have. Retailers such as Walmart report sales on a quarterly basis. Reporting by Joe WhiteRelated Video: Image Credit: Reuters Earnings/Financials Green Buick Cadillac Chevrolet GM GMC US
