Rare 1971 Chevy Impala Convertible with BB 402, Turbo 400 transmission with shift kit up for auction!!! Runs and drives fine.  This car sounds and runs amazing (I have a video of the engine running if you would like to see it - email me and I will send it to you via email.  Ebay will not let me post a video)  Although it runs and drives fine, it has not been a daily driver for the last 2 years.  This is still a project and needs to be restored, but what an awesome starting point!

Again - has the Big Block 402
Turbo 400 Transmission with shift kit
It has 86K miles.
Has dual exhaust
Does have rust in the trunk pan (see pics)
Has some rust in one rocker panel and one fender well (see pics)
Floors are solid
Body is straight
Needs carpet & new top
Has working power windows
Has tilt steering
Originally had AC, but has been removed, but ALL parts are in the trunk, including the belt
The original valve covers are in the trunk as well.
One center cap is missing

I've tried to take as many pictures as possible showing the condition.  I have been completely honest about everything I can think of.  I am not a professional though, so I am just hoping I have listed everything.  If there is anything specific you would like to know, PLEASE EMAIL AND ASK.  The car is being sold as is, with no warranty or guarantee.  There is a $500 NON REFUNDABLE Deposit due within 48 hours of auction close.  Balance is due upon pick up in cash.  Pick up is required within 7 days, unless prior arrangements are made.  Regardless of arrangements, balance is due within 7 days. Buyer is responsible for pick up/shipping.  This is an awesome project.  My husband was just cruising it around town today and is sad we are letting it go....but we moved and do not have room for all his projects any longer.

2014 Chevrolet SS makes its live debut

Sat, 16 Feb 2013

Chevrolet showed off the new 2014 SS in an airport hangar last night, its first rear-wheel-drive performance sedan in the US since the Impala SS from 1997. We'll have more to say about the SS later today, but this is the sedan that Chevrolet sees as the final piece in restoring its performance credentials. For those of you looking for a manual transmission, however, that wish will go unfulfilled - at least for now: the only two options buyers will have are the color and whether or not they want a sunroof.
We'll work on getting some more angles (in better light) today at Daytona International Speedway, but with fans seeing the car for the first time, we don't hold out much luck of getting a clear shot. So for now, enjoy the high-res gallery above.

Very first Chevy Camaro found and restored

Thu, Feb 26 2015

Restoring an important classic car can lead people down rabbit hole upon rabbit hole of discovered history in a process that's essentially automotive genealogy. Take the recent rejuvenation of the very first Chevrolet Camaro as an example. The owners started with a strong hunch that the vehicle might be something special and spent years researching to figure it all out before the mechanical work even began. Fisher Body kicked off work on the first Camaro on May 17, 1966, and it was delivered to General Motors just a few days later for final assembly. While the model has earned a place as an American performance icon since then, the original was built more to develop the production process and boasted just a 230-cubic-inch (3.8-liter) inline six and 3-speed transmission. After spending its first few months appearing in promotions, a Chevy dealer in Oklahoma got the gold car in December of '66. It was touted on the sales floor there for years, and the first private owner didn't come until 1969. This short documentary goes into astonishingly comprehensive detail about every bit of the first Camaro's history. If you just want to hear the story of the latest owners and their work to get the vehicle restored since 2010, skip about 11 minutes into the video. Or, of course, you could just enjoy the whole thing. News Source: PilotCarRegistry via YouTube, Camaro NewsTip: Chris P. Next-gen GMC Sierra spied with diesel power

Tue, Sep 5 2017

The next generation of GM trucks is arriving soon, and we're expecting a huge leap forward over the current lineup. The Chevy Silverado and the GMC SIerra sell extremely well, but haven't done much to move the segment forward in a long time. The Ford F-150 has an all-aluminum body and turbocharged V6 power. The Ram 1500 gained a diesel and coil spring suspension. These spy shots show that diesel may be in the cards for GM. Some quick shots and copious use of flash show what is most likely a tank for diesel exhaust fluid and a diesel particulate filter, both necessary equipment for any modern diesel. It's unclear what form factor that engine will come in, though GM has a number of engines to choose from, including the 2.8-liter inline four that's found in the Colorado and Canyon, though that may be a little light duty for the Silverado and Sierra. Other rumors surrounding the trucks suggest a move to an aluminum cab while retaining a steel bed. That seems like a reasonable move for GM, even if the company was attempting to shame Ford for its move to aluminum a few years ago. Look for more news as early as the Detroit Auto Show in January.
