Rare 1971 Chevy Impala Convertible with BB 402, Turbo 400 transmission with shift kit up for auction!!! Runs and drives fine. This car sounds and runs amazing (I have a video of the engine running if you would like to see it - email me and I will send it to you via email. Ebay will not let me post a video) Although it runs and drives fine, it has not been a daily driver for the last 2 years. This is still a project and needs to be restored, but what an awesome starting point!
Again - has the Big Block 402 Turbo 400 Transmission with shift kit It has 86K miles. Has dual exhaust Does have rust in the trunk pan (see pics) Has some rust in one rocker panel and one fender well (see pics) Floors are solid Body is straight Needs carpet & new top Has working power windows Has tilt steering Originally had AC, but has been removed, but ALL parts are in the trunk, including the belt The original valve covers are in the trunk as well. One center cap is missing I've tried to take as many pictures as possible showing the condition. I have been completely honest about everything I can think of. I am not a professional though, so I am just hoping I have listed everything. If there is anything specific you would like to know, PLEASE EMAIL AND ASK. Race Recap: 2013 Twelve Hours of Sebring, cakewalk up front, grindfest out back [w/spoilers]
Tue, 19 Mar 2013This year's 12 Hours of Sebring wasn't exactly a foregone conclusion because we're still talking about racing, and anything can happen when the speeds are as high as the adrenaline and the desire. But we're still talking about Audi bringing it's two top-spec racers - and its huge budget and its nearly neurotic attention to detail - to a race that it uses as a test bed for The 24 Hours of Le Mans and as a way to open the endurance racing season with a victory.
Besides, 12 hours is a long time, especially at Sebring, and things didn't go all Audi's way. On top of that, although it was a pretty quiet race, behind the Audis things got even grimier, with plenty of battles, plenty of mechanical issues, and the new BMW Z4 GTE and Viper GTS-R being race tested. Oh, and that brand new chromed-out DeltaWing...
Next-gen Chevy Volt will get 1.5-liter, four-cylinder engine
Tue, Oct 28 2014As General Motors gets ready to unveil the new Chevy Volt at the Detroit Auto Show in January, it's starting to reveal a few more details about the updated plug-in hybrid. Today should be fruitful on that front, thanks to an event GM is hosting today that focuses on the new Volt, and we've just had the first bit of new: a bigger engine is coming. Since the beginning, the Volt has used a 1.4-liter, four-cylinder engine as a range extender when the battery runs dry. The second-generation model will instead get a slightly larger 1.5-liter, four-cylinder engine that will be built in Flint, MI. That's a step up from the various engines that have been a part of the 2016 Volt's rumored mills, everything from a 1.0-liter or 1.2-liter three-cylinder to a 2.0-liter turbo. The confirmation about the new 1.5-liter powerplant was found in Automotive News, where we also heard again that GM is going to start building the new Volt's electric drive unit in Detroit, moving production up from Mexico. We will have more information on the 2016 Chevy Volt later today.
Feds open investigation into Chevy Express, Ford Freestar rust issues
Wed, 28 Dec 2011'Tis the season... for road salt. And with that, comes rust. And what does rust bring? Well, for Ford and General Motors, a National Highway Traffic Safety Administration investigation. According to The Detroit News, NHTSA is looking into potential recalls issues with Chevrolet Express vans and Ford Freestar minivans.
The feds have received five complaints that rust has caused leaking fuel filler pipes on 2003 Express vans. Separately, seven complaints have been filed over excessive rust in the rear wheel wells of 2004 Ford Freestar and Mercury Monterey minivans. The Freestar and Monterey went out of production in 2007. Neither issue has resulted in any crashes or injuries, according to the report.
