Classic 1994 Impala Ss. Beautiful Condition. on 2040-cars
Millboro, Virginia, United States
Beautiful 1994 Impala SS. Extremely clean and very well taken care of its entire life. Mobil 1 synthetic oil since new. NC car originally sold new in Raleigh, NC. Due to a few rock chips, the car was recently repainted to freshen it up. Paint was 100% original until that time. Car is garage kept and has not been in the weather since it was painted. The original 1/4 panel emblems were dry and brittle and needed to be replaced but I did not due to the fact that I think the car looked much cleaner with them removed. They are still available from GM if the new owner wants to put them back on. The thin door strips on the doors were not reinstalled for a cleaner smoother look. Other than that the body is stock. I have the original window sticker, owners manual, both sets of keys with remotes, as well as other paper work from when the car was new and being released in 94. The trunk lid has been signed on the inside by Jon C. Moss from GM. For those who do not know who he is, he is the man who worked with GM to design and bring back the Impala SS from 94-96. The interior is in excellent condition with no cracks in the dash and the seats look like they have not been sat in. Carpet and floor mats are in great shape. Everything works on the car. The car was 100% stock when I bought it about 3 years ago. I have only put about 5,000 miles on the car since I purchased it. The vehicle now has Hotchkis Coil Springs which lowers it about 1.5-2.0 inches from stock, and Hotchkis Rear Trailing Arms. The rear trailing arms are designed to center the rear wheels in the fender wells. The factory ring and pinion gear ratio 3.08 has been replaced with Richmond 4.11 gears. The exhaust is custom and sounds amazing. It has turn downs right in front of the rear diff. The factory "home plate" intake has been replaced by a K&N Cold Air Intake. I have tuned the car with a Hypertech Programmer so it runs and drives amazing and the speedometer is 100% accurate and the shift points are good and solid. The wheels are American Racing Nova's 20x8.5 wrapped in 255/30ZR20 Falken Tires the front and 20x11.5 wrapped in 305/25ZR20 Falken Tires in the rear. All factory parts from a 96 Impala SS to do the floor shift conversion that was offered only in 1996 are included in the auction including the console, shifter, cables, new column, and the trans tunnel bracket to mount the shifter and console. All of these parts are discontinued and unavailable and extremely rare. If you are able to find a complete set you are looking at close to $1000-$1500 for the conversion parts needed. The parts are in excellent condition. You will not find a cleaner Impala SS with more history since new. Car is listed for my Son and is now located in Millboro, VA. If you have any questions feel free to call or text Gary at (252) 702-2564.

GM recalling 316k vehicles due to headlamp faults
Mon, Dec 1 2014General Motors has announced a recall covering 316,357 vehicles globally, due to the possibility of sporadic or permanent failure of the low-beam headlamps. 273,182 of these vehicles are in the United States, while the remaining affected units are in Canada, Mexico, and elsewhere. This recall includes the 2006-09 Buick LaCrosse (pictured above), 2006-07 Chevy TrailBlazer and TrailBlazer EXT, 2006-07 GMC Envoy and 2006 GMC Envoy XL, 2006-07 Buick Rainier, 2006-08 Saab 9-7X, and 2006-08 Isuzu Ascender. In an email sent to Autoblog, General Motors explains that if the headlamp driver modules are not functioning correctly, "the low-beam headlamps and daytime running lamps could intermittently or permanently fail to illuminate." GM states that this problem does not affect things like high-beams, turn signals, marker lamps, or foglamps. As of this writing, GM states it "has not been able to confirm whether the HDMs in these vehicles caused any vehicle accidents." The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration has been notified, but the recall has not yet posted to the government agency's website. Scroll down to read the full details in GM's email. General Motors is recalling 273,182 Buick LaCrosse sedans and Chevrolet, GMC, Buick, Saab and Isuzu midsize SUVs in the U.S. for possible intermittent or permanent loss of low beam headlamps. Affected models are: 2006-2009 Buick LaCrosse sedans; 2006-2007 Chevrolet TrailBlazer and 2006 TrailBlazer EXT; 2006-2007 GMC Envoy and 2006 Envoy XL; 2006-2007 Buick Rainier; 2006-2008 Saab 9-7X and 2006-2008 Isuzu Ascender midsize SUVs. If the headlamp driver modules is not operating correctly, the low-beam headlamps and daytime running lamps could intermittently or permanently fail to illuminate. This condition does not affect the high-beam headlamps, marker lamps, turn signals, or fog lamps. GM has not been able to confirm whether the HDMs in these vehicles caused any vehicle accidents. The total population, including the U.S., Canada, Mexico and exports from North America is 316,357. The NHTSA was sent the Part 573 information for this recall on November 25. It has not yet posted to the NHTSA website. These are 2014's best-selling cars and trucks
Tue, Jan 6 2015Now that 2014 is no more than a set of numbers on spreadsheets, at last, the grist mill gets its first real load to chew on. The number one selling vehicle in America last year was the Ford F-Series, a fact that should surprise you only if your family name is Van Winkle and your naps tend to last 38 years, which is how long the Ford pickup has ruled our buying landscape. Even though series sales were down 1.3 percent, it still racked up 753,851 units. That's 2,065.3 sales per day, every day, all year. The Chevrolet Silverado, up 10.3 percent for the year, was still a daylight second at 529,755 units. The cab-and-bed love continued into third place with the Ram 1500-3500 trucks, gaining 23.6-percent year-on-year to clock 439,789 units. The robust turnout at The Bighorn and Jeep helped Fiat-Chrysler increase its sales by 16 percent, past the two-million mark. Our number one car? The Toyota Camry, staying in first place with a 4.9-percent sales boost to 428,606 sales, trailed again by the Honda Accord at number five with 388,374 sales. Accord sales rose six percent, and if it's any consolation to Honda for coming in second - not that it needs one - it is the only manufacturer to have three vehicles in the top ten. The rest of the list: the Nissan Altima with 335,644 sales (+4.7%), the Honda CR-V with 355,019 (+10.2%), the Toyota Corolla/Matrix combo with 339,498 (+5.9%), the Honda Civic with 325,981 (-3.1%), and the Ford Fusion with 306,860 sales (+2.9%). Total sales for the year were up six percent to 16.5 million vehicles, a volume not seen since 2006, aided by a strong December that was up by 11 percent year-on-year. Ford was the top selling brand overall but sales didn't really budge from 2013, while Subaru rocketed up 21 percent to finish with 513,693 sales. At the precious end, BMW, Audi, Porsche and Land Rover all had record years, and Kelley Blue Book thinks we could be looking at 17 million sales for the next two or three years. Looks like it's time to start making hay again... Watch this creative way to pull a truck's engine
Fri, 08 Mar 2013Living in an apartment complex has its benefits, but for shade-tree mechanics who like/need to work on their own cars, it definitely has a number of disadvantages. Relatively simple tasks such as brake jobs and oil changes are difficult when you don't have dedicated driveway space, to say nothing of more in-depth repairs... like pulling an engine, for example.
For these types of challenges, a little ingenuity and plenty of muscle are needed to get the job done. Scroll down to watch these four men snatch the V8 out of a Chevrolet K1500 using nothing but a chain, landscape timber and good ol' fashioned brute strength. Good work, gentlemen.
