Super Clean 1975 Chevrolet (Chevy) Impala 2 dr. Hardtop coupe.  Very clean, original car.  This dove grey w/ black leather interior beauty sports a 5.7 liter, 350 c.i., 2 barrel motor matched up to an automatic transmission.   It has power steering, power brakes and an am/fm stereo.  Original options on the car include the vinyl top, sport mirrors and wire wheel covers.  This super clean beauty only has 40,167 ORIGINAL MILES!  It has the original window sticker boasting a price of just over $5300!!  I just purchased this car from the ORIGINAL OWNER....that's right...it was in the same hands since new up until last week!!!  ALWAYS GARAGED, which is why this land yacht is as clean and meticulous as it is.  The body is super straight and without rust.  The left rear 1/4 panel had some very small dents repaired back in 1979 and was re-sprayed at time.  You cannot tell and would not know had I not pointed it out in the interest of complete disclosure. Otherwise, there is no paint work that has been done to this car.  The black leather interior is virtually flawless, as the day it left the factory.  No rips or tears and no visible wear.  The undercarriage of this car is as clean as the top side.  The only real flaw to mention is the right, front bumper filler is missing as depicted in the one photo.  The other three bumper fillers are present.  The do have some age related cracks in them.  Overall, this car is a 9.0+ on a scale of 1 to 10.  I'm sure you would not be disappointed.  Please email any additional questions or any requests for specific photos that may not be included in this listing.

SHIPPING:  I am willing to deliver this car within 250 miles of Pittsburgh, PA (zip 15237) for a very reasonable rate.  Anything beyond 250 miles, and it becomes the buyer's sole responsibility to transport the car.  I will work with you on setting up a carrier, or you can come and get it yourself.

5 reasons why GM is cutting jobs, closing plants in a healthy economy

Tue, Nov 27 2018

DETROIT — Even though unemployment is low, the economy is growing and U.S. auto sales are near historic highs, General Motors is cutting thousands of jobs in a major restructuring aimed at generating cash to spend on innovation. It's the new reality for automakers that are faced with the present cost of designing gas-powered cars and trucks that appeal to buyers now while at the same time preparing for a future world of electric and autonomous vehicles. GM announced Monday that it will cut as many as 14,000 workers in North America and put five plants up for possible closure as it abandons many of its car models and restructures to focus more on autonomous and electric vehicles. The reductions could amount to as much as 8 percent of GM's global workforce of 180,000 employees. The cuts mark GM's first major downsizing since shedding thousands of jobs in the Great Recession. The company also said it will stop operating two additional factories outside North America by the end of next year. The move to make GM get leaner before the next downturn likely will be followed by Ford Motor Co., which also has struggled to keep one foot in the present and another in an ambiguous future of new mobility. Ford has been slower to react, but says it will lay off an unspecified number of white-collar workers as it exits much of the car market in favor of trucks and SUVs, some of them powered by batteries. Here's a rundown of the reasons behind the cuts: Coding, not combustion CEO Mary Barra said as cars and trucks become more complex, GM will need more computer coders but fewer engineers who work on internal combustion engines. "The vehicle has become much more software-oriented" with millions of lines of code, she said. "We still need many technical resources in the company." Shedding sedans The restructuring also reflects changing North American auto markets as manufacturers continue to shift away from cars toward SUVs and trucks. In October, almost 65 percent of new vehicles sold in the U.S. were trucks or SUVs. That figure was about 50 percent cars just five years ago. GM is shedding cars largely because it doesn't make money on them, Citi analyst Itay Michaeli wrote in a note to investors. "We estimate sedans operate at a significant loss, hence the need for classic restructuring," he wrote. The reduction includes about 8,000 white-collar employees, or 15 percent of GM's North American white-collar workforce. Some will take buyouts while others will be laid off.

EcoCar3 will convert Camaro to bitchin' eco rides

Sat, Apr 26 2014

In the 47-year-history of the Chevrolet Camaro, there have been countless college-age kids spending a ton of time getting under the hood and souping 'em up. Now, General Motors is adding a twist to the concept by donating 16 Camaros for the EcoCar challenge that puts university teams together to wring out better fuel-efficiency out of various vehicles. No word on whether there will be donuts on anyone's lawn, as suggested by 80's punks the Dead Milkmen, but the idea's never a bad one. EcoCar3 will feature 16 teams such as Arizona State, Penn State, Ontario's University of Waterloo and, of course, Detroit's Wayne State University. They'll spend the next four years "[reducing] environmental impact, while maintaining the muscle and performance expected from this iconic American car," as the EcoCar organizers say. The goal is to maintain body design and safety standards while boosting efficiency and lowering emissions, but the actual process is far more complicated than that description suggests. The California Air Resources Board (CARB) and Bosch are among the sponsors of the contest, which is also put on by the US Department of Energy and managed by Argonne National Laboratory. Penn State won Year Two of the three-year EcoCar 2 competition with its E85 plug-in hybrid electric vehicle converted out of a Chevy Malibu. The grand-prize winner of EcoCar2 will be announced in June. Check out the EcoCar3 website and see the announcement video below for more details. This content is hosted by a third party.
