I have for sale an incredibly original 1970 Impala Sport Coupe with 10,535 original miles. It is Champagne Gold with a medium gold cloth interior. It is equipped with a 350/250hp engine and a powerglide transmission. The car runs and drives like it is brand new. I have the original owners packet, Protecto-Plate, Owners Manual and buildsheet.
The exterior of this vehicle is in fantastic original condition with no rust. The original paint has excellent shine and zero checking. There is a small crease that is on the back edge of the passenger side door and passenger quarter panel forward of the wheel opening(Look at close up pic). There is also a brush touch up on the top of the passenger side quarter(also shown in pic). Other than these two spots the paint is in unbelieveable condition for 43 year old lacquer. The chrome and all brightwork is virtually flawless with the exception of a quarter sized ding on the rear bumper. All glass is damage free and looks new. The car also retains all four of its original T3 headlamps.
The interior of the car is the best original interior I have ever seen for a car of this age. It shows abolutely zero wear on the seats, steering wheel, door panels, carpet, headliner, and dashboard. Best of the best.
The engine compartment appears to be 100% original with the exception of the valve covers being repainted. It is in very good shape for its age, but does have some very light surface rust in multiple areas as you would expect. The complete drivetrain is original and untouched.
The undercarriage of this vehicle is excellent and rust free. I have crawled under every square inch of this car and could not find a single bit or rust through or rot. The floorboards, trunkpan, rockers, and rear dropdowns are beautiful. It retains all four of its original spiral shocks, but has had the rear springs replaced. The car does not leak a drop of anything.
I have described this car to the best of my ability and welcome any inspectors or experts to confirm what I have stated. I can also take additonal pics or video for any serious buyers. If you would like any more information, feel free to call me anytime at (636)459-0818. Thanks for your interest.
I talked to the son of the original owner less than a week ago. He told me that he owned the car until 2007. He also stated that the car never had any type of repair or repaint from new. He said that the car had 9400 miles in 2007 and that it was absolutely original mileage. I have all of his contact info which will be given to the next owner.

GM to trim Russian output, raise prices amid currency woes
Thu, Feb 5 2015General Motors is shutting down its factory in Russia's second largest city, St. Petersburg, from the middle of March until the middle of May as the country's currency, the ruble, continues to give economists fits. The ruble's value has plunged due not only to western sanctions, but a precipitous fall in oil prices. We knew these factors were already impacting the auto industry there, as Ford reported in its 2014 earnings statement, and now they're forcing GM to cut production at the factory, shown above, that is responsible for production of the Chevrolet Cruze and Opel Astra. Meanwhile, Automotive News is citing Russian outlet Kommersant as saying that GM has hiked its prices in the country by an average of 20 percent over the past two months. While a GM spokesman confirmed the St. Petersburg plant would be shut down for the two-month span reported by Kommersant and AN, he would not confirm the price increase. 24 Hours of Le Mans live update part two
Sun, Jun 19 2016We tasked surfing journalist Rory Parker to watch this year's live stream of the 2016 24 Hours of Le Mans. What follows is an experiment to experience the world's greatest endurance race from the perspective of a motorsports novice. Parker lives in Hawaii and can hold his breath longer than he can go without swearing. For Part One, click here. Or you can skip ahead to Part Three here. I write about surfing for a living. If you can call it a living. Basically means I spend my days fucking around and my wife pays for everything. Because she's got a real job that pays well. Brings home the bacon. Very progressive arrangement. Super twenty first century. I run a surf website, beachgrit.com, with two other guys. It's a strange gig. More or less uncensored. Kind of popular. Very good at alienating advertisers. My behavior has cost us a few bucks. I'm terrible at self-censorship. Know there's a line out there, no idea where it lies. I still don't understand any of the technical side. Might as well be astrophysics or something. For contests I do long rambling write ups. They rarely make much sense. Mainly just talk about my life, whatever random thoughts pop into my head. "Can you do something similar for Le Mans?" "Sure, but I know absolutely fuck-all about racing." "That's okay. Just write what you want." "Will do. But you're gonna need to edit my stuff. Probably censor it heavily." So here I am. I spent the last week trying to learn all I can about the sport of endurance racing. But there's only so much you can jam in your head. And I still don't understand any of the technical side. Might as well be astrophysics or something. While I rambled things were happening. Tracy Krohn spun into the gravel on the Forza chicane. #89 is out of the race after an accident I missed. Pegasus racing hit the wall on the Porsche curves. Bashed up front end, in the garage getting fixed. Toyota and Porsche are swapping back and forth in the front three. Ford back in the lead in GTE Pro. #91 Porsche took a stone through the radiator, down two laps. Not good. The wife and I are one of those weird childless couples that spend way too much time caring for the needs of their pet. French bulldog, Mr Eugene Victor Debs. Great little guy. Spent the last four years training him to be obedient and friendly. Nice thing about dogs, when you're sick of dealing with them you can just lock 'em in another room for a few hours. You don't need to worry about paying for college.
Chevy working on production Impala Midnight Edition
Sat, Dec 13 2014To put together the Impala Blackout concept for SEMA, Chevrolet didn't need to go much further than its accessories catalog. The in-house connection is what could make it possible for Chevy to get a production version of the Blackout into dealers this model year, with its few bits of chrome trim and dark detailing on the 19-inch aluminum wheels set into an abyss of gloss black paint, black Bowtie, grille surround, rear spoiler and mirror caps. The interior is black leather, with stainless steel for the sill plates and pedals, and an 11-speaker Bose audio system, and it gets the optional 305-horsepower, 3.6-liter V6. The brand's marketing director for cars and crossovers, Steve Majoros, told Edmunds that it could come in late spring, and that it will be called "Midnight Edition." Majoros didn't give any indication of pricing or if the production car will be spec'd out like the concept. If you simply don't want to wait for late spring, you could work your DIY mojo by putting one together the same way Chevrolet did: give the accessories catalog a workout. Related Video:
