1965 Impala Convertible 64,65,66,67,68,69 on 2040-cars
Bronx, New York, United States
Up for auction is my 1965 Chevy Impala Convertible, This is a project vehicle & does need some work but it is a true convertible that is mostly all there with clean paperwork. Orange exterior, black vinyl interior, V-8 350 8 cyl engine with a 2 barrel carbureator, Dual Exhaust, original am radio, dash is not cut up & butchered like a lot of these are, new motor mounts, new fuel pump, new front arm rest pads, new front hood emblem insert, good chassis, seats are all there but from the cold & sun are dry rotted & will need to be upholstered, Needs new convertible top, all glass is there & good & roll up & down properly, the back /rear window is there & is glass & not plastic, there is a rust hole in the drivers side front floor & on the passsenger side front 1/4 panel but I have both brand new panels that come with the car. There is some rust holes in the trunk as you can see in the pics but they sell the trunk replacement pans in the chevy books. I have a Clean New York State Registration in my name. NYS does not use titles for vehicles prior to 1975 but uses transferable registrations instead. This is a great father son project for someone who knows how to weld the floor & trrunk pieces in. I do not know how to weld & the other convertible that i have does not need any welding otherwise i would keep them both.. The convertible has all the convertible bows, lines & pump that are often missing in these cars. There is some minor rust holes on the trunk deck lid but the car comes with an extra trunk lid.
I was going to fix the convertible up but as you can see from some of the pics, we had a long & bad winter here & had lots of snow & the weight of the snow caved in the roofs on my garage & shed. Under that shed is a 1964 Impala Convertible & I have to get that out & ready for the summer & need the money to redo the roofs & fix the convertible so a few vehicles will have to go,. Please check back as I will soon be listing a 2002 Taurus with 79425 miles, 95 dodge van with 86600 miles, 2004 Taurus with 62452 miles, 2001 chevy cab & 1/2 silverado pick up, 1999 ford ranger cab & 1/2 pick up , 1969 Buick Skylark 2 door , a 1962 Impala 4 door running project & a 1964 Impala 4 door project.. Im not looking to get rich on the cars but just trying to get my money back to use the money for other things. Selling as is, where is, with no warranties or guarantees. You are more than welcome to come by & bring your mechanic to look over the vehicles if you are in or near the Hunts Point section of the Bronx. I will not ship the vehicle but I will assist with loading on this end. Shipping is the sole responsibility of the winning bidder. There is a 100. deposit due within 24 hours after the end of the auction via paypal. no exceptions. I read the book " computers for dummies" & could not figure it out, but I was still able to set up a pay pal account & pay for items online, so if I can do it, you can do it. . The balance of the funds are to be paid by money order or check after clearance by my bank or by cash at pick up. If you have less than 10 positive feedback , then contacted me first or I will cancel your bids , block you from all of my future auctions & notify ebay on you. Now for the Scammers:::: I will not accept your or your clients check & give you back the balance. If you want to buy the yehicle for your client, then you buy it & sell it to them. I will not release the vehicle or the paperwork till the vehicle is paid in full. Im sorry if your truck happens to be in the area before the check clears. All checks including cashiers & certified checks must first clear my bank before the vehicle or the paperwork is released. Once you have paid for the vehicle in full, you can ship the vehicle to any county that you want since you the winning bidder are responsible for all shipping costs. I will assist with loading onto the flatbed or tow truck on this end. |

GM's Oshawa plant may close after Camaro production moves
Sat, Feb 7 2015Most of the time, when vehicle production is moved from one assembly plant to another, it spells bad news for the former. While General Motors won't go so far as to say its Oshawa, Ontario factory, which is losing the Chevrolet Camaro to the Lansing Grand River plant, is in trouble, analysts seem to think the factory's days are numbered. Forecasts for the facility are far from positive. The loss of the Camaro this year, combined with GM's targeted shutdown of a single-shift assembly line responsible for the fleet-only Chevy Impala Limited and the Equinox crossover is a bad enough omen. But with AutoForecast Solutions CEO Joe McCabe telling The Detroit News that the plant's other two products, the Cadillac XTS and Buick Regal, aren't likely to stick around beyond 2017, things look decidedly grim at Oshawa. "There is a fairly strong chance that the plant could close," Jeff Schuster, senior VP of forecasting for LMC Automotive, told The Detroit News. That doesn't mean that Unifor, Canada's auto union, and the Canadian government are going to let the factory die without a fight. And with the latter chipping in $10 billion as part of GM's 2009 bailout, you might think it has a degree of leverage in the situation. A meeting between the government and the Detroit Three at the 2015 North American International Auto Show revealed that Oshawa is already a topic of conversation. "We made it very clear that we would like to see an indication on the future of Oshawa sooner, in particular because the timing is very challenging for our supply chain to be able to adjust to potentially future orders or changes, but also to know that there are going to be future opportunities at Oshawa," Ontario's Minister of Economic, Development, Employment and Infrastructure Brad Duguid told The Detroit News. "Bottom line: It's time they made a longer-term commitment here," Unifor President Jerry Dias said, echoing Duguid's statements. It's unclear if this sort of strong talk will be enough to save 3,300-plus employees, although based on the analysts' forecasts, we doubt it.
Mark Reuss: GM can't afford product 'misses,' has 'thought about' CT6 V-Series
Thu, Apr 9 2015Mark Reuss is a busy man. He oversees General Motors' global product portfolio, an all-encompassing task for a company that sold more than 9.9 million cars and trucks last year. When GM launches a well-received product, like the road-going rocket ship that is the Chevrolet Corvette Z06 – he gets credit. When the company stumbles with the slow-selling Chevy Malibu or grapples with fallout from the decade-old Saturn Ion and its flawed ignition switch, he gets blamed. GM owners, the press and sometimes the federal government, demand answers. Bob Lutz famously held the job before Reuss. So did Mary Barra, who's now GM's chief executive. There's a New GM, but the lineage is connected to a long history. When he's not thinking product, Reuss, an executive vice president, also runs the purchasing and supply chain for the company, which is still one of the largest industrial empires in the world. We caught up with Reuss on the floor of the New York Auto Show, where GM had just rolled out two crucial new products: the 2016 Cadillac CT6 and the 2016 Chevrolet Malibu. Speaking with a small group of reporters, Reuss delved into a variety of subjects, including the new Malibu, Cadillac's future (he thinks the ATS-V is going to "flame the M3 and M4"), and other topics. On fixing the Malibu: "We can't miss. We can't have those kinds of misses [like the previous generation] on our cars and crossovers and trucks. We can't do that. If we do that, we give a reason for someone to go buy something else. It's that simple. "On a car like the Malibu we have a chance to really fix all of that, which we have, and then lead. Then you've got a real opportunity there. So that's what we've really been focused on here – to fix those things." He later added: "We need that car here to transform Chevrolet desperately because it's the heart of the market. And when you think of Chevrolet, people will come back and think about what we did with the [new] Malibu and the Cruze... It's hugely important to us." On Cadillac: "If we go out and try and out-German the Germans, it's probably not going to work. We've got an opportunity here generationally where there's a lot of people younger than me that have parents that drove BMWs and Mercedes, and I think there's an opportunity there for those people to drive something different than what their parents did, and I think that's always been an opportunity in the auto industry if you look at the history of it.
GM plans to restart production in Mexico on May 20
Mon, May 18 2020MEXICO CITY — General Motors is tentatively planning to restart operations at its auto assembly plant in the Mexican city of Silao on May 20, according to a message to workers seen by Reuters on Sunday, as the car industry prepares to exit the coronavirus lockdown. Separately, the president of GM's Mexican unit advised suppliers to prepare to resume operations. “We are now beginning a new phase given the Mexican governmentÂ’s official announcement earlier this week to consider the transportation manufacturing industry as essential for the countryÂ’s economy,” Francisco Garza, president ofGeneral Motors de Mexico, wrote in an email to suppliers dated on Friday that was viewed by Reuters. The reopening of the plant in Silao would be a positive signal for the auto sector in North America, whose supply lines are highly interconnected between the United States, Mexico and Canada. The plant in the central state of Guanajuato has been idled for weeks due to the coronavirus outbreak. Workers had previously been told to plan to return to their jobs on May 18. A GM spokeswoman said the company could not confirm when it would restart operations at any of its facilities in Mexico because it is awaiting more guidance from the government. The message to the plant's workers came after the government on Friday clarified when the industry could begin easing restrictions imposed because of the health emergency. On Wednesday, the government said automakers could start going back into production from May 18. It then withdrew that advice and suggested the new start date would be June 1. Finally it indicated the sector, which forms the backbone of Mexican manufacturing, could begin operating as soon as next week if companies had the required safety measures in place. U.S. officials and its auto industry have pressed Mexico's government to get its factories open again because American operations depend heavily on parts from south of the border. However, some politicians are wary of opening too fast. Mexico registered its first case of coronavirus weeks after the United States and Canada and the toll of daily infections and deaths in the country reached new peaks over the past few days. The Silao production facility, which makes highly profitable pickup trucks for GM, is one of the biggest automotive plants in Guanajuato, a major Mexican carmaking state. Related Video:
