1965 Chevrolet 2 door impala coupe, not a SS car. The color is the original Evening Orchid  and was repainted about 7 years ago and  some trim has been replaced. The Impala came from Nev. and  is rust free and has been kept stored inside and with a calif. brand car cover on it. Also the cover go's with the sale of the car. The motor is a Chevy. 350 with a mild crane cam and camel hump heads. It has a Edelbrock carb and K&N air filter. Accel HEI distributor, Accel  shorty spark plugs, Taylor plug wires, chrome valve covers, chrome alternator, chrome air cleaner, chrome power steering pump and chrome brake booster and master cyl. chrome fan blade and a 180 deg   thermostat which also engages the electric fan at 180 degs I never have had the car heat up on me when in a parade,,circle track quick steering box, be cool aluminum radiator, chrome water pump with chrome pulleys.  the Hedmon shorty headers are also chrome and are treated. There are lots of ARP fasteners. The NAPPA battery is less than 1 year old. The motor oil is changed with a top grade of oil and is done twice a year. the motor has appox. 1,800 miles on it. The  engine is painted the same color as the car and looks great with all the chrome on it. The hood latch and hood springs are powder coated the same color It has a TCI street fighter transmission with a shift kit and separate transmission cooler. It also has a Lokar flex dip stick. The transmission is operated by a B&M mega shifter with a quick shift rachet type cable shifter. and it works smooth. The front end has a Fat man 2 1/2 drop inch spindles with disk brakes and new shocks. The rear has air shocks. The windshield was replaced on 11/2013.The wheels are centerline brand and the rear tires are BF Goodrich P205/60R15 and the front are high speed Toyo Spectrums P205/65R15 92T. I used this combination for safety purposes and durability. The interior has been redone with tuck and roll soft leather  fabric. The radio is a updated custom sound AM/FM/ cassette player placed in the original radio spot in the dash. It has Kenwood three way speakers in the rear and speakers under the front seats. The headliner has been replaced as well as noise dampener installed in the back of the rear seat .it has Summit oil and water temperature gauges and purple neons lights under the car which really look great at night or in a parade or cruise. The tail lights have a blue dot in the center. The trunk has noise dampener and carpet in it along with the original spare tire and jack. this Impala has been to the Hot Aug. nights with lots of dash plaque on the inside of the trunk lid. and is a very safe and dependable car with lots of power when you need it. Also it has Chevrolet  heart beat of America front floor mats. fuzzy dice.

Autoblog's Editors' Picks: Our complete list of the best new vehicles

Mon, May 13 2024

It's not easy to earn an “EditorsÂ’ Picks” at Autoblog as part of the rating and review process that every new vehicle goes through. Our editors have been at it a long time, which means weÂ’ve driven and reviewed virtually every new car you can go buy on the dealer lot. There are disagreements, of course, and all vehicles have their strengths and weaknesses, but this list features what we think are the best new vehicles chosen by Autoblog editors. We started this formal review process back in 2018, so there's quite of few of them now. So what does it mean to be an EditorsÂ’ Pick? In short, it means itÂ’s a car that we can highly recommend purchasing. There may be one, multiple, or even zero vehicles in any given segment that we give the green light to. What really matters is that itÂ’s a vehicle that weÂ’d tell a friend or family member to go buy if theyÂ’re considering it, because itÂ’s a very good car. The best way to use this list is is with the navigation links below. Click on a segment, and you'll quickly arrive at the top rated pickup truck or SUV, for example. Use the back button to return to these links and search in another segment, like sedans. If youÂ’ve been keeping up with our monthly series of the latest vehicles to earn EditorsÂ’ Pick status, youÂ’re likely going to be familiar with this list already. If not, welcome to the complete list that weÂ’ll be keeping updated as vehicles enter (and others perhaps exit) the good graces of our editorial team. We rate a new car — giving it a numerical score out of 10 — every time thereÂ’s a significant refresh or if it happens to be an all-new model. Any given vehicle may be impressive on a first drive, but we wait until itÂ’s in the hands of our editors to put it through the same type of testing as every other vehicle that rolls through our test fleet before giving it the EditorsÂ’ Pick badge. This ensures consistency and allows more voices to be heard on each individual model. And just so you donÂ’t think weÂ’ve skipped trims or variants of a model, we hand out the EditorsÂ’ Pick based on the overarching model to keep things consistent. So, when you read that the 3 Series is an EditorsÂ’ Pick, yes, that includes the 330i to the M3 and all the variants in between. If thereÂ’s a particular version of that car we vehemently disagree with, we make sure to call that out.

GM cutting Chevy Sonic, Buick Verano production [UPDATE]

Sun, Jan 25 2015

UPDATE: A previous version of this story indicated that Orion Assembly would be idled for seven weeks, from February 16 through April 6. This was incorrect. The factory will instead only be idled for the weeks of February 16 and April 6. The story has been edited to reflect this. General Motors has announced that the factory responsible for the Buick Verano and Chevrolet Sonic will be idled for the weeks of February 16 and April 6, with blame being placed on excess supply. The Orion Assembly plant, about 45 minutes north of GM's Renaissance Center headquarters, employs about 1,800 people, but they'll be given a pair of furloughs as inventories of the sub-compact Sonic and premium compact Verano reach 127 days and 84 days, respectively. That works out to 26,600 Chevys and 9,800 Buicks waiting for buyers. According to Automotive News, the compact Chevy sales bested the industry average in 2014, jumping up nine percent versus the the overall segment's eight-percent gain, while the Buick sedan's sales were down four percent. When asked about the shutdown, a GM spokesman told AN that it will "build to market demand," while also pointing out that the company did not comment on production plans. Can A Fleet Queen Become a Fullsize King?
On paper, the Chevrolet Impala is a pretty strong seller, posting annual sales that have hovered right around 170,000 units for the last two years, but it only takes one trip to practically any rental car agency to discover where the majority of those sales have come from. In fact, General Motors told Autoblog that a full 70 percent of Impala sales last year went to fleet companies for things like rental cars and government vehicles. Logic tells us that this is neither good for resale values nor name equity, so Chevrolet is getting ready to roll out an all-new Impala with improved comfort, styling and technology, hoping to turn the tables on its retail-to-fleet ratio.
Chevrolet's sedans have come on quite strong in the last few months with the introduction of the Cruze diesel and the SS sedan, but while these will likely be low-volume sellers, there's more pressure for the new Impala to perform well as GM looks to slash fleet sales and compete with the wide variety of full-size sub-luxury sedans. Riding on a platform shared with the Buick LaCrosse and Cadillac XTS, the 2014 Impala will compete against the Hyundai Azera, Ford Taurus and Toyota Avalon on the more traditional side, while also looking to take a bite out of somewhat sportier models like the Chrysler 300/Dodge Charger twins and the Nissan Maxima. We headed to sunny San Diego to see if this totally new Impala can stand on its own without the assistance of fleet companies and rental agencies. [w/video
