'64 Impala Super Sport - 2 door hardtop.

This is a true SS car and not a clone. 327 V8, auto trans, power steering, power brakes, console, and air conditioning (although not currently working). The body is very nice on the car but the paint is old. It still holds a deep shine but it has a few places where the paint is bubbling. It looks to be be more of a bad paint prep issue than rust repair. It doesn't seem to be the case of bondo filling holes.  I took close up photos of the bad spots (and the metal on the other side too if possible). The car was painted in about 1991, drive it as is or take it to the next level and paint it when you can/want/feel the need to. The frame, floor pans, trunk pan, rockers etc all look very good and solid (see photos).  The car runs and drives good. It starts right up everytime and runs nice and cool.  The motor is stock aside from a recently installed, slightly larger "RV" Crane cam. The transmission is a TH-350 automatic. The interior is in good overall condition but does show wear. It has just enough wear to still look good but to be useable without worries. I took a close up photo of the numbers on the front of the motor (believed to be a 65), trim tag, and vin number. This is a factory air car. The compressor was removed by the previous owner and is in the trunk. Mileage stated is just what is showing on the odometer and not deemed actual.  Clear Ky title in my name.  Either left alone and enjoyed just like it is, or restored to it's original glory, this is one pretty '64 SS.

This is the worst spot on the car. The inside of the lip feel crisp. I think this is caused more by bad paint prep than rust repair. The panels look good on the inside looking out.

I think this is more of a dent repair than a rust repair.  The metal feels solid all around and doesn't look rusted out when you look from the inside out.  The paint makes it look worse than it is.

Opel Ampera-e brings a Bolt of EV driving to Europe

Fri, Feb 12 2016

The Chevrolet Bolt will take a trip across the Atlantic in 2017 to become Europe's Opel Ampera-e. General Motors won't release any specs for the foreign version yet, but these photos suggest very minor styling tweaks to the upper level of the grille and to the hatchback to add the appropriate brand emblems. We would expect the same electric motor with 200 horsepower and 266 pound-feet of torque and 60-kWh battery as the US model, too. However, the 200-mile range number might change, but only because of the differences in European testing. GM CEO Mary Barra announced the Ampera-e at the CAR Symposium in Bochum, Germany. "GM and Opel have always been convinced that electric cars will play a defining role in future mobility. The game-changing technology of the Ampera-e is a significant step toward realizing that vision," she said. The Ampera-e is also proof that General Motors loves confusing naming for its green models. If the Volt and Bolt aren't perplexing enough, the Ampera-e is just one letter off from the Ampera – the previous-gen Volt in Europe. GM no longer sells the range-extended vehicle there, so at least both names can't be in showrooms simultaneously. However, the similar monikers still might confuse some customers who think the new EV hatchback is closely related to the old sedan. Opel Group will launch a revolutionary new battery electric car next year, as the company continues the biggest, most far-reaching model offensive in its history with 29 new models between 2016 and 2020. The new five-door, five seat will be called "Ampera-e". It will not only have a longer range on a full charge than most electric cars, it will also be affordably priced. Building on the electrification expertise established with the original Ampera, which set the benchmark for modern electric cars in 2011, the new Ampera-e combines innovative electric-mobility with state-of-the-art connectivity and exciting driving dynamics. Announcing the Ampera-e today at the CAR Symposium in Bochum, Germany, GM Chairman & CEO Mary Barra said: "GM and Opel have always been convinced that electric cars will play a defining role in future mobility.

"Turbo" Chevrolet Camaro is a 700-HP fantasy car come to life [w/video]

Thu, 07 Feb 2013

For a concept car built to promote an animated movie about a snail that wants to go racing, this thing ain't half bad. The outsized monster you see before you started life as a Chevrolet Camaro ZL1, and then went through a big-time Hollywood makeover before being positioned on the Chevrolet stand here in Chicago.
This 2013 "Turbo" Camaro Coupe is getting the promotion machine ratcheted up for a new DreamWorks tale by the name of, you guessed it, Turbo. Coming this summer, the movie will follow one snail's quest to become a race driver worthy of making the cut at the Indy 500. Like many DreamWorks vehicles before it, we're guessing that the petrolhead snail will star in a movie that adults (especially racing fans) with have no trouble watching with their kids. Check out the trailer below to see if you agree.
As for the car, we're told that it is "instrumental" in transforming Turbo from snail into racer. Helping the beastly pony car in this mighty task, is an ankle-cracking front splitter matched by a ungodly huge rear wing out back, a COPO hood and a supercharged (yes, supercharged) V8 engine making more than 700 horsepower. 24-inch wheels all the way around - 10-inches wide in front and 15-inches wide in back - should allow the "Turbo" Camaro to hook up with ease, as well.

Woodward Dream Cruise Photo Gallery | Classics and American muscle

Sun, Aug 21 2022

The 2022 running of the Woodward Dream Cruise just went down, and we were there from morning to evening drinking in the sweet sights and pre-emissions exhaust fumes. Yes, it’s a little smelly on Woodward Ave. this time of year. Just like always, the Dream Cruise invites all comers to cruise their machines on Woodward from Ferndale, MI to Pontiac, MI. Everybody is invited, but the original intent of the Dream Cruise was to highlight classic American muscle cars. YouÂ’ll see plenty of those in our mega gallery above, but weÂ’ve sprinkled it with a bunch of other vehicle types, such as modern muscle and other intriguing American vehicles. Similar to years past, though, sometimes the classics arenÂ’t the most entertaining thing to look at on Woodward. ThatÂ’s why weÂ’ll have other mega galleries coming soon, highlighting the weird cars and (great) dogs of the Cruise, all the imports and exotics you can imagine and a special one for all the trucks of Woodward — perhaps even more so than in years past, the truck population on Dream Cruise day was quite high. Click through above to see all the classics you wouldÂ’ve seen had you been roadside on the day of the cruise. And if you missed this yearÂ’s event, make sure you check out what happens next year. You wonÂ’t be alone, as itÂ’s estimated that over 1 million people attend the Dream Cruise to either watch from the side of the road or to sit in the most glorious traffic jam in the world.
