1964 Chevrolet Biscayne Wagon One Owner Barn Find 64 Chevy Impala Wagon Original on 2040-cars
Fresno, California, United States
I have for sale an original one owner 1964 Chevy Biscayne station wagon that was just removed out of the owners garage where it has been sitting on jack stands since they parked it in 1994. It has a V8, powerglide trans, power steering & factory dual exhaust. There is a ton of paperwork that go's with it for all maintenance & repairs that have been done through the years including a receipt for a transmission rebuild, power steering piston cylinder & hoses, complete brake job with all new parts that were all done in 1992 approx. 200 miles before it was parked. From looking through the paperwork it has 197k. miles on it. The rear differential was replaced in 1988. The engine also has a rebuild stamp on it though I'm not sure when it was rebuilt. This car has never had a repaint or the interior done, as you can see in the pics it has a few scrapes & bruises on the body & the interior could use to be recovered, the grill has a little damage & it's also missing a few mouldings. The bumpers are decent. Still has the original hubcaps & the original bias ply tires are still holding air even the spare but I'd replace them before driving to far. The car was towed out of the garage & we had the fuel tank boiled out, replaced the fuel pump, fuel lines, a new battery, new plugs & she fired right up. It runs great, doesn't smoke, trans shifts smooth, & stops great. The power rear window also works. Glass is good. Dash is clean & uncut. This car has always been in the Fresno area & is rust free. Comes with the Original owners manual, accessory booklet & the owners protection plan. This is a great example of an original unrestored Biscayne 4 door wagon it just needs a little tlc or drive it the way it is. Like I said it hasn't been a daily driver in 20 years so I'd recommend trailering it. It is on a California non-op so there's no back fee's. It is being sold as is if you have any questions send me an e-mail. Thanks On Mar-18-14 at 09:00:28 PDT, seller added the following information:I've had a few questions about the engine it turns out it's not a 283 it's a 250hp 327ci & it is the original block as is the transmission. |

Final C6 Corvette built in Bowling Green
Fri, 01 Mar 2013With all of the attention given to the 2014 Chevrolet Corvette Stingray lately, you could be forgiven for thinking that it's already well along in production, yet tooling up for the new C7 has only just begun. In fact, production of the outgoing C6 generation in Bowling Green, Kentucky just halted on Thursday.
As the C6 has aged, production numbers have predictably ebbed along with demand, but this year, the addition of the 427 and 60th anniversary models resulted in an uptick in vehicles built - this, despite a model year shortened by around 25 percent to accomodate the new model changeover. The final C6 Corvette ever, No. 13,466 built this year, was a white 427 Convertible destined for the General Motors Heritage Center museum. The car's 7.0-liter V8 heart was assembled by Corvette chief engineer Tadge Juechter himself.
In total, Bowling Green pushed out 215,100 C6 Corvettes over nine years. If you're still a C6 fan at heart and are hoping to get a good deal on a phase-out model, step lively - Chevrolet reportedly had about 6,100 unsold units, which Autoweek suggests is good for around five and a half months of supply at the model's current sales rates. Given that demand will likely slacken even further as the C7 draws closer, that should be a big enough stockpile to keep dealers satisfied until 2014 Stingrays begin showing up on their forecourts in December.
2014 Chevrolet Corvette Stingray priced from $51,995*
Fri, 26 Apr 2013After months of speculation, Chevrolet has finally revealed the official starting price of the 2014 Corvette Stingray. The base MSRP for the 450-horsepower Stingray Coupe will be $51,995, while the Stingray Convertible will go for $56,995 (*both prices include a $995 destination fee). This means that the price increase from 2013 to 2014 is just $1,400 for the coupe and $2,395 for the convertible - pretty modest increases considering the upgrade in specifications. Of course, neither price accounts for the sort of dealer markup that might grace early C7 window stickers, especially since less than a third of all Chevrolet dealers will be allocated Corvette models to sell at the car's launch.
Now, these prices are for the base car, so if you're wondering how much a fully loaded Stingray will run, Chevy has given us a good indication of that as well. The coupe we saw on display at the Detroit Auto Show (shown above), for example, would run $73,360 including options such as the $2,800 Z51 Performance Package, $2,495 competition sport seats and the $1,795 Magnetic Ride Control option - just to name a few. Stepping up to the 3LT trim level that brings a full leather interior will run an extra $8,005 over the base price.
While $20,000 in options may seem like a lot, this "as-tested" price still has the C7 competitively priced against rival coupes like the Porsche 911 and Nissan GT-R. Speaking of price comparisons, Chevrolet also points out that the C7 Stingray Z51 costs $2,200 less than the C6 Grand Sport while delivering better acceleration (0-60 mph in less than four seconds) and improved track performance (including more than 1 g in cornering).
