Hi, up for grabs is my California born 1963 Chevy Impala. You can see by the pics below this car is very nice in and out. It has underwent a modest restoration over the last 2 years. Below I will try and be as thorough as possible when describing exactly what I see and know about this car. Starting With The Outside: Excellent two tone blue and white paint job sprayed over a laser straight body. Couple little flaws but definitely nothing that takes away from the quality of the restoration. All exterior chrome is in close to show quality condition including front and rear bumpers and bumper guards. All stainless front and back is in really great shape. There's newer side moldings, new grill, new emblems, outside mirrors, hood lip molding, headlight bezels, parking lamp lenses, outside door handles & knuckle guards, tail lights, dual rear antennas, wiper arms, trunk lid molding top, bottom and side hockey sticks. All headlights, tail lights, turn signals, and high beams work as they should. Now For The Inside: Completely redone...there's new seat foam and seat covers, new door panels, headliner, inner door handles, window cranks, armrest bases, dash pad, floormats, and door sill plates. Carpet is not new but still looks good. There's an aftermarket CD player in the glove box and 2 6x9s mounted on the rear deck panel. All inside lights and electrical work as they should including the dash lights, turn signal lights, and rear dome lamp lights. The lighter, wipers, heater, defrost all work as they should. Dash pic only shows one radio knob but there is 2 new ones now installed. Motor & Transmission: The engine is a very strong running 327 with lots of chrome under the hood. There's new chrome valve covers, Spectre chrome air cleaner and breather, chrome alternator and bracket. There's a new battery, power brake booster, radiator hoses, recorded radiator, fresh tune-up & oil change. Also, I powder coated, the inner fenders, radiator shroud, and fan shroud. The transmission is a 700R4 which is brand new with maybe 150 miles on it. In my eyes it's the best transmission for these cars if you plan on driving on the freeway. It was time consuming for the install but well worth the time and money. Rims & Tires & Undercarriage: The car is currently rolling on a nice set of Cocker whitewalls mounted on a set of stock 14inch wheels powdercoated red with a clean set of hubcaps or if you prefer a skinnier set of whitewalls I have a brand new set that I will swap for. The trunk on this car is super clean with no visible rust. Theres a new matching spare tire, an original jack kit, newer 3 piece mat set, and some orig. jacking instruction decals. The undercarriage is really clean with no signs of rust or soft spots. And was recently undercoated. Also, installed newer exhaust with chrome tips. Above, I've tried to describe this car to the best of my knowledge but if you have anymore questions or concerns please call, or text me at 408-seven12-9four27. This car can be driven as a daily driver or just your weekend cruiser. I sell a lot of cars overseas and can help out with the shipping to the LA ports if needed at a reduced price. |

Tue, Jul 29 2014Bentley has been awarded the Carbon Trust Standard for reductions of carbon, water use and waste production in manufacturing. The Carbon Trust is an organization that helps groups such as businesses and governments reduce carbon emissions, use of energy and resources, and waste output. From 2011 to 2013, Bentley reduced CO2 emissions by 16 percent per car manufactured, curtailed water use by 35.7 percent, and saw significant waste reductions. Darran Messem of Carbon trust says, "Bentley is clearly passionate about continuing to improve its environmental performance, which is reflected by the fact the company has consistently invested in new technology." Read more in the press release below. Chevrolet is giving 12 Volts to MBAs Across America. The organization will use the range-extended electric cars in its efforts to help MBA students learn from and work with small business owners. As part of the MBAs Across America program's first year, four students drove 8,000 miles to provide entrepreneurs with free business counseling. The program has expanded, and this year, teams of MBAs will use the Volts to travel to 25 cities to offer their services. Learn more about the partnership between Chevrolet and MBAs Across America in the press release below. A professor from the University of Michigan has found fuel cycle analysis to be too flawed to be relied upon for measuring CO2 impacts of transportation fuels. Professor John DeCicco of the university's Energy Institute feels that the flaws in calculating the carbon footprint of liquid fuel production and combustion make such lifecycle analysis impractical. He suggests, instead, to focus to carbon capture. Since capturing CO2 directly from a vehicle is probably never going to happen, DiCicco believes the solution is to capture carbon from the atmosphere in sectors outside of transportation. Says DiCicco, "Research should be ramped up on options for increasing the rate at which CO2 is removed from the atmosphere and on programs to manage and utilize carbon fixed in the biosphere, which offers the best CO2 removal mechanism now at hand. Such strategies can complement measures that control the demand for liquid fuels by reducing travel activity, improving vehicle efficiency and shifting to non-carbon fuels." GM applies for LT5, LTX trademarks... are new small block variants coming?
Mon, 29 Apr 2013Recently discovered General Motors trademark applications for LT4, LT5, LT88 and LTX have observers wondering what kind of high-performance offerings could be on their way. A new LT4 would mark a return of the engine designation first used on the Corvette Grand Sport, SLP Pontiac Firehawk and SLP Chevrolet Camaro SS from 1996 and 1997. Supposition at Corvette Forum - which provided advance intel on the C7 like these leaked images - believes a new LT4 could go into the high-performance trim of the next-gen, 2015 Camaro that would be more powerful than the 580-horsepower Camaro ZL1.
Seeing an LT5 again would also be déjà vu - in its former life it was a 5.7-liter V8 for the C4 Corvette ZR-1 from 1990-1994 designed by Lotus, producing from 370 hp to 405 hp. A mix of rumor and hope is that the new LT5 will be a supercharged evolution of the 6.2-liter LT1 (pictured) placed in the new C7 Corvette, and that it will go into the C7 version of the ZR1 pumping out something like 700 hp.
The LTX trademark is, as with that last letter, a complete mystery. If the "X" isn't a generic way to denote the whole LT family, it's wondered if it LTX could refer to a crate motor offering like the LSX.
