1963 Chevrolet Impala Ss Sport Coupe on 2040-cars
Chattanooga, Tennessee, United States
I am relisting this car due to a local sale falling through. This is a rare opportunity to own a very nice and solid, matching numbers 1963 Impala Sport Coupe SS with a 300HP Turbo Fire 327 (factory tach and double hump heads) and a 4 speed transmission. Based on the prior owner’s comments and condition of the car, I believe the car’s actual mileage to be 124,000, but can’t guarantee it. The car starts, runs, shifts, drives and stops great. Car rides on almost new Firestone tires accented with its original SS wheel covers. Car has power brakes but no power steering or AC. We drove it almost 350 miles over Easter weekend with no issues whatsoever. Fly in and drive it home! Originally from Texas, the car has been garage kept for most if not its entire life and it shows. Its been in Georgia and Alabama for the past 15-20 years. One single stage repaint 12-15 years ago back to original color (adobe beige) still looks very good with only a couple of blemishes and paint chips here and there. There is barely any rust anywhere on the entire car, with the possible exception of 2 or 3 small spots less than the size of a pencil eraser on left rear quarter, just above exhaust. This may be from the exhaust heat as the prior owner says they have been there and not grown for years. Body is very straight and solid, as is undercarriage. Chrome, stainless steel and glass is all there and in great condition. I believe it is original. Interior (cordovan brown) appears to be original and is in great condition with the exception of a little wear and tear on the driver’s seat and a place or two on the door panels. All gauges, knobs, wipers, heater, vents, etc. work properly except for clock and fuel gauge which won’t register above 1/2 tank. Radio is aftermarket with cassette player. The car is for sale locally and I reserve the right to end auction at any time. Buyer will be provided with a clear and open GA title. $500 deposit due within 24 hours of auction end. Balance should be paid within 3 days of auction end. Buyer should have car picked up within 10 days of auction end. I have 4 kids and I’d hate for one of them to scratch or damage the car while it sat here in the garage.
Please email any questions and I’ll be in touch ASAP. I have more pictures as well. If there is anything specific, please let me know and I’ll accommodate you as best as I can.
On May-12-14 at 18:01:37 PDT, seller added the following information: Wanted to confirm that this was a matching numbers car. Engine block reads S190397. I tried to take picture but haven't been able to get a good one. |

GM opens military discount to 21M veterans and their spouses
Thu, Apr 7 2016May marks the start of National Military Appreciation Month, and General Motors is getting into the spirit by expanding its military discount program to, well, just about everyone. That includes a total of 21 million military veterans and their spouses, along with the current slate of active duty, reserve, and National Guard members. The discount can slash thousands of dollars off the price of a new Buick, Chevrolet, or GMC vehicles, with Automotive News listing an $1,100 discount on the top gas-powered version of the Malibu, the Premiere. Those that want a bit more spice can get $1,700 off the price of a last-generation 2015 Camaro SS, while truck buyers will enjoy $3,000 off the Chevy Silverado All Star. That's just a start, though, since the military discount can be paired with other GM incentives. The discount doesn't apply to everything, though. Some are understandable – none of Cadillac's vehicles are included in the deal, nor is the Corvette Z06. You'll also be unable to apply the discount to a range of base-level trims, like the Chevy Cruze or Equinox L, the base Colorado, or the entry level GMC Acadia, Canyon, and Terrain. A full list is available at GM's dedicated military discount website. GM's expanded discount plan runs from today through May 31. Car and Driver reveals spy shots of mid-engine 2017 Corvette
Thu, Jan 8 2015Some news in the car world is perennial, and some is perennially wrong. Typically news about some upcoming mid-engined Chevy Corvette has fallen into the latter category, with rumors never yet generating a road car. This time could very well be different. Car and Driver has some exclusive photographs of what would appear to be a Corvette test mule with a mid-mounted engine. The car in question might look like a Holden SSV ute that's undergone some indelicate modification, but C/D editor Don Sherman assures that the bones of a C8 'Vette live within that crude bodywork. Sherman points to the closeness of the cabin to the front axle as clue number one of this car's mid-engine attitude, as well as the powertrain-sized space between the back of the seats and the rear axle. The roof and glasshouse are all clearly plucked from the current C7, and the gas tank filler positioned on the B-pillar is another huge clue. The buff book estimates that the mule points to a timeline for sale, even. Testing on this level could mean a mid-engined C8 ready for sale in as few as 20 months, or for the 2017 model year. Click over to Car and Driver to have a close look at this important set of spy photographs, as well as a rendering of what a finished C8 might ultimately look like
