1962 Chevy Impala 2 door hardtop for sale. These are about the coolest cars on the planet, big, low and loud. Clear Michigan title. This is a running and driving car. It was painted around 2 years ago and sat in a garage and not driven. I acquired it and re-installed the interior, did a basic tune up of plugs, fresh oil and gas to get it running and driving. It has:

  • 327 small block, Demon carb, Edelbrock intake, HEI ignition, lumpy hydraulic cam, aluminum radiator. Runs good, sounds good, is good.
  • TH350 automatic transmission, shifts nice.
  • Power front disk brake conversion stops well.
  • Foose one-off custom wheels, 18's front, 19's rear. Not another set like them anywhere. There is a great story behind these rims. Hint, google "Astroghini".
  • High performance Michelin directional tires.
Now for what it needs:
  • Rear carpet. A full carpet set costs $150, depending on what the new owner wants I can buy and install this.
  • Gas tank has a pin-hole leak and I have it currently removed. I planned to repair it with epoxy, but new tanks are only $80, again I can work with the buyer on that. Its currently running from a gas can secured under the hood.
Rust. There are some holes in the floor, not gaping ones that you'll fall through, but holes all the same. Put carpet over it and forget it or fix, up to you. The body mounts behind the back wheels are rusted away, a common issue I am told. All other body mounts are there. So local inspection highly recommended, I will not attempt to conceal any issues with this car. It can be driven as is as demonstrated in the video, or repair the floors and you'll have a $30,000 car.

Look at the pics, watch the video, ask any and all questions, come and look at it. For high res pics browse to this link click on a pic and use the back button to return. I will send my phone number to anyone who asks. I can also deliver the car on my trailer to Chicago, Detroit, Indianapolis and anywhere in between for gas money. Thanks for looking and have a great 4th!

2020 Chevy Trax spied sporting design cues from the new Blazer

Wed, Oct 3 2018

We saw spy shots in August for what we thought was either a redesigned Chevrolet Trax or new GMC subcompact crossover. At the time we were leaning Chevy. But after this latest batch of spy shots taken near GM's proving grounds, we're now thinking this one is the Trax replacement and the other one was a GMC. For one, the thin row of LEDs looks remarkably similar to the 2019 Chevy Blazer's LED strip. The additional light slightly below that is similar to the Blazer as well, leading us to believe that the next Trax will have a Blazer-esque front end. At first glance, this vehicle looks slightly larger than today's Trax with a much brawnier shape than the current blob-like design. The rear roof cladding could be hiding the same sloped rear window with spoiler hangover we see on the Blazer. Circling back to the other small GM crossover we caught testing, this one doesn't have those Blazer elements. The curved windshield and sloping roof are like those of the GMC Terrain, as are the horizontal grille bars. By contrast, the above car has a straighter windshield and a roof shaped more like the Blazer. One element that does seem to diverge from the new Blazer are the taillights, but they don't exactly look production-ready anyway. If we're right about this being the next Trax (and we're pretty sure we are) then this looks to be a more distinctive vehicle than what it will replace. The mirrors have left their awkward spot on the doors, and it's shaping up to be a much sportier looking crossover as a whole. This vehicle will most likely end up being a 2020 model year car, and if so, we would expect to see undisguised photos of both it and the assumed GMC version next year. 2016 Chevy Volt to make auto show debut this season

Wed, Jul 30 2014

Ever since we saw that spy shots of the 2016 Chevy Volt, we've been hungering for more information on the next-gen version of GM's green halo car. It appears we might not have long to wait, at least for an official tease. An inside source that wishes to remain anonymous told AutoblogGreen that GM will make two announcements regarding the second-gen Volt at the CAR Management Briefing Seminars in Traverse City, MI next week. The first, and most intriguing, is that that we will get our first glimpse of the new Volt at some point during the upcoming auto show season. That means either Los Angeles later this year or else Detroit, Chicago or New York in early 2015. The second bit of news is that GM will be moving production of the electric motors from Mexico to Michigan. Details and official confirmation are, of course, missing and Chevrolet declined comment to AutoblogGreen. We should know more next week.

GM investing $167m in Spring Hill for new midsize vehicles

Tue, 06 Aug 2013

General Motors has announced a large investment in its Spring Hill, Tennessee facility. The former home of Saturn production will be getting a $167 million addition to a previously announced $183 million, to cover a pair of new midsize vehicles. The investment is expected to create 1,800 jobs at the factory.
That $350 million is being divvied up for a pair of programs at Spring Hill. The first will take the bulk of the money ($223 million) and create 1,000 of the 1,800 jobs, while the other will take the remaining $127 million and generate the leftover 800 positions. But GM says the investment will cover "midsize vehicle programs." So what could they be?
The leading candidate in our minds is a new crossover for Buick, called the Anthem, that will slot between the Encore and Enclave, but will be slightly smaller than the Equinox and Terrain. As we've explained, the new model will likely be the first product to sport GM's new D2UX platform, which will eventually replace both the Delta and Theta platforms. Spring Hill is already building the Equinox, so there could be some credence to this theory.
