This car is an absolute BEAST! It starts up with ease, idles clean and smooth, and is about as tuned to perfection as you could ask for!

No idea of the power or torque ratings, because the car has never been on a dyno or to the track. It was built to be a reliable and fun daily driver, and still is!

Power is healthy though, and it feels like it probably has around 400 or so at the rears, and an equal amount of torque off the line.

The motor has been apart and rebuilt and tweaked and tuned so often, that it is in clean and easy to work on condition.

Power from the motor goes to a 9" Ford with a Detroit Speed and Engineering Locker Unit with 3.70 gears, and 31 spline Moser rear axles.

A CenterForce performance clutch pack gets engaged to shift the Muncie 4-speed through the gears with no issues via the HURST shifter.

A one piece custom balanced driveshaft going through the drive shaft loop twists the power to the back end without issue.

The car has poly bushings throughout, performance shocks, disc brakes up front, and front and rear sway bars that are all just a year or so old!

A racing fuel cell is also installed and vented with a high volume low feed fuel pump.

Box style control arms are up front, with Q-A-1 coil over shocks in the rear.

All of the fuel lines are aluminum on the car, and all of the brake lines have been safety coated.

The car rides on 15"x7" American Racing rims up front, with the matching 15"x14" units in the rear.

They are wrapped in 15"x33"x18.5" HOOSIER radials out back, and all of the tires have more than enough tread left for some spirited driving!

An OPTIMA battery gets everything started easily with a huge CCA rating.

The outside of the car is painted in Mazda Miata red and BMW black, and has an easily removeable vinyl YENKO sticker down the side to break things up.

It has a tinted polaroid windshield, which was only available in Florida cars and is extremely rare!

New bumpers a few years back still look great, and so does the majority of the other brightwork on the car. Front bumper is fit with the Aircraft Landing lights that look awesome on the car!

Halogen beam headlamps light the way with ease.

The interior of the car was redone not too long ago, and really shows wonderfully!

Red and white seats are clean, and show light normal wear, as do the side panels, door panels, kick panels, and rear deck panel.

Carpet is clean and damage free, and looks fantastic.

Headliner is solid and so is the visor, with both showing some light stains and marks that should detail out when you clean it.

Glass is all in really good shape, with the exception of the two vent windows. The driver vent is cracked, and show delamination, while the passenger just shows delamination.

Every window that is supposed to open does so easily.

The dash is clean, and has been signed by not only Chip Foose, but by the Beach Boys as well!

It is packed with an AutoMeter fuel gauge, and SunPro AMMETER/OIL/WATER gauges in a chrome underdash mount.

Glove box still opens and is functional as well.

It will come with the original gauge units as well. It will also come with the original heater unit for the car should you wish to install it again down the road.

Junkyard Gem: 2003 Chevrolet Tracker

Wed, May 22 2024

When General Motors created the Geo brand to sell vehicles designed and — in some cases — built by Japanese partners, the first four models were introduced for the 1989 model year: the Metro (Suzuki Cultus), Prizm (Toyota Sprinter), Spectrum (Isuzu Gemini) and Tracker (Suzuki Sidekick). Geo got the axe in 1997, with the Metro, Prizm and Tracker becoming Chevrolets. Of those, the Tracker survived the longest, with U.S.-market sales continuing into 2004. Here's an example of a very late Tracker, found in a North Carolina car graveyard recently. The 1989-1997 first-generation Trackers were based on the Suzuki Sidekick, while the 1998-2004 Trackers had the Suzuki Vitaras (not to be confused with the much grander Grand Vitaras) as their siblings. Production of these trucks for the South American market (as the Chevrolet Vitara) continued in Ecuador all the way through 2014. The Tracker name has also gone onto some versions of the Chevrolet Trax around the world. This one is a base four-door hard top/rear-wheel-drive model, which had an MSRP of $17,330. That's about $29,789 in 2024 dollars. You'll find one in every car. You'll see. The engine is a Suzuki 2.0-liter straight-four rated at 127 horsepower and 134 pound-feet. A five-speed manual was base equipment, but very few American vehicle shoppers wanted three pedals by the middle 2000s. This truck has the Aisin four-speed automatic. We like it loud. It appears that someone associated with this truck graduated from Julius L. Chambers High School last year. In the United States, the Tracker was replaced by the Saturn Vue. If Tracker can handle (unspecified Middle Eastern country), it can survive the jungle back home. Siempre contigo.

Porsche 911 tops a list of must-have classics, but No. 2 is more of a surprise

Wed, Aug 9 2023

No surprise here: In Europe, the Porsche 911 is the most sought-after classic car. Surprise here: Slip-streaming the 911 in the most sought-after chart compiled by the Car & Classic marketplace is the Ford Mustang. Using the Google search engine as a means to pick the winners, as well as the average prices achieved on the “Car and Classic” website, the venerable 911 was tagged 1.45 million times per month according to data stretching back 15 years. The number of 911Â’s sold though the C&C marketplace was 21,141, at an average price of 58,409 pounds, or $74,300. FordÂ’s pony car, still a popular choice for buyers in Europe, placed second on the list with 1.2 million monthly searches. The average sales price over 15 years was 31,107 pounds ($39,570), and the number of older Mustangs sold reached a total of 8,332. Models that also finished among the charted top 10 include the Land Rover Range Rover, the Corvette, the ultra-classic British favorite Jaguar E-Type and the BMW 3 Series. “Whilst a 1973 Porsche 911 Carrera 2.7 RS could set you back the best part of GBP500,000 ($636,000), there are many more affordable models, which bring the average sale price of a 911 on Car & Classic to GBP58,000 ($73,800) – the third highest average selling price of any make and model on the site,” explained Dale Vinten of Car & Classic. According to the site, the Jaguar fetched the highest average selling price: a whopping 89,000 pounds, or $113,000. But thatÂ’s peanuts compared to a Series 1 Roadster in excellent condition, said Vinten. For that, “you can expect to spend up to GBP250,000 ($318,000), A Series 2 or 3 will cost less, as they are not as desirable, but in decent condition you can expect to pay around GBP40,000-GBP50,000. Even a barn find 1969 E-Type Series 2 Roadster can set you back to the tune of GBP33,000 ($42,000)." Launched in 2005, Car & Classic is among EuropeÂ’s most popular classic car clearinghouses. It also runs a stand-alone auction site.
