Hi, up for sale is my rare 2 owner, garage find, California born 1966 Chevy Impala SS. As you can see by the pics this car is very clean in and out. Below I will try and describe exactly what I see and know about this great car.
Outside: The body is laser straight with no visible dents or dings anywhere. The paint was done a couple yrs ago, but still shows very well and has been kept in a garage ever since. All the stainless, glass, and chrome look to be the original but are still in very good to great condition. Theres all new emblems, taillights, outer door handles, outer license plate frames, and outside mirrors. I will be including the original metal fender skirts painted to match the car. Currently on the car is a practically new set of Michelin tires set on stock rims painted too match the car. All headlights, taillights, and turn signals work as they should.
Inside: The inside is very clean and in the original black. I was told it was redone the same time as when the paint was being redone. Theres no visible signs of wear and tear ( on top of backseat theres a few cracks but not to bad). I just replaced the inner door handles, inner glovebox, all new pedals, window cranks, ebrake handle, door sill plates, glove box emblem, floormats and rear package tray. All in all very nice inside. Steering wheel and all dash accessories are the original and still look very presentable. All electrical including dash lights, door lights, turn signals, heater, wipers, and horn work as they should.
Motor & transmission: the motor is a brand new crate 350 motor with maybe 1,000 miles on it(receipt available). Theres an electric fuel pump, HEI distributor, belts & hoses, battery, and heater hoses. This car comes with factory power steering and brakes that currently work as they should. Theres a few new parts that are installed in the engine compartment now that werent when the pics were taken. This motor is very strong and reliable . I wouldnt hesitate to drive this car anywhere. The transmission is a turbo 350 that shifts with no hesitation. The undercarriage of this car is completely stock except for the new exhaust system and front and rear brakes that help this car stop on a dime. Front suspension is new also with energy bushings and ball joints.
If your looking for a solid inside and out driver quality Chevy Impala ss then this is definitely the one for you. Im pricing this car too sell , not to hold onto it . All reasonable cash offers will be considered. Please call or text 408-712-9427 with offers or with any questions or concerns that you might have. I have no problem selling this car out of the country and can help provide shipping to the LA dock of your choice for a low rate. Thanks for looking.

GM executive chief EV engineer says reducing cost of plug-in vehicles is 'huge priority'

Mon, Mar 17 2014

As we know, another major automaker investing heavily in electrified vehicles is General Motors, and it's doing things much differently than rivals BMW, Ford or Nissan. The Chevrolet Volt extended-range EV is a modest seller at its $35,000 sticker price but a huge hit with owners. The Chevy Spark BEV, still in limited availability, puts smiley faces on its owners and drivers. The just-introduced Cadillac ELR, a sharp-looking, fun-driving $76,000 luxocoupe take on the Volt's EREV mechanicals, has admittedly low sales expectations. With this interesting trio in showrooms and much more in the works, the third vehicle electrification leader I collared for an interview at Detroit's North American International Auto Show (see #1 and #2) was Pam Fletcher, GM's executive chief engineer, Electrified Vehicles. ABG: Why do your EREVs need four-cylinder power to extend their range when BMW's i3 makes do with an optional 650 cc two-banger? "We designed [the Volt and the ELR] to go anywhere, any time" - Pam Fletcher PF: I get that question all the time: why not something smaller? You don't really need that much. You use the electric to its ability, then you just need to limp. But we designed those cars to go anywhere, any time, and we don't want their performance to be compromised. If you're driving through the mountains, we don't want you to be crawling up grades, or to be limited on any terrain. So it's optimized to be able to travel literally the biggest grades and mountain roads around the globe at posted speeds. Because what if you can't? Another good reason: when the engine is on, you have to run it wide open throttle, max speed, most of the time. And while we can do a lot with acoustics, and the ELR has active noise cancelation, a small-displacement, low cylinder-count engine at high speed, high load all the time isn't something you want to live with. That's how we came up with the balance we did among the key factors of performance, NVH [noise, vibration and harshness] and range. ABG: Where you go from here? Is the range-extender engine due for an update? PF: We know and love the current Volt, and there is still a lot of acclaim about it, so we think it's a good recipe. But we are heavily in the midst of engineering the next-generation car, which I think everyone will love and be excited about.

GM to restore legendary Corvette damaged in sinkhole accident

Fri, Dec 5 2014

Car lover's hearts' sank when they saw images of bent and destroyed classic Corvettes at the bottom of a sinkhole last February after the floor of the National Corvette Museum gave way. General Motors announced Wednesday it would restore the one millionth Corvette ever produced to its former glory. The 1992 convertible was heavily damaged when a 40-foot deep sinkhole opened beneath a bevy of rare cars at the National Corvette Museum in Bowling Green, Kentucky. Since then, GM has been slowly restoring the classic cars, though five of the eight that caught in the sinkhole were determined to be too damaged to repair. This November, the 2009 Corvette ZR1 Blue Devil was the first car to be returned in mint condition to the Museum, according to Autoblog. It suffered significant damage but was still drivable after being pulled out of the debris. The one millionth Corvette is still in bad shape. The automaker is estimating six months worth of work to restore the car, which sustained paint scratches, rear-suspension damage and a mangled front fender.
