2 TWO 1963 IMPALA SUPERSPORTS!!! I have 2, yes you read that right, 2 1963 Chevrolet Impala SS coupes. Both cars were factory 327 powerglides. Car 1 is a 1 owner complete 63 impalas ss in original cordovan brown and saddle interior, every piece of this car is there except the original 327, but i do have a new 350 that will go with the cars. It has the original Powerglide as well. The cordovan brown car does have rust in the front floor pans, but not to bad, and the trunk has some in the storage well. It does have a few small dents but nothing unusual for a 10 year old car much less this 51 year old car. It is factory power steering, power brakes, and padded dash. The original 63 buckets and full console are still in the car. The red colored 63 is also a factory ss car that was disassembled in 1982, and placed into dry storage, which explains why this car is a perfect body. This car has absolutely no rust, except for 2 small small small holes in the front 2 pans about the size of a quarter. The car is a perfect car to build another ss or whatever you desire. Remember you are getting (2) 1963 impala Super Sports, true supersport. I can send additional pictures i have of the cars since i was onlt allowed to post 12 on here, including both cars cowl tags you can check. The perfect body car is origianlly silverblue metalic with blue ss buckets console. I do not have the blue buckets or console for the red ss, but i do on the brown one. This car is factory air condition, power steering, power brakes, ss trim and padded dash I also have every piece of trim on the brown one, and 90% of the trime on the red one. I also have nos pieces for the car, nos knobs, window cranks, door handles, ss emblems, and more. I have all the following parts new in the box to go with these cars as well, stainless gas tank, and fuel lines, every prothane suspension bushing front to rear, prothane body mount bushings and hardware, new power disc brake booster with dual master cylinder, and new ventilated slotted disc rotors, calipers, stainless lines, and all stainless hardware. Both of these cars came off of the St louis Missouri line There is so much to list i know i probably forgot to list something. Meet Alex Archer, the engineer behind GM's power-sliding center console

Sat, Feb 15 2020

In 2009, a GM manager complained to a 59-year-old GM technician about the hassle of retrieving items from a pickup truck bed after driving shifted the cargo. In two days, the tech had come up with the ideas that, ten years later, would debut as the MultiPro tailgate. The engineering teams kept the tailgate secret in part by hiding mock-ups in a locked storage closet in GM's Vehicle Engineering Center in Warren Michigan for two years. A piece in the Detroit Free Press reveals that another storage closet in Warren would play the same role in a different cloak-and-dagger operation, this time for the power-sliding center console in GM's new full-sized SUVs. During a meeting in early 2017, bosses gave the job of the console's creation to 24-year-old design release engineer Alex Archer, just two years out of Stanford University with a degree in engineering and product design.  This time, the catalyst for the feature was an internal GM think tank called co:lab, where employees suggest ideas. Execs gave Archer the task because "They needed someone willing to ask a lot of questions," her 36-month mandate to produce a six-way console that could be a standard cubby or a gaping maw able to swallow four gallon jugs or hide a secret compartment. Clearly, she succeeded. It took Archer and the team nine months to devise a prototype, another six months to get the green light for production. As with the tailgate, the team working on the console grew to include designers, production engineers, and suppliers. Archer, now 26, shepherded the process, and her name is on the patent. "It took a ton of people, I'm just somebody who stuck with it the whole time," she said. GM like her work well enough to produce the "Day in the Life" segment above, five months before the world would hear about the console. Archer's path to engineering was as unlikely as getting the job for the console. She had entered Stanford with plans to be a doctor. But an innovation class during her freshman year, and a sophomore summer spent helping her grandfather rebuild a 1937 MG engine recharted her course. Her grandfather told her, "You know, you could be an engineer for a car company." Consumer reaction to Archer's work won't be far off, the SUVs slated to hit dealerships soon. Meanwhile, she's busy on something that could be just as intense as the console: Restoring a 1955 Packard Clipper in her garage. Head to Freep to check out the story of Archer and the console. Car and Driver reveals spy shots of mid-engine 2017 Corvette

Thu, Jan 8 2015

Some news in the car world is perennial, and some is perennially wrong. Typically news about some upcoming mid-engined Chevy Corvette has fallen into the latter category, with rumors never yet generating a road car. This time could very well be different. Car and Driver has some exclusive photographs of what would appear to be a Corvette test mule with a mid-mounted engine. The car in question might look like a Holden SSV ute that's undergone some indelicate modification, but C/D editor Don Sherman assures that the bones of a C8 'Vette live within that crude bodywork. Sherman points to the closeness of the cabin to the front axle as clue number one of this car's mid-engine attitude, as well as the powertrain-sized space between the back of the seats and the rear axle. The roof and glasshouse are all clearly plucked from the current C7, and the gas tank filler positioned on the B-pillar is another huge clue. The buff book estimates that the mule points to a timeline for sale, even. Testing on this level could mean a mid-engined C8 ready for sale in as few as 20 months, or for the 2017 model year. Click over to Car and Driver to have a close look at this important set of spy photographs, as well as a rendering of what a finished C8 might ultimately look like
