2001 Chevy Exp1500 Rocky Ridge Conversion Van. Forest Green with Medium Gray interior. 42,000 miles, 5.7L V8, 15/18 MPG, raised roof. Vehicle has had two owners--family friends, and then our family. Seats 7 comfortably, very good condition, very spacious interior, excellent for families and road trips. Converted by Rocky Ridge conversions.
Custom Features include: Power Conversion Sofa (queen bed to 3-seat-bench), surround mood lighting, overhead storage compartments, hi-grade accordion window shades (hidden or extended), TV & Video System, Video Gaming System, two separate CD systems (front and rear). Other Features include: Cruise Control, Tilt Steering, AM/FM - CD & Cassette, Rear CD System, Front & Rear A/C, Power Locks, Power Windows, Power Mirrors, Power Seats, Driver Multi-Adjustable Power Seat, Driver/Passenger Airbags, Keyless Entry, Child Safety Locks. Huge rear cargo/luggage area, Running Boards, Medium Gray Cloth Seats. 4-wheel ABS, 4-speed automatic RWD. Wear and Tear: Exterior, minor scratches, as expected for 2001 vehicle. Roof is beginning to oxidize/peel, but is not very visible from the ground. (Meanwhile the interior is in excellent shape.) Rear exterior doors have some minor dings. Helpful Info: Family Friends were original owners--they purchased the van brand new in Virginia at the cost of $49,999. This van sat mostly unused for a few years. It needed some TLC when we brought it back on the road. We have documentation for the following professional improvements this past year: New Front Brakes & Rotors at 39,000 miles. New Spider Fuel Injection system (for inspection) at 41,000 miles. New Solenoid (for inspection) at 41,000 miles. Smoke-free and pet-free since day one. We'd love to keep this van, especially for family trips... Nothing at all wrong with it, but we're trying to simplify our living and scale back to two family vehicles. If you think it's a fit for you, perhaps your family can enjoy it! |

This 450-hp electric Lotus Evora is powered by Tesla and Chevrolet
Tue, May 9 2017When someone mentions an electric Lotus, the first thing that comes to mind is the Tesla Roadster, the California-based automaker's first vehicle. That car started life as an Elise before being heavily massaged and adapted by Tesla's engineers. In a similar spirit, the people at Onpoint Dyno are close to finishing Blue Lightning, a track-ready all-electric Lotus Evora. Blue Lightning uses a Tesla drive unit and a Chevrolet Volt battery pack, both mounted in the middle in place of the Evora's 3.5-liter Toyota V6. It's putting down about 450 horsepower at the wheels. The car was built for time attack sessions, so power is fed through custom forged wheels and super sticky Pirelli PZero Trofeo R tires, the same ones found on the last Chevrolet Camaro Z/28. There is a custom digital instrument cluster in place of the Lotus gauges. There's also a regen paddle on the left side of the steering wheel. With a full charge, Blue Lighting should go about 120 miles. While the car runs under its own power, it's only about 90 percent complete. It has no power steering, no firewall in between the seats and the motor and battery pack, no A/C, and a large hole where the shift lever used to be. Other final touches include fine-tuning the brakes and suspension. There is also a custom rear bumper coming that should make it look more like the new Lotus Evora 400. Onpoint Dyno expects the car to hit the track in the next month or so. Related Video:
Looking back at the Citation IV concept that likely shaped the GM EV1
Wed, Aug 20 2014Those who forget history are condemned to repeat it. We're not sure how that applies to the GM EV1, but we'd still like to share something from Autoline Daily, an online automotive new show with our friend John McElroy. He's been covering the business for decades now and recently found something interesting: pictures of the 1984 Chevrolet Citation IV concept, seen above. Displayed half a decade before the first electric concept that would become the EV1 (inset), McElroy says it's now clear that the elegant, aerodynamic EV1 took a lot of styling cues from the Citation IV, which was developed in part thanks to GM's new-at-the-time Aerodynamics Laboratory. We agree with him that the spats over the rear wheels, the flush glass, and the covered headlights all bear a certain kind of similarity between the two cars. That the colors almost match is a nice coincidence. The Impact (the concept version of the EV1) looked "frumpier," McElroy says, because it wasn't as long as the Citation. You can read a lot more about the Citation IV here and check out McElroy's thoughts in the video below. Find the Citation starting at around 3:45. This content is hosted by a third party. GM files for Z71 Trail Boss trademark
Mon, Jan 26 2015Try as they might to keep their plans a secret, automakers have their hands tipped through a variety of methods – be they through loose lips, spy shots or patent and trademark applications. That's how we know, in this instance, that General Motors is working on (or at least considering) an off-road machine wearing the name Z71 Trail Boss – the name which our compatriots at AutoGuide.com tell us that GM has registered for use on light-duty trucks. Now if that alphanumeric designator sounds familiar, it should. GM has long used it to designate the off-road packages on many of its body-on-frame trucks from Chevy and GMC. These days you can order a Z71 package on the Chevy Colorado, Silverado, Tahoe and Suburban and on the GMC Canyon, Sierra and Yukon. The package typically includes components like a beefed-up suspension bits, high-capacity air cleaner and underbody protection plates. The Trail Boss designator would seem to suggest something further reaching than a suspension package, though. Just what it would entail we don't know; minds immediately start running toward Chevy or GMC going after the Ford F-150 Raptor, but we'll likely be looking at something closer to the Trailhawk packages Jeep offers on the likes of the Renegade and Cherokee.
