Super Clean 1998 Glaval Hi Top van. Low 45,800 miles. A one owner van that was purchased new at Parsons Chevrolet in Farmington Ct. Garaged since new/stored in the winters. Never towed anything. Paint is amazing and unlike most hi top vans, the top is shiny and in fantastic condition. When it wasn't used, it was inside. The leather is soft and supple. The engine runs smooth as glass. New brakes @33K miles. New tires at 40K miles. I have all service records up until 33K miles when Parsons Chevrolet closed. I would not hesitate to drive this van across the country. There are only a few minor things that would make this van perfect. The power sofa bed does not move,it makes noise like it wants to, maybe some grease???, There is a button cap that popped off the 3rd row seat(I have it). The REAR fan blows air on left side (maybe tube came off?) The A/C makes a ticking noise when on and always has, dealer said its normal. A/C blows ice cold. This van is 100% rust free, underside extremely clean. Remember that this van is 15 years old, it is not perfect but is unusually clean. Any question, please ask prior to bidding. Any inspections or test drives are more than welcome.
Also, this is a 5.0 liter V-8, it is not the 5.7. The 5.0 gets better gas mileage.

These cars are headed to the Great Crusher In The Sky
Fri, 24 Aug 2012It happens every year. We bid adieu to some cars and trucks that will be missed, and say good riddance to others wondering how they stayed around so long. Whether they're being killed off for slow sales or due to a new product coming along to replace them, the list of vehicles being discontinued after 2012 is surprisingly long and diverse.
CNN Money has compiled a list of departing vehicles, to which we've added a few more of our own. In the slow sales column, cars like the Lexus HS 250h, Mercedes-Benz R-Class and the full Maybach lineup appear, while the Ford Escape Hybrid, Mazda CX-7 and Hyundai Veracruz are all having their gaps filled with more modern and more fuel-efficient alternatives. Obvious exceptions to the rule include models that still sell in decent numbers like the Jeep Liberty and the Chrysler Town & Country (which will eventually be replaced by a crossover-like vehicle).
Check out our gallery of discontinued cars above, then scroll down for more information.
Personal testimonies show real-world effect of plugging in with Chevy Volt
Mon, Jan 13 2014At this point, there are tens of thousands of individual stories about what it's like to live with a Chevrolet Volt. But it also remains informative to take a look at one of these in depth. For example, one Atlanta-area Volt owner says he's cut his cents-per-mile ownership costs by almost 40 percent compared to his previous car primarily because of his ability to drive almost all the time on electric power. Jeffrey Cohen told Clean Technica that he put about 14,000 miles on his Volt extended-range plug-in hybrid for the year that ended October 2013, and that more than 92 percent of those were on electrons. He estimates his "lifetime" miles per gallon rating at a whopping 384 mpg, a figure pushed upward by the fact that he installed a Level 2 charger at home while his employer added an external 110-volt charger at work. Cohen is spending 45 cents a mile for his car, compared to 73 cents in his Infiniti M35. As a result, he's spending 45 cents a mile for his car, compared to 73 cents a mile with his prior vehicle, an Infiniti M35. About two-thirds of those Volt costs are for the $349-a-month lease payments, while 15 percent is insurance, 11 percent is for the charger and seven percent for the gas and electricity that actually powers the car. Helping lower that last figure is an overnight electricity rate that's about 10 percent of Cohen's daytime rate. Chevy parent General Motors hopes such testimonies will re-trigger sales for the Volt in 2014. Last year, GM sold 23,094 Volts, down 1.6 percent from 2012. We expect our readers have similar stories they'd like to share in the Comments.
