2001 Chevrolet Express Extended Raised Roof Handicap-mobility Van Low Miles on 2040-cars

US $9,500.00
Year:2001 Mileage:61165
Location:

Fort Wayne, Indiana, United States

Fort Wayne, Indiana, United States

This is a one-owner 2001 Chevrolet Express Extended Van that was leased by a municipality  thru "Wheels Inc." a national leasing company. It has had excellent preventative maintenance since it was used by the government to transport passengers, all brakes, tires etc. have to be inspected regularly. It has low miles of only 61,165 or approximately 5,000 mile a year! The van has been modified with a fiberglass raised roof and Ricon 800 lb. capacity wheelchair lift.  The lift still seems to be in great working condition and has the proper tie-down straps for the wheelchair. There is one three passenger seat in van behind the front seats.  Most vans of this type we find have well over 100K miles, sometimes over 200K, it is getting harder to find the low mileage vans.  This would also work well for freight expediting with the raised roof and extended one ton chasis. The wheelchair lift could be removed and sold seperately. Replacement cost on a van like this would run over $50,000.00. It has the proven 5.7 (350) engine, Automatic Transmission, Front and Rear Air Conditioning, Tilt Wheel and Cruise Control. There are some cosmetic flaws on the vehicle, but overall in nice condition. This van could be used privately or commercially. There is a lot of life left in this van, bid to buy! Even though our disclaimer says AS-IS we can now offer this van with a 3-Month/4500 mile Running Gear Warranty through "Cars Protection Plus" that is valid coast to coast with a $100.00 deductable, at no additional cost to you.

2014 Chevrolet Silverado and GMC Sierra show all their sides in Detroit

Tue, 15 Jan 2013

There could hardly be more riding on the next-generation General Motors full-size pickup trucks, so the automaker has wisely made sure to have a selection of different models on hand at the Detroit Auto Show to show off. The 2014 Chevrolet Silverado and 2014 GMC Sierra were both officially introduced last month at a stand-alone reveal, and now they'll be on display for the public to see in various body configurations and trim levels.
The Silverado LTZ Crew Cab and Sierra SLE Extended Cab are aimed at providing more of a high-end pickup experience, while the Silverado LT Z71 Extended Cab and Sierra SLT Z71 Crew Cab should have off-road fans scouting out their favorite trails. The crew cab trucks won't go into production until sometime during the second quarter of this year - with other bodystyles coming later in the year - but we have plenty of live images from Detroit for you to enjoy.

MotorWeek looks back at 1995 Chevy Tahoe, GMC Yukon

Sat, Jun 20 2015

MotorWeek's Retro Review series gives us a nostalgic look back at some of the best sports cars and luxury sedans available in the 1980s and '90s. For its latest clip, the show shifts gears to remember the 1995 Chevrolet Tahoe and GMC Yukon. Similar to the success of crossovers today, SUVs were tallying big sales and making big money for automakers in the mid-'90s. The Tahoe and Yukon filled slots in the market as steps down from the larger Suburban. These twins weren't wanting for space, though, with plenty of room to haul around a family. MotorWeek came away generally impressed too, and called the models some "of the better riding sport utilities we've ever experienced." This review comes with some jazzy, electric guitar licks to enjoy in the background.

Recharge Wrap-up: Panasonic, Tesla on Gigafactory deal?

Bentley has been awarded the Carbon Trust Standard for reductions of carbon, water use and waste production in manufacturing. The Carbon Trust is an organization that helps groups such as businesses and governments reduce carbon emissions, use of energy and resources, and waste output. From 2011 to 2013, Bentley reduced CO2 emissions by 16 percent per car manufactured, curtailed water use by 35.7 percent, and saw significant waste reductions. Darran Messem of Carbon trust says, "Bentley is clearly passionate about continuing to improve its environmental performance, which is reflected by the fact the company has consistently invested in new technology." Read more in the press release below. Chevrolet is giving 12 Volts to MBAs Across America. The organization will use the range-extended electric cars in its efforts to help MBA students learn from and work with small business owners. As part of the MBAs Across America program's first year, four students drove 8,000 miles to provide entrepreneurs with free business counseling. The program has expanded, and this year, teams of MBAs will use the Volts to travel to 25 cities to offer their services. Learn more about the partnership between Chevrolet and MBAs Across America in the press release below. A professor from the University of Michigan has found fuel cycle analysis to be too flawed to be relied upon for measuring CO2 impacts of transportation fuels. Professor John DeCicco of the university's Energy Institute feels that the flaws in calculating the carbon footprint of liquid fuel production and combustion make such lifecycle analysis impractical. He suggests, instead, to focus to carbon capture. Since capturing CO2 directly from a vehicle is probably never going to happen, DiCicco believes the solution is to capture carbon from the atmosphere in sectors outside of transportation. Says DiCicco, "Research should be ramped up on options for increasing the rate at which CO2 is removed from the atmosphere and on programs to manage and utilize carbon fixed in the biosphere, which offers the best CO2 removal mechanism now at hand. Such strategies can complement measures that control the demand for liquid fuels by reducing travel activity, improving vehicle efficiency and shifting to non-carbon fuels." Read more at Green Car Congress. Global transportation energy consumption is expected to increase by 25.4 percent by 2035, according to a report by Navigant Research.
