Great El Camino Base Standard Cab Pickup – Chevy 2 Door 140,000 actual miles located in High Springs, Florida - 32643.

Today I have a really great deal for you!  Of course you want to know as much as possible in making a decision on this vehicle.

My son needed dependable transportation for his college years in December 2010.  Without a lot of cash – due to college tuition, but still wanting to have some cool factor on campus -- he asked me to help him locate a Chevy El Camino.  We are the 4th owners.  You can be the 5th.

Due to a local couple divorce, the husband's toy a 1986 El Camino – V8 305 engine – was required to be sold to divide the couple’s assets.  It was a local car - Mid-west in great original shape with few owners.  It had 112,000 original miles at the time – at an excellent price for us then and that savings is being transferred to you now.  Vin #: 3GCCW80H8GS914726  never has been in an accident.  A great looking CAR – a great looking PICKUP TRUCK – the best of both a car-truck … CRUCK – some call these an Elky! Great Burgundy original paint for 28-years old – absolutely no body repairs, no rust except for one small spot - minor surface rust from rock chips back rear tire - passenger side. Interior Burgundy cloth, Front Disc Brakes – Rear Wheel Drive.  See the images.

SALE INCLUDES a good SLIM STYLE - CUSTOM TOPPER Image #23  is of a similar topper - a $400 value.  Let me know if you want a photo of the existing topper - it is in storage -  fits like a glove.   Also, has a removable rubber bed mat.

Ready to just drive or fix up and show. Mileage is now 140,000.

ORIGINAL 305 V8 - RUNS AND SHIFTS GREAT.  A lightly used car - not driven in winter - no rust - a solid good driving car.

No issues with under-carriage, no leaks, no problems.  AIR CONDITIONER WORKS NEEDS TO BE RECHARGED. 4 Speed Automatic transmission.  For more information you can go to this El Camino website.

Your standard 1986 El Camino - https://www.gmheritagecenter.com/docs/gm-heritage-archive/vehicle-information-kits/El-Camino/1986-Chevrolet-El-Camino.pdf

The car has been a great investment, and we have done all needed maintenance.  Just in the last two-years we have installed a new transmission -- which has one more year remaining on its three-year warranty.  Complete set of 4 new tires. Packed the bearing in the hubs, and in June 2014 the engine had a complete change of all fluids and replacement of hoses and belts – lights, and everything checked and repaired.  The repair bills will be given with the title – in all over $3,000.  In July the car was driven non-stop from Missouri to Florida – with not a bit of trouble – it is reliable.  You can buy it - pick it up and drive it home – wherever that might be in the USA.

So… you have to now be wondering – SO WHAT GIVES?? Why sell a car that has everything updated, is paid for and would be great drive for years? WHY????

Here’s why…

My son worked hard while in school to pay for his education and graduated with his degree in Science in May 2014.  He found a job and moved to High Springs, Florida – that is why the car is now there.

As a reward for completing his degree, his mom and I offered him a brand new car for his graduation gift and to get a start in life.  He did not want a NEW car – he wanted a MINT classic one – a convertible, with style, that would be perfect for Florida.

He has parked the El Camino and now drives a low mileage - mint 1970 Cutlass Supreme Convertible a real classic - purchased from the National Muscle Car Dealer – it was the dealer’s personal car for his lake home.  You might have seen it for sale last month on eBay.  Trust me jaws drop when that car drives past – I know – I picked it up in Chicago and drove it to him in Florida.

FYI - THE LAST IMAGE IS OF MY SON'S NEW 1970 CUTLASS SUPREME - NOT FOR SALE  - INFORMATIONAL PURPOSES ONLY

He doesn't need two cars, so someone out there can have this ready to go El Camino. The funds from the sale will go to needed corrective eye surgery for my son.

Do you have a kid in high school or college that needs a good car?  Do you need a dependable pick-up truck? Get this CRUCK – ELKY now.  I doubt it will last long on eBay!

I have a 100% customer satisfaction in my eBay Buyer reviews.  I want you to be Happy too! You can contact me on my cell:  660.988.8064

The auction winner will need $500.00 down PayPal and balance PAYMENT TO BE MADE BY BANK TO BANK TRANSFER WITHIN 7 DAYS, I WILL FED EX TITLE NEXT DAY AFTER PAYMENT IS CLEARED, CLEAR TRANSFERRABLE MISSOURI TITLE IN MY NAME.

BUYER IS RESPONSIBLE FOR SHIPPING WHICH MY SON AND I CAN HELP WITH, CAR IS SOLD AS IS, WHERE IS. I HAVE TRIED TO REPRESENT THIS CAR AS ACCURATELY AS I CAN. PHOTOS COUNT AS PART OF THE DESCRIPTION.

About the engine

The 305 V8, or 5.0-liter, engine was used in many 1986 model Chevrolet cars. It powered the El Camino, Caprice, Impala, Malibu, and the Monte Carlo. It was used in 1986 model Chevy and GMC Trucks, SUVs and vans. Its most popular application was in the Camaro, including the Z28 and the IROC-Z.

Its stock cylinder heads featured an efficient cross-port flow design. It had a durable forged steel crankshaft and connecting rods. Its wedge-head combustion chambers facilitated cylinder pressure and lowered its octane requirements.

Chevy Trax engineer says GMC version possible

Mon, Dec 8 2014

The Buick Encore is doing so well and its platform-mate the Chevrolet Trax has such good reviewer vibes going for it already, that a GMC version hasn't been ruled out. During the recent press launch, Automotive News asked lead engineer Al Manzor if the Trax could wear a GMC-branded suit, to which Manzor replied, "I think that is certainly possible." That's a long way from telling us anything about the probability of a GMC version of the Trax, and a legion of questions would need to be answered before it could happen. How would a GMC version be priced to leave room for the $26,465 GMC Terrain but not eat into sales of the $20,995 Trax or the $24,035 Encore? Or would that matter? Could it primarily be considered to encourage a new faction of The Yukon Set at the compact end, GMC buyers being famously committed to the marque? And of course, would there be a Denali version? It'll probably be a long while before we have any kind of answers, but if you want to see it happen, the door to your campaign of persuasion is at least ajar.

Steve McQueen's last movie car, now Pawn Stars-owned, up for auction [w/video]

Sun, 03 Feb 2013

The last car Steve McQueen ever drove in a movie is officially up for auction. The 1951 Chevrolet Styline DeLuxe Convertible you see above is now owned by none other than Rick Harrison of Pawn Stars fame, but once ferried McQueen around the set of his last film, 1980's The Hunter. That flick saw the Bullit star play a bumbling bounty hunter and didn't exactly set the box office on fire. McQueen bought the car after production wrapped, and four years later it sold at his estate sale at the Imperial Palace in Las Vegas.
Flash forward to 2003, and the convertible received a full restoration back to near-stock specifications. Hagerty Insurance estimates the car to be worth around $45,000 without the significant providence. Given its ties to one of film's most popular gearheads, the old Chevrolet could fetch up to 10 times that when it goes under the gavel in Ft Luaderdale, Florida on March 22. You can head over to the Auctions America site for more information. You can also check out the trailer for The Hunter below.

Recharge Wrap-up: Renault Zoe recall, Proterra buses log 2M miles

Fri, Mar 25 2016

Renault is recalling 10,649 examples of its Zoe electric car for potential brake hose failure. Cars built at the company's Flins factory between the Zoe's 2012 introduction and October 6, 2014 - a quarter of all Zoes ever built - are subject to the recall, though no accidents have been reported from rupturing brake lines. Recalled vehicles will have the brake hose positions inspected and, if need be, fixed. Read more from Reuters. Proposed legislation in Massachusetts would make the state even more EV friendly. While the state already encourages EV adoption with a $2,500 rebate incentive, the new bill would give battery electric vehicle drivers HOV lane access. Additionally it would set up a standard building code for EV chargers, and allow EV-only parking spaces. "With decreased gas prices, a 10 percent increase in vehicle miles traveled over the last 20 years, and a carpool rate below the national average, we must address personal vehicle use directly as part of our transportation emissions reduction strategy," says Rep. Frank Smizik. Read more from Teslarati. The New York Daily News has named the 2016 Chevrolet Volt as its "Green Machine of the Year." Seamless operation, peppiness, and a nice suite of equipment make it a top choice for the publication. "The 2016 Chevrolet Volt is all new, inside and out, and takes the plug-in hybrid segment to another level, thanks to its increased EV range, updated cabin, and more efficient gas-powered engine," writes Daily News Autos writer (and all-around good guy) Nick Kurczewski. Honorable mentions go to the Tesla Model S, BMW i3, Toyota Prius, and the hydrogen-powered Toyota Mirai. Read more from the Daily News, or at Clean Technica. Proterra electric buses have accumulated 2 million miles of revenue service. That equals 3,800 tons of carbon emissions that have been prevented and 420,000 gallons of fuel unburned. Proterra says it has 63 buses in service in 15 cities, and that it is ramping up production to meet growing demand. "This latest milestone exemplifies the economic, environmental and civic value of electric mass transit," says Proterra CEO Ryan Popple, "and demonstrates to the transit agencies that diesel - often viewed as a necessary evil - is no longer necessary."
