El Camino Ss, 1983 Resto-mod on 2040-cars
Akron, Ohio, United States
THIS
IS THE ONE YOU HAVE BEEN LOOKING FOR!!! 1983 El Camino SS. This is custom
Resto-Mod and freshly completed. This vehicle is a factory SS, and is one of
only 4,714 produced in 1983. This car is professional refurbished and is rust
free. It has a steel Goodmark 2" cowl hood and fiberglass tuck bumpers
both front and rear. The engine was replaced with a 350 CID from a 1984
Corvette. The Corvette's crossfire fuel injection was replaced and the engine
is now feed with a Holley 670 Street Avenger, Edelbrock Intake, and Vortec
heads. The driveline is transfered through a 700R4 built by Gearstar, coupled to a
3.73 posi from a 1987 Monte Carlo SS. The exhaust is channeled through Hedman
headers and a 3" Mandrel bent "X" pipe system that exits in the
factory location behind the rear tires. The custom paint showcases the G Force
Performance logo, and is accented with matched striping. All logos and striping
is painted. (No decals.) The suspension is managed thru Polygraphite bushings,
and KYB Gas Shocks. It rolls on 17" American Racing wheels and 235/45ZR17
Sumitomo tires. Braking is quickly managed with 4 wheel disc brakes, feed
through all new stainless steel brake lines. The interior is completely
refinished and incorporates a comfortable 60/40 split bench, factory gages,
tilt steering wheel, and a Lokar shifter. This vehicle is reliable, quick,
responsive, and a blast to drive. The only known item that needs to be
completed is the factory air conditioning. All the components are present and
connected, but it has never been charged with freon since it was completed. To
my knowledge it would only need new connection seals and properly charged.
Email with questions. This vehicle is located in Akron, Ohio, USA. All
shipping and transportation cost are the responsibility of the buyer, but I
will assist where I can.

Fri, May 3 2019In this week's Autoblog Podcast, Editor-in-Chief Greg Migliore is joined by Road Test Editor Reese Counts and Associate Editor Joel Stocksdale. First, they talk about the newly refreshed Chevy Camaro SS. Then they dish on the cars they've been driving, including the Lexus UX, Lexus GS F and Volvo V90, as well as riding in the new Mercedes-Benz GLS. After that, they ask the question, how many AMG cars is too many? Finally they turn to car buying, and suggest potential vehicles for a shopper on Reddit for the "Spend My Money" segment. Sunday Drive: Spying an automotive future of performance
Sun, May 13 2018I spy, with my little eye ... the future of the automotive world here in the United States. That pretty much sums up this week's Sunday Drive, in which we pull out the most popular stories on Autoblog of the previous week and try to draw some sort of conclusion as to what binds them all together. This week, it's spy shots, starting with one of the biggest and baddest muscle cars the world has ever seen: the Dodge Challenger Hellcat. The Hellish coupe gets a new hood for 2019 with dual scoops, but that's about the only meaningful change for the new model year. No matter. As long as it's packing 700-plus horsepower under those two hood scoops, all will be right with the world. Moving on, we take keep the performance angle but move it from the street to the dirt with a new version of the Chevy Colorado ZR2 that we think is probably called the Bison. We think it'll keep the high-tech suspension bits of the regular ZR2, but add expedition gear that may include a snorkel and a winch. Which, if true, is pretty dang cool. Keeping the truck theme is the 2019 GMC Sierra. There's nothing particularly noteworthy about the trim level in which the truck was spied, and that's what makes this specific example interesting. Base-model trucks almost never get much attention, but they sell in droves to workers who need an honest-to-goodness truck for work or play and don't care about bells, whistles, or massive chrome badges. And finally we have the 2018 Jeep Wrangler, which is on fire on the sales floor right now. But those are all V6-powered Wranglers flying off the showroom floor. Soon, a turbocharged four-cylinder engine option will become available, and now we know that it will return up to 23 miles per gallon in the city and 25 on the highway. That makes it the most fuel efficient Wrangler that Jeep has ever sold. As always, stay tuned to Autoblog this week for all the automotive news that's fit to publish. 2019 Dodge Challenger Hellcat with twin-scoop hood spied with no camouflage Chevy Colorado ZR2 Bison caught testing 2019 GMC Sierra 1500 spied in base trim level 2018 Jeep Wrangler four-cylinder fuel economy revealed Spy Photos Chevrolet Dodge GMC Jeep Truck Coupe SUV Off-Road Vehicles Performance dodge challenger srt hellcat sunday drive
Chevrolet donates 300 vehicles damaged by Sandy to help train first responders
Thu, 28 Feb 2013Super Storm Sandy took out a lot of automobiles in its path of destruction through the Northeast last October. The number surpassed 250,000 at last count, and a few of those were owned by Chevrolet - cars either sitting on dealership lots or waiting at port to be shipped off. Rendered unsellable by the water damage inflicted by Sandy, these vehicles were facing the crusher. But Chevy didn't send them there.
Instead, Chevy had a better idea: It will be donating 300 of these vehicles damaged by Sandy to help train first responders at Guardian Centers in Perry, GA. Chevy is the official automotive partner of Guardian Centers, which is an 830-acre facility that trains first responders in disaster preparedness. Junked cars are practically a consumable commodity there, where a full-size cityscape simulator gives trainees an entire urban center in which to train for all sorts of rescue operations and disaster scenarios.
Chevy says its particular vehicles will be used "in conjunction with role players for wide area searches, traffic congestion in emergency situations, counter terrorism, public order and mass casualty exercises." While grim scenarios all, we're certainly glad there are people out there preparing for the unexpected. While a zombie apocalypse isn't officially on the list of potential disasters to prepare for, when the virus hits, we'll be hot-footing it to Perry, GA to hang with these guys and gals.
