This 81 El Camino is a real show winner. I have a garage full of trophies it has won. I have owned this car for the last 6 years and during that time, it has been used only for car shows and parades. This car has not been a daily driver although it could be. It is always garage kept. It has not been smoked in. It has a 305 c.i. motor with headers and a 350 auto transmission. Everything under the hood has been chromed. The radiator cap and some of the bolts under the hood have chevy bowties. The bed is a beautiful wood with chrome strips. It has a ground effects kit all around. There are red neon lights under the body and red LED lights under the hood. It has air shocks on the rear. The interior has recently been redone in red and black and the chevy bowtie has been sewn into the headrest with the year (81) in the center. It has a AM/FM/CD radio and air conditioning. The wheels are 20" Pasati's and the tires have less than four thousand miles. This car is in great shape and runs and drives really good. I have tried to list everything but I will be glad to answer any questions you may have. This car is for sale locally so I reserve the right to end this auction at any time. Chevy SS to get 1LE-like handling pack
Tue, Feb 17 2015Chevrolet engineers have more plans for the SS, but official approval stands between their wishes and our driving commands. After getting the no-cost option for a six-speed manual last year, Motor Trend reports that some company boffins want to throw the Camaro's track-focused 1LE package at it. On the Camaro that means the Performance Ride and Handling suspension, front and rear stabilizer bars, and 20-inch wheels all around concerning the road-focused bits. MT says that a 1LE on the SS would shed the staggered tires for one size all around, and get new dampers and a new suspension tune. It wouldn't turn the SS into a Dodge Charger SRT Hellcat, but the SS could do even more with its 415 horsepower and 415 pound-feet, hopefully without sacrificing too much of its plush road comfort in the process. It's said that a production example could be done in less than six months, but it sounds like the approval process will take longer.
