1973 Chevrolet El Camino Estate Sale Very Original And Low Mileage on 2040-cars

For sale here is a very original 1973 Chevrolet El Camino that I purchased from an estate of an elderly couple. The vehicle is black with a tan interior. The car was repainted at some time in the past. The original color was a light metallic green (yuk). The paint job looks great as you can see in the pictures, however I would call it a decent "10 foot" paint job. It was done with pretty good care and all the edges, jambs, etc were painted black. The interior is clean and the seat was recovered in tan cloth at some point in the past. The rest of the interior is taupe, which is very dark green, almost black. The dash is cracked. The radio is an AM/FM cassette, but it is currently not working. The light come on, but no sound. I haven't fiddled with it yet.
The tonneau cover is in place, but it has some holes in it. It should be replaced. The wheels are aftermarket from the 1970's and look very good. The radial tires look almost new with plenty of tread. I'm not sure, but I think the old couple bought the vehicle new. The mileage shows 59,707 and I would suspect there is a good chance that that is the original mileage, but I will not warranty that, because the documentation is not complete. The spare tire (G78-14/ 4 Ply Polyester) appears to be the original and has been "lightly down" mounted on a steel wheel. The motor starts right up and idles smoothly with no smoke. Interesting to note is the fact that the entire air pump system is still in place and operating. The car run, drives, shifts very well. It really is fun to drive and attracts lots of attention. I'm selling it as is, before I get hooked on it. I have way too many cars, but I couldn't pass up this beauty. The vehicle is offered as is, where is, with no warranties expressed or implied. Motor Trend reveals 2016 Chevy Camaro as Car of the Year
Tue, Nov 17 2015The 2016 Chevrolet Camaro beat some very steep competition to earn the Golden Calipers as Motor Trend's Car of the Year. The magazine praised the sixth generation's fantastic engines, great handling, and lighter platform. "Our 2016 Car of the Year, the Chevrolet Camaro, is one of the finest driving vehicles in the world at any price," editor-in-chief Edward Loh said, "though its price is well within reach of the average consumer." The Camaro conquered some high-performance challengers to take the victory, including the Audi TT, Mazda MX-5 Miata, and Mercedes AMG GT S. It also bested technologically cutting-edge vehicles like the BMW 7 Series and Toyota Mirai. The latest Honda Civic rounded out the competition. To earn the prestigious award, nine judges evaluated the finalists in six categories: advancement in design, engineering excellence, safety, efficiency, value, and performance of intended function. The Volkswagen Golf won last year. In an engaging story on Motor Trend's website, it explains what a revelation the new coupe is and that they consider the model the best production pony car ever. The piece is well worth a read. Motor Trend also handed out the Person of the Year honor to Subaru of America President and Chief Operating Officer Thomas Doll. It praised him for the Japanese brand's massive success in the US like tripling deliveries since 2007. "By any measure, the business Tom Doll leads is an outstanding success," editor-at-large Angus MacKenzie said. "And he is the person whose unique vision and quiet leadership made it happen." 2014 Chevrolet Corvette Stingray priced from $51,995*
Fri, 26 Apr 2013After months of speculation, Chevrolet has finally revealed the official starting price of the 2014 Corvette Stingray. The base MSRP for the 450-horsepower Stingray Coupe will be $51,995, while the Stingray Convertible will go for $56,995 (*both prices include a $995 destination fee). This means that the price increase from 2013 to 2014 is just $1,400 for the coupe and $2,395 for the convertible - pretty modest increases considering the upgrade in specifications. Of course, neither price accounts for the sort of dealer markup that might grace early C7 window stickers, especially since less than a third of all Chevrolet dealers will be allocated Corvette models to sell at the car's launch.
Now, these prices are for the base car, so if you're wondering how much a fully loaded Stingray will run, Chevy has given us a good indication of that as well. The coupe we saw on display at the Detroit Auto Show (shown above), for example, would run $73,360 including options such as the $2,800 Z51 Performance Package, $2,495 competition sport seats and the $1,795 Magnetic Ride Control option - just to name a few. Stepping up to the 3LT trim level that brings a full leather interior will run an extra $8,005 over the base price.
While $20,000 in options may seem like a lot, this "as-tested" price still has the C7 competitively priced against rival coupes like the Porsche 911 and Nissan GT-R. Speaking of price comparisons, Chevrolet also points out that the C7 Stingray Z51 costs $2,200 less than the C6 Grand Sport while delivering better acceleration (0-60 mph in less than four seconds) and improved track performance (including more than 1 g in cornering).
GM sweetens military discount for Buick, Chevy and GMC
Sun, 06 Oct 2013American servicemen and women interested in a new vehicle from Chevrolet, Buick or GMC now have a bit more incentive to head down to their local dealer, as General Motors has announced plans to improve its military discount program.
The new GM Military Discount Program offers eligible consumers a new Chevy, Buick or GMC at invoice pricing, which in some cases can take very large chunks out of a car's retail price. When factored in with other incentives, most of which are available with the Military Discount, the bargains are thick on the ground for members of the US armed forces.
GM's Retail Sales and Marketing Support general manager, Chuck Thomson, said, "GM has long supported the military and military families, and we hope this simplified and enhanced discount will show our appreciation for their service and help make it easier for them to own one of our great new vehicles." The program is open to all active duty and reserve members in the Army, Navy, Marines, Air Force, National Guard and Coast Guard, as well as veterans that have been out of the service for less than a year. Military retirees and their spouses are also eligible for the discount.
