1966 Chevy El Camino 4spd Runs And Drives Cheap Trades Considered Low Reserve on 2040-cars

Up for bidding consideration is a 1966 Chevy El Camino that I have had in my garage for the past couple years pulling it out once in a while to drive. I don't have the room for it anymore so it is for sale! This car runs and drives down the road real well. The brakes stop you just fine. The 4 speed rock crusher trans shifts as it should and the 350 v8 sounds good with lots of power. The exhaust has a good roar to it. I am not sure if it is a "SS" or if someone prior has tried to clone it. The miles on the car are believed to be correct but it is 47 years old so I don't think the miles are a selling point. In no way am I calling this restored, it has flaws in the body that is usually associated with a vehicle of this age like the clear is peeling especially on the hood, there is some rust at the top of the windshield, doors, wheel lip etc... Not bad considering the year. The tires are up with plenty of tread but they are a little weather checked. Nothing to serious but just want to mention that so no one is expecting a show car. The paint must've been done in the over 20 years ago as there is a lot of flake in it. The frame is not rotted and is in good condition. The floor pans were replaced at some point. The interior will need some attention but that's not a biggie as there is a ton of parts out there for these or you can always update to a new style interior that you like. I do have a dash pad that I will include with this sale. Please look at all of the pictures and ask any questions prior to bidding. This is being listed with a modest reserve which I will not disclose. NYS registration in hand and ready to transfer. This is being sold as is with no warranty like most old vehicles. Come in and look it over!! Just contact me via eBay with questions! Trades will be considered just tell me what you have. Shipping quote is available upon request. LOW RESERVE!!! TRADES? |

C7 Corvette makes inaugural ad appearance in Chevy's first spot with new slogan
Mon, 11 Feb 2013Chevrolet's "Runs Deep" tagline has finally been run into the ground, replaced with the Bowtie brand's "Find New Roads" slogan that's part of parent General Motors' plan to unify its everyday brand's marketing efforts worldwide. The new Chevrolet campaign was ushered in on prime time last night during the Grammy Awards on CBS, and the first spot, a 90-second full-line ad, also marks the first appearance of the 2014 Corvette Stingray in a commercial.
Being a full-line ad, the commercial is composed of vignettes centered on different vehicles in the brand's lineup. The all-new 2014 Impala also makes its first commercial appearance in dapper fashion, and time is spent on a skateboarding Sonic and a bouquet of brightly colored Spark hatchbacks driven by fashionable women. The ad starts and ends with Chevy's green halo car, the Volt, along with a young girl with her robotic dog (yes, really).
Chevrolet's "Runs Deep" campaign got off to a rocky start in the fall of 2010, but it did last for a couple of years with some tweaks. This new one, "Find New Roads" seems more intent on drawing new customers into the fold than the outgoing tagline, which seemed to play more toward the brand faithful. It admittedly reminds us more than a little the short-lived "Find Your Own Road" Saab motto (which, we note, was conceived while the Swedish brand was under GM's control), but no matter, we still think it's got more long-term potential than "Runs Deep."
2016 Chevy Camaro Convertible coming on June 24
Mon, Jun 22 2015With the new sixth-generation Chevy Camaro now upon us, Chevrolet is gearing up to drop the top on the new 2016 Camaro Convertible, previewed in this latest teaser video. There isn't much to go on from this short clip – the new convertible will feature a fully automated folding roof that will retract at the push of a button. Beyond that, we expect it to carry over the same features as the hardtop version we've already seen. Chevy is due to unveil what it calls "the most innovative Camaro Convertible ever" just a couple of days from now, so watch this space.
The story of the 2014 Chevrolet SS: "Luxury, power, refinement, handling"
Thu, 07 Mar 2013Not including the women and men who built it, the 2014 Chevrolet SS has only been seen in person by a piddling number of people - fewer humans than would fill the gymnasium at a high school volleyball game. Not including the men and women who built it, no one has driven it. Even so, it is already saddled with two controversies: the way it looks and the way it shifts.
First to that shifting. Did we love the last Americanized Holden, the awesomely sportsome Pontiac G8 GXP, and its six-speed manual? Of course. Do we wish the SS came with a six-speed manual? Of course. But we'd like a toboggan to come with a manual transmission. We'd put a manual transmission on a weasel if we could because we're just wired that way; if it moves, it should come with a stick and a clutch. Or at least the option.
Let's climb down off the ledge, though. We haven't driven the SS and we have no idea how good (or not) the automatic is. And the Hobson's Choice in transmissions when it comes to sport sedans like the BMW M5, Mercedes-Benz E63 AMG and Jaguar XFR-S and, oh yeah, cars-that-really-should-have-manuals like the Audi R8 and Nissan GT-R and Porsche 918 and every single Lamborghini and Ferrari, for instance, hasn't stopped us from enjoying what is clearly the gruesome, dual-clutched demise of Western automotive civilization. Because in spite of our ululations at the dying of the six-speed light, we understand.
