This auction is for my 1965 El Camino. I am the third owner of this car, the first two owners are in the same family. The car is from California and then Oklahoma. I have owned the car for 12 years. The car has had a complete body on restoration and has 18,xxx miles since the restoration. The car is always kept inside and covered with two California custom car car covers. It has been pampered for 12 years. here are the details:
BODY: No rust ever, all original body panels and fenders. All glass and upholstery were removed for the resto, interior insulated and all new interior installed. The paint is Glassurit German black with House of Kolor Tangelo pearl base coat/clear coat. The paint has been color sanded and buffed and is extremely smooth and glossy. Look at the pics of the body panels, lazer straight and smooth. The hood and cowl induction are steel, not fiberglass.
INTERIOR: Custom gauge panel with Autometer Pro Comp gauges, including trans temp. Tilt column with Billet Specialities steering wheel, custom sonsole with B&M shifter. Three point seat/shoulder belts. Door panels, headliner and carpet all replaced. Leather 6 way power and heated seats.
ENGINE: Small block chevy, 4 bolt mains, .030 over Hyperteutic pistons, 383 stroker, steel crank pink rods. Hardened valve seats, manley stainless steel 2.02 valves, screw in studs, guide plates,. Lunati cam and lifters, roller rockers. Aluminum high rise, Edelbrock 750 cfm elec choke carb, ceramic coated long tube headers. HEI ignition, 100 amp alternator, CVR gear reduction starter. The exhaust is 2 1/2" all the way with a Dr Gas X pipe and Flowmaster mufflers.
TRANS/DIFFERENTIAL: GM 700R4 overdrive, rebuilt with Corvette servo, Red Shift clutches and HD drum. HD U joints, 12 Bolt Posi rear end with 3:73 gear ratio. The trans and rearend were also thouroughly rebuilt.
SUSPENSION: Every suspension component was replaced or upgraded. The front end features an AGR quick ratio steering box, extra large sway bar, Global West tubular control arms and custom springs and koni shocks. The front has large disc brakes, power. The rear has Global West tubular lower control arms, Hotchkis frame stiffeners, Koni shocks, custom springs, Praise Dyno carbon fiber brake shoes on later model 11" drums. The wheels are Billet Specialities fast lanes in 17".
GENERAL: This El Camino is super nice. It rides and handles really well, cornering is remarkably stable and precise. The best feature of this car is how tight it is and how well it drives. Fly in and drive it home, it is stone reliable. All the chrome has been replated, every piece of stainless has been polished. The car has factory air and works great. The car has no issues, it has been driven 18,xxx miles since all the work was performed and does have some minor signs of use. You really have to look hard to see flaws, but it is not perfect. In some photos the orange pearl looks "yellowish" it is not, pearl paint is difficult to capture with a home digital camera. All paint on this car is super nice. I am 66 years old and have been having fun with cars for a long time...this is a good one. Check my feedback, bid with confidence, no dissappointments. I have many more pics....if you want more let me know. Good luck bidding.

Chevrolet Captiva looks mildly refreshed and ready for family duty
Tue, 05 Mar 2013We showed you Chevrolet's major debut yesterday, the 2014 Corvette Stingray Convertible, but General Motors is making a big push for Bowtie consideration in Europe, so it's also introducing the updated Captiva crossover here at the Geneva Motor Show.
While still based on the same platform as North America's fleet-only Captiva Sport (which is effectively a rebadged Saturn Vue), the Captiva is available in both five- and seven-seat iterations, and it looks far more modern. That's particularly the case with this updated model, which features revamped front- and rear ends that include restyled bumpers, grilles and LED taillamps, among other changes.
As before, the midsize Theta-platform CUV will be available in both front- and all-wheel drive, and is expected to carry a range of four- and six-cylinder gasoline and diesel engines. Important US programming note: Chevrolet sources tell us that America's Captiva Sport will not receive these updates.
Corvette Stingray Shooting Brake under consideration by Callaway [w/poll]
Mon, 18 Mar 2013Callaway has released a few renderings of a design study for a shooting brake version of the C7 Chevrolet Corvette Stingray. The company says it wants to create a long-roof version of America's sports car to offer buyers more interior room and a vehicle with "unique style." The company says it will use structural carbon fiber for the new body bits, which suggests the conversion shouldn't add too much more weight to the Corvette. Along with a few mechanical tweaks, the Callaway Corvette Stingray AeroWagon could breeze past the 200 miles per hour barrier.
Provided that they get enough interest, Callaway estimates they will be able to effect the changes on the Chevrolet for around $15,000, and says the conversion work should be available through its network of dealers. You can check out the brief press release below for more information, or head over to the Callaway site to plunk down a deposit - but before you do, we want to know... do you find this C7 wagon interesting? Vote in our poll below, then feel free to leave a few lines in Comments.

GM, Pilot will build EVgo fast chargers at 500 truck stops across U.S.
Thu, Jul 14 2022All of our maps showing electric vehicle charging stations across the U.S. are going to need an update. Today, General Motors, Pilot and EVgo announced plans to work together on a nationwide DC fast charging network. The plan calls for 2,000 charging stalls that can deliver up to 350 kW to be installed at up to 500 Pilot and Flying J travel centers in the U.S. The goal is to have DC fast chargers available in 50-mile intervals across the country. The new charging stations will feature GM's "Ultium Charge 360" branding and "Pilot Flying J" logos but will not be limited to drivers of GM EVs. The plugs will use CCS connectors and be available to anyone. GM EV owners can take advantage of benefits, including the ability to make exclusive reservations, get discounts on charging costs and streamline the charging process with Plug and Charge and in-vehicle apps that can provide real-time charger availability. The first installation phase will take place in 2023, and "the bulk of the installations" should be completed by 2025, EVgo CEO Kathy Zoi said during a conference call with reporters announcing the plan. "We're gonna get going immediately and commence all of that engineering and planning stuff," she said. "We've got a pretty orderly plan." Pilot CEO Shameek Konar said the company expects the new EV charging stations to coexist with the current fuel infrastructure. "An average Pilot Flying J location is about 10 acres," Konar said. "This will be in addition to all of our gas pumps. The way I think about it is, this is a new source of energy that is going to coexist with gas for quite some time. We can debate how long, but we need to serve both groups of customers." Installing DC fast chargers at hundreds of Pilot's travel centers — aka truck stops — means there should be food, drinks, restrooms, WiFi and even showers available while you wait for an EV to charge. Pilot recently announced its “New Horizons” plan that will invest $1 billion in upgrading Pilot travel centers with more premium amenities, including expanded seating and lounge areas. While the exact amount of time it will take to charge an EV using these new stations will vary on the EV and its current state of charge, most EVs can refill from a low state of charge to around 80 percent in 20-30 minutes on a fast charger. The new stations are future-proofed to deliver up to 350 kW, a charge rate that few EVs today can handle.
