Up for sale is a 1965 corvette convertible body and a restored rolling chassis.
This will make somebody a really nice project.
This was a 327 350 hp car.
IT COMES WITH THE TRIM TAG, VIN PLATE AND CLEAR TITLE. The tags are still located on the z bar.
THE BODY
For whatever reason, at some point someone cut the very rear of this body off. I DO have this piece and it comes with the auction.
I was told by the previous owner that this body matches the rolling chassis along with the block and heads. I was told during the last ebay auction that the engine # is from a 66 vette and the heads are from a 283 engine.
The body was hit on the right front at some point. (see pictures)
The body comes with the convertible deck lid and a drivers side door.
The tags read: style 19 467 A-4870 Body
trim 414B F-F Paint
The vin 1946755115264
THE FRAME (ROLLING CHASSIS)
The rolling chassis has been restored and is ready to go. The rolling chassis is mounted on 4 brand new BF Goodrich tires and 1 BF Goodrich spare. The tires are all mounted on new aftermarket rims.
The frame has been sand blasted, veri primed and painted acrylic black. All bushings, wheel bearings are new. The steering box has been rebuilt.
It appears that it had been repaired on the passenger side body mount at some time. (pic #6)
The rear end was sent to Oregon, to Randy's Rearends to have new 3:73 gears installed.
It has had a new set of 4 slotted rotors and brake calipers put on as well. The brand was Stainless Steel Brakes Corporation. The previous owner told me this cost him over $2,000.
The block and heads info is hard to read. I also have the crank and that is also included in the auction.
The block is GM # 3858174. There is no assembly date on the pad. The pad on the block is blank.
The heads are GM # 3795896.
I have explained everything the best that I could, but you have any questions just let me know. I am sure there is some things I have forgotten to mention.
THE DETAILS
I do have several other parts to fix this project at an additional cost. A brand new aftermarket front clip, 1 inner wheel well, an aftermarket big block hood, a convertible top, a hard top, interior pieces, etc....
If you have any questions or would like more pictures feel free to let me know.
I am located in northwest Iowa.
I work a full time job from 7:30-5:00 so I can't answer my phone during that time, so please leave a message and I will get back to you.
Local pick up only.
I have the right to end this ebay auction early because it is advertised elsewhere.
SERIOUS BUYERS ONLY. DON'T WASTE MY TIME AND YOURS!!
$500 NONREFUNDABLE deposit through paypal following the auction. NO PAYPAL FOR THE REMAINING AMOUNT. The rest will be paid in cash upon pick up.
Feel free to check out my other corvette items I have for sale on ebay.
Thanks, Tim

Race Recap: Rolex 24 at Daytona was fast and feisty
Mon, Jan 26 2015Let the record show that victory at the 2015 Rolex 24 at Daytona went to the No. 02 Chip Ganassi Racing with Felix Sabates Target/Ford EcoBoost Riley DP driven by Verizon IndyCar drivers Scott Dixon and Tony Kanaan and NASCAR drivers Jamie McMurray and Kyle Larson. The winner did 740 laps to cover 2,634.3 miles in 24 hours and 57.667 seconds. That's a statement to this year's pace in spite of 18 cautions, two more than last year: the Michael Shank Racing Ligier got pole with a time of 1:39.194, slower than last year's pole time of 1:38.270; however, the winning car last year only did 695 laps. The fight for top honors was shaved to a four-car battle over the first third of the event. The No. 02 Ganassi car took the lead on the first lap, swapping it well into the night with the No. 01 Ganassi car, the No. 10 Wayne Taylor Racing Corvette DP, and the defending champion No. 5 Action Express Corvette DP, all of them staying within about 20 seconds of one another. The Action Express car had a fuel connector come loose and lost three laps getting towed back to the pits to have it reattached, but was back in the lead 18 hours in. The No. 01 Ganassi car dropped out with recurring clutch problems 22 hours in, retiring not long after. A race-within-the-race is where the concluding action happened, a seven minute, 30-second dash from the end of the last caution to the checkered flag. During the penultimate pit stops with an hour to go, Dixon was in second place followed Jordan Taylor in the Wayne Taylor Racing DP into the pits but beat him out, taking the lead. The Action Express car was in third. In the last pit stops of the race, Dixon gained even more time, getting a four-second advantage over Taylor. Then a full-course caution came out twenty minutes before the finish when a Prototype Challenge car hit the wall and caught fire, bunching up the field. That closed the pits, but the Wayne Taylor Racing car had to pit during that yellow because of a miscalculation of driver time. No driver can be behind the wheel for more than four hours in a six-hour period but Jordan Taylor was going to go over, so he came in to swap out for brother Ricky. That cost the team any chance of second place, since they took an additional drive-through penalty for entering closed pits. When the track went green again, Sebastien Bourdais in the Action Express car stayed all over Dixon for the final five laps but couldn't get around him.
This SEMA special drag race is absurdly awesome
Fri, Dec 5 2014The SEMA Show came and went last month, and it showed us a ton of heavily modded goodies to dream about during the long, cold winter. The Motor Trend Channel on YouTube is keeping the party rolling a little longer, though, with a drag race inspired by the aftermarket event. All of the hosts were supposed to borrow a vehicle from the show for the big race, but only two of them actually cajoled companies into lending their wares. Still, the result includes four very cool and extremely different examples of the breadth of the automotive hobby. First up, there's a 1955 Chevrolet with a 535-cubic-inch (8.8-liter) Hemi V8 stuffed under the hood. Appropriately, it's dubbed the Blasphemi, and with skinny tires up front, fat rubber in the rear and a stripped interior, this this is made to go very fast in a straight line. Next, there's a stock Dodge Challenger SRT Hellcat boasting 707 horsepower. Plus, host Jessi Lang has her dog riding shotgun for the race. A Chevy Sonic RS with some body mods, downpipe and intake is also competing. Finally, the most bizarre of the quartet is a custom 1958 Jeep Forward Control with a 5.7-liter Hemi V8 and treads to replace the wheels. Obviously, the Blasphemi and Hellcat are the only two that really have a chance of winning, but check out the video to see which one crosses the finish line first. Looking back at the Citation IV concept that likely shaped the GM EV1
Wed, Aug 20 2014Those who forget history are condemned to repeat it. We're not sure how that applies to the GM EV1, but we'd still like to share something from Autoline Daily, an online automotive new show with our friend John McElroy. He's been covering the business for decades now and recently found something interesting: pictures of the 1984 Chevrolet Citation IV concept, seen above. Displayed half a decade before the first electric concept that would become the EV1 (inset), McElroy says it's now clear that the elegant, aerodynamic EV1 took a lot of styling cues from the Citation IV, which was developed in part thanks to GM's new-at-the-time Aerodynamics Laboratory. We agree with him that the spats over the rear wheels, the flush glass, and the covered headlights all bear a certain kind of similarity between the two cars. That the colors almost match is a nice coincidence. The Impact (the concept version of the EV1) looked "frumpier," McElroy says, because it wasn't as long as the Citation. You can read a lot more about the Citation IV here and check out McElroy's thoughts in the video below. Find the Citation starting at around 3:45. This content is hosted by a third party.
